I can't believe there's such a delicious yakiniku restaurant so close to the station! It's located in Kawaramachi, so I thought it would be a casual place with cheap meat and average taste, but it turned out to be very tasty with high-quality meat! The upper loin was very delicious and offered at a reasonable price. The fresh liver and the rare skirt steak were all delicious too! I think the prices are quite affordable♪ As for the cold noodles, I thought they could be a little more flavorful. Next time, I definitely want to try the grilled wagyu tataki.

I was drawn in by the thick-cut beef tongue! The original thick-cut green onion-wrapped tongue was even more delicious than I expected, and the combination of the green onion and tongue was outstanding✨ I highly recommend it! I was also pleased to find that they had White Oak, Yamazaki, and Hibiki highballs available. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but it’s worth it… lol. The other dishes like the beef skirt and organ meats were also delicious, and I left feeling very satisfied!

The dish had green onions stuffed inside the tendon, and it had a great balance of visuals, ease of eating, and deliciousness! The staff were all young, energetic, and lively, which made for an enjoyable experience. However, since my table was right by the entrance, it felt a bit lackluster. If I have the chance to go again, I'd like to sit further inside.

I visited a new restaurant that opened in August, which is run by someone who trained at the yakiniku restaurants 万両 (Manyo) and 焼肉うちだ (Yakiniku Uchida), located just near Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. I found out about it through an article in the Tabelog magazine and decided to check it out. I made a reservation for a table through Tabelog, but was shown to a counter instead, as all the table seats were fully booked. The counter was extremely cramped, making it uncomfortable to eat. There was barely enough space to place the dishes, and I really wanted to enjoy my meal leisurely. It was frustrating not to understand the point of seat selection; I would have canceled the reservation if I had known it would be at the counter. If they are going to charge for a service fee, they should communicate better about these seating arrangements. Here’s what I ordered that day: - Otooshi (appetizer, beef tendon stew?) ¥330 (✖️) - Original Thick-Cut Green Onion Wrapped Beef Tongue ¥1,848 (◎) - Mysterious Fresh Kalbi ¥1,639 (○) - Special Grade Salted Tongue (thinly sliced) ¥1,738 (◎) - Wagyu Seared Tataki (100g) ¥1,540 (○) - Ultimate Melting Ichibo with Kyoto Vegetables ¥1,250 - Wagyu Toro-Taku (4 pieces) ¥1,815 From the moment I entered, I felt let down, which really affected my mood, but overall, the meat was stable and decent. The green onion wrapped beef tongue looked impressive, but it was tricky to cook perfectly, and the seasoning of the green onions was too strong, overshadowing the tongue’s flavor. The fresh kalbi was quite good, especially when wrapped in the accompanying Korean seaweed, which enhanced the taste greatly. The Ichibo with Kyoto vegetables was reminiscent of Manyo’s Ichibo roast, coated in a sweet sauce that was delicious. The Seared Tataki involves cooking a chunk of meat yourself and handing it back to the staff for finishing touches. However, when I asked for a more well-done sear, they returned it to me still undercooked, which I found frustrating because I expected the restaurant to handle that entirely. I wanted to try more dishes, but the cramped seating made it difficult to order everything at once, and the overall atmosphere was not very pleasant, leading me to give up on ordering more. This place might be suitable for solo yakiniku dining. I believe its popularity will continue to grow, and it will likely become one of the notable yakiniku spots in the future. Given its great location, if you're in Kyoto for sightseeing or if you enjoy Manyo, it's worth checking out!

I went to a yakiniku restaurant that’s open until 2 AM, and I was glad I could eat without worrying about the last order since I arrived after 10 PM. The meat was incredibly delicious! The "phantom" flank steak wrapped in Korean seaweed was exceptional. The special egg soup was also super tasty! Even though it was late at night, I ended up eating a lot. 😊

I visited "Kyoto Yakiniku Yabu," a restaurant opened by the owner of a famous yakiniku shop in Osaka. It's gaining attention for offering delicious wagyu at reasonable prices! We ordered a variety of meats, including the legendary harami, and shared them among four people. The legendary harami is eaten by mixing it with egg yolk and wrapping it in Korean seaweed – it's incredibly delicious! The thick-cut grilled tongue wrapped with green onions has a perfect chewy texture and is incredibly satisfying. The meat juice is amazing! We also enjoyed different seasonings for the other meats, like yuzu pepper and wasabi. The cold noodle soup at the end was also delightful. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

I recently visited a newly opened restaurant that is known for its thick and delicious salted tongue filled with plenty of green onions. While I didn’t order it because I wasn’t craving that much green onion, nearly all the other customers did. The other meats were also tasty, and I enjoyed the yukgaejang soup and cold noodles as well. However, the counter seats were too cramped, feeling like we were all packed tightly together. It was hard to find space for the meat dishes. Overall, the food was great, but I wish I could have enjoyed it in a more relaxed setting with a larger table.

