We couldn't get a reservation at our usual place, so we booked this restaurant instead. We enjoyed a course with offal hot pot and all-you-can-drink options. They had a slightly different menu compared to our usual spot, which was nice. It had been a while since we got together with this group, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for the meal! ♪

I happened to pass by during lunchtime and was intrigued by "Torimabushi," so I decided to stop in. Just as the name suggests, it is served in aHitsumabushi style, and each table has instructions on how to enjoy it. 1. Eat it as it is. 2. Add condiments like takana (pickled mustard leaf) and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) - they pair wonderfully! 3. Mix in a soft-boiled egg. 4. Enjoy it as a rice porridge with dashi (broth) and wasabi. It’s an entertaining experience, making for a delicious and fun lunch!

I visited Kyushu Izakaya Katete, located on the first floor of the APA Hotel, just a short walk from Hatchobori Station. The restaurant opened in June 2023, so it's just about to celebrate its first anniversary. There is another Kyushu Izakaya Katete in Hatchobori 1-chome, along with multiple locations in Kyobashi, Shintomicho, Kanda, and Shinbashi. The atmosphere here is completely different from the Hatchobori 1-chome location. The Hatchobori 1-chome Katete has a cozy ambiance with a warm wooden decor, while this one features a casual dining style with glass walls and noticeable aluminum materials.
The lunch menu is the same as the Hatchobori 1-chome location.

This time, I ordered a menu item that has caught my interest for a while.
**Order:**
- Chiran Chicken Murasaki - 1,320 yen
**Impression:**
The dish features the main ingredient, Chiran Chicken, served as tataki on top of rice, accompanied by a broth. You can enjoy it with broth poured over it. It comes with wasabi, grated ginger, and shichimi spice for adding flavor. The presentation shows the Chiran chicken laid out in the bowl with sauce drizzled on top. With the first bite, the tender texture of the slightly cooked chicken is exquisite. The sweet and savory sauce is rich and clings to the chicken well. Adding shichimi gives it a spicy kick, which makes it even more appetizing. Honestly, it was delicious!
Drizzling a little broth on it alters the rich sweet-savory sauce into a more delicate flavor profile. When adding wasabi and ginger, the satisfaction of the meal increases. I thought it was a very high-quality dish. Thank you for the meal! m(_ _)m

Sometimes, I feel like having a meal that consists mostly of vegetables. I found one at the first floor of the APA Hotel. I arrived on a weekday at 11:45 AM and there was no wait. After that, it was fully booked. I ordered "dago-jiru." What is that? It's a type of dumpling soup. It’s been a while since I enjoyed such a gentle-tasting lunch. Be careful with the silver ladle; it conducts heat well, so if you leave it in the iron pot, it can get very hot.

I usually use the main store, but it was fully booked, so I visited here for the first time. It’s located on the first floor of the APA Hotel. By the way, the restrooms are located in front of the hotel reception. I opted for the course with all-you-can-drink and enjoyed the delicious food just like I expected, having a fun time. Thank you for the meal!

This area has multiple izakaya chain restaurants, but this one feels the least crowded. Lunch prices range from 900 to 1200 yen, and you can refill your rice for free, which is a great value! On a weekday just past noon, the restaurant was about half full. It seems they have a policy not to seat parties of two at table seats, so some customers were shown to the counter instead (^_^;)
I ordered the chicken karaage set meal for 1100 yen, and it was served in about 10 minutes. There were six large pieces of karaage! The chicken itself had a mild flavor, but we had choices of grated ponzu sauce or mentaiko sauce, and there was yuzu pepper on the table as well. I would be even happier if the portion were smaller and the price was under 1000 yen. The amount was unexpectedly large, for better or worse (^_^;) Thank you for the meal!

I visited a Kyushu izakaya chain located on the first floor of the APA Hotel, which just opened last month, and is about a 6-minute walk from my workplace. They serve breakfast to hotel guests from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The restaurant is bright due to its large glass walls, but it’s completely visible from the outside (*_*). I ordered the "Chicken Nanban Set Meal" for 1,100 yen (including tax), with a smaller portion of rice. The Chicken Nanban, made with chicken thigh, is generously topped with homemade tartar sauce, and the chicken is wrapped in a crispy coating while being tender on the inside. I enjoyed it with the spicy mentaiko and pickled takana that came with the set, along with some homemade furikake from the table sprinkled on the rice. I left a bit of chicken nanban and a little rice uneaten. I told the female staff members, who I learned are from Myanmar, that it was delicious.

I ordered champon for lunch and it was delicious, with plenty of vegetables. Adding the seasoning from the table changed up the flavor, and I really liked it.

I ordered the fried chicken set meal and was surprised when it arrived! There were six large pieces of fried chicken, making it quite a hefty portion! The rice was unlimited, and both the homemade furikake and pickles were delicious, allowing me to eat a lot. The sauce was a spicy cod roe mayo, but they also had yuzu pepper, so I could enjoy it without getting tired of the flavors.

The hotel breakfast is included in the price, and I would rate its deliciousness ★★★, uniqueness ★★, and cost performance ★★★. The breakfast offers a variety of ingredients, allowing you to try a little bit of everything. The bread, in particular, is quite good and reminiscent of some ready-made lunches. Thank you for the meal!

On November 14, 2023 (Tuesday), a brand new hotel will open. It is conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from Exit A4 of Hachioji Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and a 2-minute walk from Exit B2 of JR Keiyo Line. It's also within a taxi fare of less than 1,000 yen from Tokyo Station. There are several APA hotels around Hachioji Station, so be careful not to mix them up! We made a last-minute reservation for our trip to Tokyo Disneyland. The plan we chose was approximately 15,000 yen per night, including breakfast. It’s getting harder to find hotels in the city, and prices are going up, so having a good location and breakfast included is a huge relief. If you want to order breakfast separately, it costs 1,500 yen in advance and 1,700 yen on the day. The breakfast is a buffet featuring many delicious dishes from Kyushu, including hearty and homemade options like "gameni" (braised root vegetables), fried chicken, grilled mackerel, and omelets. It makes me happy. Warm meals are so delicious. They really energize me in the morning. It was tasty. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
