As an appetizer, they serve fresh abalone that moves right before your eyes, which you can then cook over the fire. There’s a wide variety of small dishes to choose from, making it an exciting experience! I tried the raw beef tongue ham for the first time, and it was delicious ♡ If you love shrimp, you have to try the gigantic shrimp! Grilled over charcoal, this shrimp is about 15 cm in size, with a juicy texture and an irresistible charcoal aroma! It’s really satisfying, and you won’t be able to stop eating it. The grilled chicken skewers made from fresh, morning-caught chicken are also highly recommended. You can truly taste the rich flavor of pure chicken. Skewers start at just 200 yen, so you’ll want to try more than a few. The restaurant also offers a great selection of fine sake and shochu, allowing you to enjoy wonderful dishes while drinking! For dessert, don’t miss the “Flood Tiramisu.” When you lift the cover, you’ll find an abundance of cream that’s rich yet not too sweet, making it a perfect finish to your meal! I visited for the first time on a weekday at 6 PM with a reservation. From the name, I could tell it was a place aimed at a younger crowd. I sat at the counter. Instead of an appetizer of abalone, they served what appeared to be grilled sea cucumber. Oh, it's still alive! That's great, but it's a bit disappointing that they used solid fuel instead of charcoal. I ordered various items from the all-you-can-drink menu. The sashimi was cut into large chunky pieces and was quite delicious. I finished off with a beef cutlet sandwich. Overall, it was okay.

There’s a popular yakitori restaurant in Doyama-cho, Umeda, where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood as well as pure chicken from morning deliveries. It's great that you get to choose from several side dishes! The staff brings them to your table to show you what’s available. One of the side dishes is grilled live abalone, which is quite luxurious! They grill it right in front of you, and the abalone was fresh and plump. Sorry, little abalone, but I enjoyed it immensely! The kanjang saeu (soy sauce marinated shrimp) was large and sweet, and the sashimi platter was fresh and delicious! The big shrimp grilled on the robata grill were also very satisfying and had a great chewy texture. For dessert, I had a smooth and creamy tiramisu that was just sweet enough, and I finished it off easily. I also wanted to try the donabe rice from Shimane Prefecture that is cooked after you order, so I’ll definitely have to do that next time!

There's a lively izakaya in the Higashi Shopping Street where you can enjoy both meat and seafood! Recently, these kinds of izakayas have been really high quality. The appetizer was surprisingly abalone, and you can choose from two favorite options afterward! The meat was delicious, with the grilled tongue cooked perfectly to a tender texture. The seared yukke came with a delightful surprise of kinzanji miso sauce! The grilled hormone (offal) in the hot pot had an amazing charcoal aroma—perfect for the cold seasons ahead, so how about an early hot pot? For the finale, they also operate a ramen shop, making the noodles a must-try. The monstrous shrimp is a bit pricey but has incredible volume—it's at least five times the size of a regular shrimp! It was juicy and full of shrimp flavor. The yakitori is easy to order as you can choose them one by one, and the fluffy tsukune (meatballs) were really tasty. I was amazed by the flood of tiramisu; after ordering, they finished the cream, which was lightly sweet and airy—almost café-quality! There were also many appealing menu items, and the prices were reasonable, so I’ll definitely visit again. Thank you for the great meal!

We ordered five dishes and an assortment of eight skewers of grilled chicken, which my friend and I shared. The standout dishes are definitely the "Tannburian" and the "Wagyu and Shiso Spring Rolls," which aren't typically found in other izakayas. The "Tannburian" consists of beef tongue, featuring both tender and chewy textures. The "Wagyu and Shiso Spring Rolls" come with truffle salt, and the meat is exceptionally tender, making it a personal favorite of mine. The portions are not large, which is great for those who want to enjoy a little bit of everything. The grilled chicken skewers are also on the smaller side. The service is outstanding, and the food is delicious, making it a very popular spot. On Saturday nights, it tends to be fully booked, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting!