I made a reservation for a table through Tabelog and arrived on time, but when I got there, no table was available, and we were seated at the counter instead with three people. After a while, we moved to a table when one became available, but it left a bad impression from the start. The food was delicious, especially the tataki, which was fantastic, but the upper loin was tough and hard to chew. Additionally, the service was surprisingly slow; it felt like we spent more time waiting than eating. Given that there weren't many seats, the operation was really poor. One portion of meat took over 30 minutes to arrive, and when I pointed it out, a manager-type person came and admitted they had forgotten it. There was no particular service to compensate for the delay, and honestly, it was quite frustrating. The quality and taste of the meat were great, but everything was ruined by the poor service. I will never go back again.

I visited the restaurant with a junior colleague. Some popular items, like yukhoe, were sold out. However, the tataki and beef tongue were delicious, and I will definitely come back. The tataki is finished and sliced by the staff after being seared on the surface. The beef tongue is thickly cut and has green onions in between, giving it a great texture. The price was reasonable too, as we both got full for around 6,000 yen each.

I recently visited a new restaurant called Yabu in Mokuyacho. It seems that the owner previously worked at a place called Manyo in Osaka before opening this location in Kyoto. I tried the raw beef tartare (yukke) made with harami and it was my first time having it; it was delicious! The beef tongue was very tender, possibly from the tongue’s base, and there were no sinews, making it really enjoyable. While the flavors were great, I personally felt that the garlic chips that came with the yukke and the dipping sauce weren't necessary. Overall, the prices were reasonable and I was satisfied with my experience.

I discovered that I can now enjoy the barbecue I’ve been curious about in Kyoto! It’s located right on my way home from work, just a short distance from Kawaramachi. The restaurant features a narrow counter with high-backed tables, giving it a semi-private feel. The photos on the menu are stunning! I started with a toast using the "Specialty Tavern's Lemon Sour" for 550 yen, and then it was time for my main attraction: the "Original Thick-Sliced Green Onion Wrapped Tongue" for 1680 yen. I had been looking forward to this! After grilling it on both sides… oh my goodness! The texture is amazing!!! I’m practically bouncing on the sofa of Earth right now! The green onions stay crunchy and don’t fall out. My friend remarked, “All green onion tongue should be like this!” Next up was the "Wagyu Seared Tataki 200g" for 2800 yen. Watching it grill is like witnessing a living creature! After I grilled it, the staff dipped it in sauce and put it back on the grill. Wow! It was a meat explosion! The presentation was beautiful, like a flower, when it came back from the kitchen. Despite being grilled, it was so juicy!! The mildly sweet sauce complemented the meat perfectly. Each bite released more juice, making it a great match with lettuce! Then came a beautiful small bowl with "Yabu's Homemade Namul Assortment" for 600 yen and "Yabu's Special Homemade Kimchi (four varieties)" for 780 yen. The kimchi was incredibly delicious! It wasn’t too spicy, and this is the most refined kimchi I’ve ever had. The water spinach kimchi was especially good! The "Selected Klashita Grilled Shabu" for 1590 yen had a lovely flavor! The thinly sliced meat had a unique texture. The "Selected Misuji Thinly Sliced with Sauce" for 1980 yen left me in a daze… It melts in my mouth… the sweetness… Please don’t disappear! I got a small bowl of rice for 250 yen to pair with my meat, but I also ordered the "Stone-Grilled Yukke Garlic Rice" for 1380 yen after smelling it from the table next to me. The aroma was irresistible! The staff mixed it right in front of me, and I added grilled meat on top. Oh my goodness, it was unbelievably delicious! How does it taste this good? The sweet, elegant sauce with garlic and the chewy rice made it so good that I almost thought it was fine without meat! For dessert, I tried the "Freshly Squeezed Milk Homemade Ice Cream" for 450 yen, which is quite rare! It had a slightly sticky texture and definitely felt fresh. I also sampled the "Flavor of the Month Ice Cream (Pistachio in September)" for 450 yen, which had a natural, earthy taste. I chatted a bit with the manager, who was incredibly nice! This place is fantastic! I’m so thrilled to have found such an amazing restaurant on my way home! The hormone dishes start at just 300 yen, so I’ll definitely bring my meat-loving colleagues here again. The beautiful plates also caught my eye, and I can’t wait to go back soon!

I was drawn here by the generous amount of green onions on the grilled tongue. This place is a hit after such a long time! If you're looking for yakiniku in Kyoto, I definitely recommend this spot! The grilled dishes are great, but the yukke (raw beef) is on another level! It was absolutely delicious!!! The meat, which is briefly seared right in front of me and then sliced, was incredibly tasty\(^^)/ I want to visit this restaurant again! ✨️

This is my second visit. The owner recommended the grilled shabu-shabu with hanger steak, and it was incredibly delicious. Personally, I really like the grated daikon ponzu sauce as it's refreshing and light. I found a truly amazing yakiniku restaurant in Kiyamachi. The meat is really beautiful! It's always full.
