It's been a while since my last post, and I had wanted to share a lot, but I ended up too drunk to do so… I'm sorry… Today, I’d like to introduce a sushi restaurant near Nakasu-Kawabata Station, located on the second basement floor. They specialize in tuna, so as a big fan of fatty tuna, I thought, "Oh? Shall we have a little competition?" and went inside. They open at 4 PM and have a happy hour, so I started with a draft beer. (I won’t mention what time I arrived.) While enjoying Sapporo draft beer, I followed the usual sushi restaurant flow and ordered a sashimi platter with three kinds. And then... Ahhh!!! I got namero (a type of minced fish)! Yes, namero. Along with the beer, I enjoyed tuna, salmon, and what I believe was amberjack (or possibly graduated to yellowtail). Hmm? Hmmmmm?? Hmmmmmmmmmm??? The amberjack (or yellowtail?) and salmon were delicious, but the tuna, wowwww!!!! (Total defeat). The namero was also exquisite!! Next, I ordered "Mitsuzakura" straight rocks and some sushi: fatty tuna, squid, and horse mackerel. Yikes, it was tasty (My kid is really into ninjas, and here I am, going along with “gozaru!”). After that, I ordered more tuna, my favorite akagai (surf clam), and the chef recommended “Yaito katsuo.” Yaito? First I’ve heard of it! After trying it, I discovered it was truly amazing!! There was no distinct fishy smell in the katsuo, and it had a sweetness to it, reminiscent of the taste between fatty and medium-fatty tuna. As I was starting to feel my thumb (from drinking) twitch a bit, I’ll end my report here. Wait, not a report, but a "re-port??" Yes, I’m currently indulging in my second piece of tuna. Tehepero (so outdated). So, the budget is a bit flexible. (Hey!) By the way, my assessment of the drinks is a little lukewarm; they do have my favorite imo shochu (sweet potato shochu), but the selection is limited… Next time I come, I hope they have Kirikubo, Akakutoba, Moriizo, or Ginban 50… (a bit demanding, aren't I?). Anyway, the akagai is sweet and delicious, so if you're curious, please be sure to try it! *Note: There’s one mistake in the brands mentioned. Alright, kids, see if you can spot it!! (You’re not watching, huh?)
