To save on electricity costs, the inside of the restaurant is dimly lit. They have a ticket machine at the back where you can buy your meal ticket. The menu is extensive and I had a hard time deciding, but I ordered the Pork and Green Onion Soba for ¥1000. They specialize in soba noodles, so there are no rice dishes available. When the meal was ready, the owner brought it to my table. The soba had plenty of pork and was fairly tasty, but the broth was a bit salty. Based on other reviews I've seen, I probably should have opted for the cold soba instead.

I happened to pass by this restaurant during lunchtime, so I decided to visit. It's a type of restaurant where you buy a meal ticket and place your order. There isn't much information about the dishes at the ticket sales counter, so it's better to decide what to order before going. It was my first time having Soba noodles in a while, and the texture was great and delicious. The cost performance was also good, and I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

"Mini Tenzaru" for 1,350 yen Soba: Good Tempura: Not great Located in a residential area with a mulberry orchard, this soba shop operates like those in the town center, where you buy food tickets from a vending machine. There is a menu outside the shop, so it's better to decide before entering. The soba is more than the usual amount, made with Sarashina buckwheat. Nori, green onions, and wasabi are good. Soba-yu is served at the same time. The tempura consists of one eggplant, one bell pepper, shrimp, and pumpkin. The tempura batter is thick. It's unclear what is "mini" about it! There is a card quietly placed with a promise of a 10% increase in soba quantity on the next visit. Since there is no explanation, it's also unclear what happens when the stamps are collected. Mysterious!

I purchase a meal ticket at the ticket vending machine located at the back of the store. I hand it to the owner and take a seat. The "Mini Tenzaru" costs 1,200 yen and consists of crispy tempura including shrimp, green pepper, pumpkin, and fish cake. The restaurant is called "Soba-dokoro Yū" and is located at 1-1, Kita 7 Jonishi 22 Chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.

Oh, it was a one-man operation. Upon entering the dimly lit restaurant, you could hear a refreshing voice saying "Irasshaimase" from the kitchen in the back. However, orders are placed at a ticket machine far from the entrance, creating a somewhat mysterious feeling. The owner peeks out from behind the counter and takes the purchased food ticket. I ordered the "Mori" for ¥650, which was served at the counter without having to go pick it up. The dish was a plump, long white soba noodles. I dipped them in the tangy broth and slurped them up. The portion size was quite generous. I wish there was a bit more of the fresh wasabi and green onions for added flavor. The pricing felt a bit high, possibly due to the need to cover rent or the location. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I visited this place when it first opened, but haven't been back since. The taste was a bit bland back then. However, the fact that it has been around for a while intrigued me, so I decided to visit again. I ordered the chilled dipping noodles. The noodles were thin and served with plenty of cucumber and fish cake on top. Along with the noodles, they also served a dipping sauce and a side of sauce. I was curious about the sauce and tasted it first. It wasn't bland at all! However, when I poured it over the noodles, the flavor suddenly became weak. Could this be the reason for the bland taste before? I felt bad, but I asked for extra sauce and enjoyed my meal without any issues. If the sauce had a bit more mirin, it would have been even better for me. Overall, I can see myself coming back here again.

As usual, I'm going in without any prior information! Lately, I've been going into shops that catch my eye while driving, and this time I spotted a soba restaurant. It was a bit early, around 11:30, but I decided to have it for lunch. They had a ticket machine, so I had to decide what to order. I went for the cold soba with "tanuki" (tempura flakes) and egg on top, as I was curious about it. It cost 850 yen. It was ready in about 7-8 minutes. The soba was "sarasoba" type, and the dipping sauce was warm with tanuki and egg. It's the "nuki" part of the tanuki and egg soba. The sauce was on the thicker side, probably meant for dipping the cold soba into. Overall, it was just delicious, a typical delicious town soba. Thank you for the meal! I might visit again if I have the chance.

After visiting the shrine, I decided to have a lunch of soba noodles. I found this place nearby that I hadn't been to before. It was just past 12 o'clock and the place was filling up with men. I managed to secure the last available seat in the tatami area. You order at the ticket machine at the back, and then hand your ticket to the owner who is standing in the kitchen. He carefully observes the customers before bringing their orders to them. The soba noodles were my favorite type, more thin and delicate. The broth had a sharp flavor of bonito, which paired perfectly with the soba noodles. As the meal went on, the flavor of the broth gradually diminished. In my experience, a bowl of soba noodles of this quality would usually cost in the 500 yen range. So, at 650 yen, I had slightly higher expectations. Perhaps it's because of the location, but the soba noodles were really delicious. Thank you for the meal!

There are a few parking spaces in front of the store. Orders are made through a ticket machine, and the menu is focused on soba noodles, with no rice or bowl options available. The "Mori" set costs 650 yen (tax included) and offers a big portion to fill you up. They also have a "Mega" option which is a huge 500g serving. The soba noodles are more on the popular side, closer to the softer Shinano variety, with a slightly sweet flavor. The texture is good, and while the flavor is mild, it has a subtle sweetness that is satisfying. The broth is sharp and flavorful with a hint of acidity, and a slightly raw edge. It may feel a bit mismatched, but I find it unique and enjoyable. The garnish includes finely chopped green onions, showing skill in presentation. The soba water is clear and clean. There was a newspaper article displayed in the shop mentioning that the owner is also a magician. It makes sense, considering the signed photo of Mr. Maric displayed prominently. The magic in the soba noodles brings you back to reality, filling you up nicely. However, in terms of value for money, it's a bit on the higher side. Personally, I feel that if the "Mori" set was priced in the 500 yen range, it would be a perfect value for money.

I visited the restaurant a little before 12 o'clock on a weekday. I knew there was a soba restaurant here for a few years, but this was my first time visiting because the entrance area seemed unwelcoming. According to other reviews, it seems the owner changed a few years ago. The entrance was hard to find, and the inside of the restaurant was dimly lit, giving it a pub-like atmosphere. It's understandable due to the building's structure, but I think making the windows bigger would make the place brighter and more inviting. There is parking space for 4 cars in front of the restaurant. The owner, who seems to be running the place alone, had a cheerful voice which was a relief. There was only one customer before me, and the ticket machine was placed at the back of the restaurant, even though there was space near the entrance. I ordered the "Squid Tempura Soba @1,000 yen" and handed the ticket to the owner next to the ticket machine. The dish was served in about 10 minutes. It consisted of two large squid tempura on top of the soba noodles. The squid tempura was thick and tender, with a crispy coating that went well with the dipping sauce. The sauce was a bit salty for my taste, I would have preferred a bit more dashi flavor. The soba noodles were hand-made but slightly on the softer side, and the portion was quite large. It felt like there was about 300g of soba, which took a while to finish. It would be a satisfying portion even for someone with a big appetite, but if you need more, they also offer a "Mega Mori Soba (400g) @800 yen". At first, I thought the cost performance was not great, but considering the portion size, it seemed reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

Chilled udon noodles for 950 yen with plenty of toppings. The crunchy texture of the cucumber adds a nice touch. Overall, it's decent. The service is good. There is water, shichimi spice, and hand sanitizer at the table, but it's a shame there are no tissues available.

On August 1st, 2019 (Thursday), I had chilled noodles at Sobadokoro O, in Sapporo Chuo Ward. It's too hot these days, with tropical nights every day. I needed to recover my energy and prevent summer fatigue. I love hot springs and this place in Hokkaido is great for that. #O #SapporoChuoWard #TooHot #HotSummer #TropicalNights #Recovery #PreventingSummerFatigue #HokkaidoIsGreat #LoveHotSprings #NisekoOnsenClub
