After leaving Mr. Amagawa behind and heading back home, for some reason I was drawn to "Menya Taku" (laughs)
- Arrival time: 1:00 PM
- Crowdedness: 3 people waiting inside, 5 people waiting outside
- Wait time: 15 minutes for those waiting outside, a little over 10 minutes for those waiting inside
There was a group that seemed to be hindering the turnover... My stomach was craving tonkotsu ramen! If you're done eating, please hurry up and leave~ I send my thoughts (laughs)
Since you can see the situation inside the restaurant, waiting inside feels longer than waiting outside. The staff seemed to be aware of the situation and were skillfully and calmly managing the restaurant. The system with the outside ticket machine and receiving food tickets, as well as some self-service aspects, are very well thought out.
Finally, a seat opened up, so armed with chopsticks, an oshibori (hot towel), and a cup, off I went!
- Ordered the Wafu Tonkotsu Ramen Chashu-men
The ramen was served in 5 minutes. The slightly rich tonkotsu broth with a hint of fish stock aroma. It has a sweetness and a smoothness without any roughness, a high-quality Wafu tonkotsu. The thin noodles were coated generously with the soup and tasted delicious~ The chashu with its melty fat made me want to add extra rice, the bonito flakes that seemed like they could make a difference, they were good too. I couldn't resist the temptation even though it was only the second stop~ The pepper added during the meal, delicious! And the grated garlic added as well, delicious! However, since the original taste was good, I preferred it without pepper or garlic. As expected from a popular restaurant, not only the taste but also the broad perspective in managing the restaurant is impressive! Thank you for the meal.

Today, after watching a baseball game in Osaka, I felt like eating ramen, so I went to Menya Taku. It was after 6 PM and there was a line outside, it's a popular place! This time, I ordered tsukemen. The dipping sauce was thick and rich with seafood and pork bone flavor, it was delicious and disappeared in an instant, haha.

I came here because I wanted to eat tonkotsu ramen! It's about a 7-minute walk from Nishinagahori ✨ I arrived at around 2:30 pm and was about 7th in line. I debated between getting the mazesoba, but since there were a few more seats available for the tonkotsu ramen, I didn't have to wait long to get in. The restaurant smelled wonderful with the aroma of tonkotsu broth ☺️ Now, let's see how it tastes⁉️ The soup was a bit thick tonkotsu-based broth with a hint of bonito flavor, rich yet refreshing. The noodles were firm and chewy, made in-house, and cooked slightly al dente, which was great. Before I knew it, I had finished every last bit. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I have been going to a ramen shop near my home for over 10 years. Sometimes, I crave their addictive rich fish broth soup. Without hesitation, I go for the tsukemen with extra noodles. They have a ticket vending machine outside that accepts even 10,000 yen bills, so I buy my ticket first. The shop has only 12 counter seats. I grab a cup and a wet towel near the entrance and wait to be seated. I hand my ticket to the staff and order the extra noodles. They offer small, medium, and large portions for the same price, and you specify your choice when handing over the ticket. Soon, my tsukemen arrives! The noodles look shiny, topped with large bonito flakes, and the rich soup is visible. I dip the noodles in the soup and take a bite. Delicious! This is the pinnacle of fish-based broths. The noodles have a good texture and the bonito flakes add a perfect touch. The soup, despite its thick appearance, has a surprisingly light taste, so even those who don't like thick soups might enjoy it. I finished it in no time.

I enjoyed eating the thick and rich fish-based soup with chewy medium-sized noodles. The soup reminded me a little of a rustic satsuma soup. Although I'm not a big fan of thick chashu, the chashu here was delicious! I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

This is a ramen shop near Nishi-Nagahori Station on the subway. Kadoya Shokudo and Ikareta Noodle Fish Tons are also in the same area. I arrived at 1:30 pm and was able to enter without waiting, but more and more people started coming in afterwards. Phew, that was close... There is a ticket machine at the entrance, so you buy your ticket there. This time, I pushed for the rich tsukemen! Chopsticks, wet towels, and cups are placed on a shelf near the entrance, so don't forget to take them. (Chopsticks are also available in the chopstick holder at the table) You can choose the amount of noodles from small (1 serving), medium (1.5 servings), to large (2 servings). While waiting, I noticed that everyone was wearing MTV T-shirts. After about 15 minutes, the bowl arrived! Thick soup tsukemen! When you dip the noodles in the soup, a large amount of soup sticks to the noodles. Slurping it all at once, the rich pork bone umami is followed by a mellow sweetness rushing through your mouth. Delicious! The noodles are beautifully glossy yellow straight thick noodles, chewy and with a good texture. The bonito flakes on top of the noodles go well with the soup, harmonizing the umami of the soup and the umami of the flakes. The chashu has a tender fatty texture and a rough texture that really brings out the meatiness. The seasoned egg pairs perfectly with the soup's mellowness. When you sprinkle the garlic-infused shichimi and crunchy garlic chips on top, the spiciness of the shichimi and the crispy texture of the garlic chips are really nice. Adding a little grated garlic gives the flavor an extra punch, making it even more delicious. Despite the small amount, this tsukemen was surprisingly packed with flavor and very satisfying! Cheers!

