A new yakiniku restaurant has opened in Dojima, called Dojima Yakiniku Ryori-ten. This time, I enjoyed their recommended signature course. Located conveniently close to Umeda and Kitashinchi, it still has a hidden gem vibe, featuring not only counter and table seats but also private rooms, making it a great choice for anniversaries or dates.
What sets Dojima Yakiniku Ryori-ten apart is its extraordinary dedication to meat, as they use the rare purebred Tajima beef, often referred to as the "royalty of wagyu." Only about 100 heads of this prized beef are available each year, making it incredibly rare. It seems that people are drawn to Osaka just to taste this beef, so reservations through Tabelog or the restaurant's Instagram are essential.
The course costs 13,000 yen, which may seem pricey, but both the quantity and quality were outstanding. Here’s what the course included:
- Adult seaweed rolls
- Yukke (raw beef)
- Today's beef sashimi
- Special tongue (with salt sauce)
- Thick-cut premium filet
- Two types of specially prepared grilled meat
- Sirloin steak shabu-shabu
- Homemade Dojima cold noodles or Dojima curry
- Rich silk gelato
The three appetizers featured rich yukke and flavorful seaweed rolls filled with scallops and beef, along with sashimi that beautifully highlighted the quality of the meat. At this point, my taste buds were already blown away. Then, the grilling began with an incredibly high-quality beef tongue. The filet, served in generous portions, had a stunning gradient when sliced, and eating it with some wasabi felt more like enjoying a steak than traditional yakiniku.
The day’s red meat options were ichibo and ramshin, and since the course includes unlimited white rice, I could easily devour over a bowl of rice just with the red meat. By now, I felt like I had already received excellent value, but the best was yet to come with the beautifully marbled sirloin shabu-shabu, making the filet and this dish the dual stars of the course.
For the finale, you can choose between curry and cold noodles. The cold noodles use a refreshing broth ice to cleanse your palate, making it an ideal ending after the yakiniku. On the other hand, the curry is generously packed with meat, a luxurious treat that you can only get at a yakiniku restaurant. If you still have room in your stomach, selecting this as your final dish is definitely recommended.
Enjoying this stunningly delicious yakiniku course in such a wonderful atmosphere made for an unforgettable experience at Dojima Yakiniku Ryori-ten. Thank you for the fantastic meal!
