A new restaurant has opened in Minoshima, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City! It’s called “Uokaya.” I visited on a weekday around 10 PM, and the place was almost full. The atmosphere inside is eclectic, with a few counter seats, four four-person tables, two two-person tables, and a private-like seating area in the back. Orders are taken via a mobile ordering system, and you can check the menu on it. The restaurant specializes in chicken dishes, particularly grilled chicken called “jidori,” and there are no cover charges or appetizers. We started with the “Rerererere Lemon Sour,” priced around 600 yen, and cheers! The impressive frozen lemon tower is a highlight and definitely makes a big impact while being delicious! Despite the crowd, the food was delivered quickly. The fried chicken, priced at 599 yen, boasts a blend of ten spices crafted through trial and error, and it’s their pride and joy. The “Grilled Chicken Combo” is around 1000 yen and allows you to enjoy both the black and red jidori grilled chicken. I also tried the chicken paitan ramen for about 900 yen, which is a lighter ramen made with chicken paitan. It features rare chicken chashu, green onions, and very thin noodles—a perfect dish to end the evening! The billing process is safe and straightforward. If you’re interested, I highly recommend checking it out!

I was thrilled to enjoy authentic grilled chicken thighs at an affordable price, and they were delicious! The chicken sashimi was also fresh, and I could feel the attention to detail in the soy sauce and wasabi. Everything was more delicious than I expected! This place is easy to get into now, but I think it will soon become a popular spot that requires reservations.

I went there right away! The bird sashimi platter was delicious. I want to come here even for solo drinking. I ate a few other dishes too, but I forgot to take pictures. There are still many things I want to try, so I’ll be going back!

I was pleasantly surprised to find such great pickled vegetables here... especially the cucumbers. The fresh sashimi was also top-notch, and the chicken bone broth ramen was ridiculously good.
