Since August, I've been working part-time almost every weekend in September and October, and I feel sorry to my husband for hardly being at home. Honestly, I don't really want to work that much; I'd prefer a regular office job with a five-day workweek, which is definitely more time and cost-efficient. But I want to try different jobs! So, I've been juggling three jobs: working in insurance three days a week and also in two different restaurants (though I’ve reached my limit, so it's just two for now).
My husband told me a while ago to "keep this Sunday in November free for an event," and I made sure to do just that. Sometimes, I need to spend time with him! The event was a classic car gathering that started at the Tokyo Prince Hotel parking lot, and we drove around Ginza, Ningyocho, Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Tsukishima in classic cars. It was a relatively warm day, so it felt nice even in an open-top car.
For lunch, it was a free style around Tsukiji, and we joined some friends: a very cool CEO who had bought the MGB my husband previously owned, along with his daughter (a personal trainer, stunning and with an amazing figure). She had to leave for work, so it was just the CEO, my husband, and me left. We parked in Tsukiji, but most restaurants were either closed or too expensive for tourists. We managed to find a hotel restaurant that was open.
As we waited for our food, I saw the dishes being served to other customers and thought, "Wow, this really doesn’t look appealing at all! 1500 yen for this? No way!" My inner alarm was ringing loudly. I suddenly exclaimed, "Oh, I just remembered something! You two enjoy yourselves!" My husband, surprised, replied, "Huh? Stay and eat!" (He tends to be shy and struggles to keep conversations going with the CEO.)
I insisted, "No, I’m really sorry. I remembered something important!" I left my husband, who was stunned, and cheerfully waved goodbye to the CEO, saying, "See you again soon!" Eating out is serious business for me! It's not because I don't make mistakes; it's because I absolutely want to avoid them!
After leaving Tsukiji, we headed to a place I wanted to visit near my workplace. By the way, I previously visited the Yam Yam restaurant in Tamachi, so I knew it was a sure thing! Even though it was around 1 PM on a Sunday and there were people in line, I didn’t have to wait long to be seated at the counter.
I ordered the Gabao and Red Curry set! The spring rolls and soup were delicious, and the Gabao and Red Curry were amazing too! It was a generous portion, but I finished everything. Ah, pure happiness. I’d love to visit Yam Yam again for a weekday lunch, but it’s just way too crowded for me to manage. I feel guilty toward my husband for enjoying this alone. But I made a delicious dinner for him to enjoy.