I've been really craving yakitori lately, so I decided to visit a restaurant I had been curious about. I was mainly focused on yakitori, but I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive selection of side dishes! First, we were served an amuse-bouche of abalone, which blew my mind. The staff were also very kind, checking in on our table to see if we were ready to eat. I ordered the charcoal-grilled namul, which was a quick dish. When it came out, I was surprised to see the black bean sprouts! They were incredibly delicious and went well with my drink, so I definitely recommend trying them! The yakitori was tasty too; I wish I had ordered more. I love fried food, and their tempura was crispy and huge! I nearly burned myself, but it was so good! Personally, I thought the chikuwa and namul surpassed the yakitori!

The Higashi-dori shopping street in Umeda experiences frequent changes in its shops, so if you don’t visit for a while, it can feel completely different. One such place I discovered during a drinking party was "Yakitori Hormone Sumiyaki 0-shiki." The interior feels like a pub, with a focus on counter seating, and the food was delicious. We opted for a course meal with all-you-can-drink options. For starters, there was a choice of appetizers such as "chicken ponzu" and "chicken liver," all of which seemed great for pairing with drinks. We started with a toast over "draft beer!" The first dish that arrived was "abalone" grilled on a shichirin (a small charcoal grill). It was tender with a good texture, and very tasty. By this time, I was craving sake, so I ordered "Mizukawa." The chilled sake was delightful but a bit dangerous. There were both raw and grilled sashimi, prepared with a bit of flair. Next came the main attraction: the "yakitori." Grilled over charcoal, the yakitori was juicy and had a wonderful texture. By this point, the restaurant ran out of "Mizukawa," so I switched to another brand. After that, I have little recollection of the rest of the evening, but I did remember it being delicious. Drinking too much is something to be cautious about!

We were served two types of appetizer, and the baked abalone was simply luxurious! Right in front of us, we grilled fresh and lively abalone over a cute miniature grill. It had a wonderful elasticity but was incredibly tender! There were many options for small side dishes, and we chose seafood yukke. The sashimi platter was lavish as well, with thick cuts of bonito tataki, seared sea bream, and yellowtail, served with wasabi and charcoal salt. The salmon and tuna melted in our mouths! The grilled chicken platter included negima (grilled chicken and green onion), seseri (neck meat), kokoro (heart), and chicken breast, all delicious. The tsukune (chicken meatball) with a runny egg yolk was amazing! The sea urchin and shrimp marinated in soy sauce created a rich, sticky flavor that heightened our drinking experience. Wrapping the grilled beef yukke and the egg yolk in seaweed was also top-notch. We were amazed by the giant shrimp, which was grilled to a fragrant crispiness while remaining juicy inside—any shrimp lover would be thrilled! The Tamba beef had a delightful elasticity while being incredibly tender and juicy. It's so fresh that it can be eaten raw, with a great chewy texture—delicious! Then, we got to choose one small dish each. Here’s our order: ✅ Today's sashimi platter (for two) ✅ Uni and shrimp marinated in soy sauce ✅ Yakitori: negima (chicken and green onion), seseri (neck meat), kokoro (heart), tebasaki (chicken wing), and tsukune (chicken meatball with egg) ✅ Tanburian (grilled beef tongue) ✅ Wagyu perilla spring roll ✅ Monster shrimp ✅ Gohan (rice) topped with grilled wagyu ✅ Flood Tiramisu Everything was delicious! The monster shrimp was surprisingly huge—probably around 30cm! When grilled slowly, the shrimp's meat was sweet. The tanburian was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, with a fragrant char and a rich beef flavor. The flood tiramisu was creamy yet light, with just the right amount of sweetness—I loved it! The seafood was fresh, the meats were excellent, and even the desserts showed a commitment to quality. This truly is an all-around great place, which is probably why it’s always full. I visited for dinner with a close friend, and despite it being a weekday, the restaurant was fully packed, so I recommend making a reservation in advance.