I visited during lunchtime. I arrived 5 minutes before opening and was 4th in line. The shop opened on time with a total of 7 people waiting. The owner is said to be from "Menya Kagayaki," a pioneer of tonkotsu ramen in Osaka. The interior has a stylish feel with only 12 counter seats separated by partitions. I ordered the "Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen for 900 yen." It arrived in about 9 minutes. The soup had a good balance of tonkotsu, dried fish, kombu, and bonito flavors. The broth was rich and delicious with the best of both tonkotsu and fish flavors. The thin noodles were cooked just right, with a satisfying chewy texture. The noodle portion might have been a bit small, but the wheat flavor was rich and impressive. Toppings included pork belly, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, bonito flakes, and green onions. The pork belly was cooked well but lacked a bit of meaty flavor. Overall, it was a great bowl of ramen with a good balance between tonkotsu and fish flavors. I enjoyed it more than expected and would like to try their tsukemen someday. Thank you for the meal.

After work, I stopped by a local spot on my way home where it was surprisingly crowded with people. Apparently, there was a fireworks festival tonight! I decided to go for the rich dipping noodles again, which never disappoint. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you! (*´ω`*) (Update on 08/05/2023) Total of 134 bowls [Rich: 97, Regular: 29, Other: 08].

I happened to pass by and there was no line, so I took the chance to visit for the first time. The inside of the restaurant has individual counters, so even if you're alone, you can easily get a seat. Women will feel comfortable too. You buy a meal ticket outside and then enter. There were many types of ramen, but since it was my first time, I went with the classic one. I ordered the "Japanese-style Tonkotsu Ramen" for 900 yen. The service was very quick. The ramen had a bonito flavor, the soup was rich, the chashu was delicious, but the egg was only half. Overall, it was tasty, but I think once is enough for me. It might be tough if there's a line. Men might like it though!

Ramen shop in Nishi-Nagahori. I had the Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen for 900 yen. I went on a weekday for lunch and was seated right away! The Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen had a strong aroma of fish powder. It was delicious. I had high expectations because of the good reviews, so the rating ended up being a bit lower than expected.

I like fish and pork bone ramen, but I think it was tastier before. When I first started going there, the taste was simpler, but it seems to be getting thicker and saltier. Do famous fish and pork bone ramen shops tend to become more frothy and creamy? lol

I recently visited the well-known ramen restaurant, Menya Taku in Osaka, which is famous for its rich fish and pork bone broth. I ordered their rich tsukemen, which features a thick broth made from pork bone and fragrant seafood, paired with smooth and chewy thick noodles. I enjoyed the dish and look forward to trying their other menu items in the future. #ramen #osaka #tsukemen #noodles #seafood #porkbonebroth #delicious

Vol.77 "Menya Taku" is known for its homemade noodles and rich pork bone soup without artificial seasonings. Located in a somewhat rare area in Osaka, even visiting after 2 pm, there were still about 3 groups waiting in line at this popular restaurant. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen with a seasoned egg topping. The bowl arrived shortly, with neatly arranged toppings and a rich-looking soup. From the first bite, you can taste the Japanese-style flavor with a hint of bonito, maintaining its richness without being overwhelming. Delicious!! The thin noodles also had a satisfying texture, which was also great! They also provide condiments like pepper and garlic for flavor variations, allowing you to enjoy different tastes. Despite the rich soup, it's amazing that it's made without artificial seasonings! The thick slices of char siu also paired well with rice. The tsukemen also looked delicious, so for those who love dipping noodles, be sure to try it out.

I ordered the Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen and Seared Chashu Don. The combination of seafood flavor and rich tonkotsu broth is well balanced and delicious. Personally, I find overly rich tonkotsu broth to be overwhelming, but this one had just the right level of richness. The homemade thin noodles added a nice wheat aroma. The chashu was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal.

