すずめちゅん
On my way from Myōho to Shin-Sapporo, I spotted a pasta banner around the Kikusui area, and I suddenly wanted pasta so badly. I found this restaurant that I had bookmarked and decided to drop by. It turns out they serve as an izakaya (Japanese pub) at night. The interior is spacious with counter seats, table seats, and a raised tatami area, catering to customers in their 40s and 50s.
To order, you scan a QR code with your smartphone. They have a parking lot next to the restaurant with space for four cars. The menu features five types of base sauces: tomato, cream, peperoncino, tomato cream, and mentaiko cream. Each of these has 5-6 variations based on ingredients, totaling about 20 dishes.
I chose the "Shrimp Cream" pasta (1,474 yen) from the cream sauce options. After about 10 minutes of waiting, it was served in a flat stone pot, bubbling hot. The dish included five small shrimp and five small broccoli florets. The sauce was smooth and creamy, though for someone who enjoys bold flavors like me, I found it slightly lacking in saltiness. I thought it would be delicious with some grated cheese, but there weren't any condiments on the table or served with the dish, so I ate it as is.
The highlight was definitely the fresh pasta! It had a chewy, yet tender texture that was delightful to bite into; it was really tasty! My companion ordered "Garlic Shrimp" with the peperoncino sauce (also 1,474 yen). This dish also featured five small shrimp and five broccoli pieces, with a slightly tangy, garlicy, and mildly spicy sauce—very enjoyable!
For lunch, they offer two set menus that include a salad, a drink, and unlimited bread for an additional 418 yen. Adding a dessert raises the cost to 836 yen more. Since the cheapest pasta dish is 1,474 yen, the sets can feel a bit pricey. I'm curious about the mentaiko cream pasta, so I definitely plan to return. Thank you, "Shiroishi Branch"!