The maze-soba was the most delicious. It had a strong umami sauce, bonito flakes, and lightly seared chashu, all balanced perfectly. It's high quality and I would want to eat it again and again. You can get up to 1.5 extra servings of noodles for free. This is the best ramen shop.

W Soup!! Seafood and Pork Bone Ramen!! Menya Taku, a pioneer of Kansai-style seafood and pork bone ramen, is the originator of Menya Taku. Although there are now many branches, this one seems to be leading the way! I have been to the shop in Namba before, but this is my first time here. I visited on a Saturday at lunchtime, right at the opening time of 11 am. There was no line, and customers started to come in as soon as it opened. I ordered the Japanese-style pork bone ramen for 900 yen, the seared chashu bowl for 350 yen. The ramen had a strong animal-based flavor with a hint of sweetness, making for a perfect balance. The noodles were medium-thin and firm. It came with half a soft-boiled egg by default, and the chashu was melt-in-your-mouth juicy. The chashu bowl was also excellent. Thank you for the meal!

"Wafu Tonkotsu Ramen" for 900 yen. Today's noodles come from Menya Taku in Nishi-Nagahori. This shop is run by someone who used to work at Menya Kagayaki, a famous fish and pork bone ramen shop in Osaka. Just like the original shop, the specialty here is the rich fish and pork bone broth. It seems that they have already trained many apprentices here as well.
I arrived at the shop on a weekday evening right after opening, with already 5 customers ahead of me. Throughout my visit, customers were coming and going, creating a nice bustling atmosphere. I ordered the "Wafu Tonkotsu Ramen" from the ticket machine outside. Since I had read in advance that the ramen comes with half a seasoned egg by default, I decided to skip adding an extra one. I filled my water cup, took my seat as directed, and submitted my ticket. Despite the orders being prepared for the customers ahead of me, my ramen was served in about 8 minutes. The operation was quite efficient.
Now, let's dig in!
Soup: The broth is thick and rich, with a combination of animal and fish flavors. It has a traditional yet somewhat Japanese taste. Despite being rich, it also has a mildness to it, striking a nice balance.
Noodles: The noodles are slightly firm with a thin, wavy shape. They seem to have whole grain flour in them, with a strong flavor that complements the rich soup well.
Toppings: The pork belly is simmered and simply seasoned, balancing well with the rich broth. The half-seasoned egg that comes with the ramen adds not only visual appeal but also a delicious sweetness. The generous amount of green onions and the subtle flavor of bonito flakes all come together harmoniously.
Overall, this bowl of rich fish and pork bone ramen reminded me once again of how delicious it can be. I think I should also visit the shop where the owner originally trained.

It was raining this day... I had a chance to enter smoothly! The restaurant had high ratings on Tabelog, and I was able to get in without waiting at 6 PM! The restaurant was empty with only one customer inside. I bought a meal ticket from the machine outside and quickly chose my order (even though there was a guy waiting right behind me). I got the Char Siu ramen with nori topping and also ordered some pickled vegetables on rice! When the food arrived, it was delicious! As expected from a highly-rated restaurant on Tabelog! The garlic provided on the table was a nice touch too! I also had a second helping of noodles. It was so tasty! Thank you for the meal!

First visit. Went to a famous ramen shop near Horie. Ordered the rich tsukemen. It arrived in just over 10 minutes. It was very rich and you could really taste the umami of the pork bone. It was delicious, but I felt like I got tired of it halfway through. The mazesoba also caught my attention.

Arrived before 1 pm today. There were two groups waiting in line. Is it still relatively okay? I don't remember when I last visited, but it seems they have switched to a ticket system. You buy a ticket before lining up. The restaurant has 10 seats and only a counter. You can help yourself to a towel and a cup of water from a rack near the entrance. If you prefer disposable chopsticks, you can take them from the rack, otherwise they are available at the counter. Aprons are also available on the rack for you to take. Waited for about 15 minutes. It felt like a bit of a long wait for a ramen restaurant. This time, I ordered: - Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen 900 yen - Rich Tsukemen 1,000 yen The prices seemed to have gone up overall. Everything seems to be getting more expensive due to inflation. However, both the ramen and tsukemen were incredibly delicious! Well, the ramen was just good, but I really liked the tsukemen. Most places use seafood or dried fish as a base, but the rich tonkotsu was delicious! This is going to be a hit!!! So I will definitely go back!
