The special sauce is also on the lighter side. It may not be a flavor that goes well with rice, but if you're looking for a bold taste, adding garlic is recommended. - Assorted sashimi platter with 5 items for 1430 yen: The appearance suggests that it may be pre-packaged supermarket sashimi. Taste-wise, there are no major issues. - Horse sashimi for 1100 yen: This also seems to be a frozen pack with condiments. It was a meager portion of horse sashimi. - Draft beer (Sapporo Classic) for 600 yen - Sweet potato shochu (Kuro Kirishima on the rocks) for 600 yen - Sweet potato shochu (Ichiko-sha on the rocks) for 600 yen Overall, the prices seem high considering the taste and presentation. Locals probably wouldn't frequent this place.

Kushiro Gourmet Part 2: When in Hokkaido, you can't miss out on trying "Genghis Khan" - a dish that has become popular in the region. It is said that Genghis Khan spread in Hokkaido because when the Manchukuo state was established, sheep were raised on a large scale to produce military uniforms. The surplus sheep meat led to the development of Genghis Khan. One place in Kushiro where you can enjoy Genghis Khan is "Tenma", conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Kushiro Station. During my visit, I ordered only two dishes - "raw lamb meat" and "lamb rolls" (along with some drinks). The meat is cooked in the unique Genghis Khan pot, which helps remove the strong smell of fat. The sauce is added later, with plenty of chili peppers for extra flavor. The raw lamb meat was tender and delicious, with no gamey taste. As for the lamb rolls, they had a strong smell but were surprisingly tasty. The combination of chili peppers and wasabi soy sauce was perfect. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!

It was a lucky find to come across an open restaurant on a Sunday night in a small town. The sauce flavor wasn't exactly to my liking, but overall it was delicious. The Lamb Roll seemed to be made from formed meat. The Grilled Vegetables were a small resistance against a lack of vegetables. I left feeling satisfied and full. Thank you for the meal!

This is a report on Hokkaido (lol). I visited "Tenma," a restaurant near Kushiro Station where you can eat raw lamb jingisukan. I visited around 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday and was able to sit down right away as it was not crowded. There were counter seats, table seats, and even a raised seating area in the back. I started with a Sapporo Classic beer to relax (lol). When you order jingisukan, they bring a cassette stove and an iron pot. I ordered the "raw lamb jingisukan," "Suffolk cross lamb shoulder loin," "beef tongue," "takozangi," and finished with ice cream. The Suffolk cross lamb was incredibly delicious, so I ended up ordering it again! They also had seafood dishes available. There are many robatayaki restaurants in Kushiro, but finding a place where you can eat raw lamb jingisukan is rare and highly recommended! It was very delicious!! Thank you for the meal.

Business trip from Osaka to Kushiro. First night in Kushiro, went to Tenma-san for Genghis Khan. They open at 5 pm and people started coming in one after another. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. I ordered Sapporo Classic beer, raw lamb, lamb rolls, and grilled vegetables. The portion was huge. I grilled them myself. The taste was beyond my imagination, really delicious. The meat was tender and easy to eat. It can be tricky if you're not used to grilling quickly. The meat cooks fast, so I had to move it to a separate plate. The lamb rolls were especially easy to eat and delicious. It was my first time trying them. Also, the Genghis Khan sauce was incredibly tasty. I have no idea what's in it. I wanted to add garlic, but I had a meeting with clients the next day, so I decided against it. The portion was too much for one person, I'm sorry I couldn't finish it all. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal. The service was also good. It cost around 2800 yen. Tomorrow, I'll try seafood.

When I visited Kushiro on my trip, I definitely wanted to eat Genghis Khan in Hokkaido! I went without a reservation, but there were seats available. Although the ratings were low, the taste was actually great. The raw lamb Genghis Khan was delicious without any strong smell. It paired perfectly with Sapporo Classic beer in Hokkaido. Visited on January 14, 2019 with a friend. The original restaurant we planned to visit was closed, so we decided to try a Mongolian barbecue place near the station. We called ahead to see if they could accommodate two people, and despite the crowded noise in the background, they said it was okay. The restaurant, pronounced "Tenba," was quite smoky inside, possibly due to poor ventilation or the cold weather. We were seated at a table near the entrance, which was a bit cramped with no partitions between tables. We ordered a variety of dishes, including raw lamb, lamb rolls, chopped cabbage, beer, ginger ale, grilled vegetables, and extra rice. The lamb was cooked in the traditional Mongolian barbecue style, where you place the meat on top of the vegetables and let the juices drip down. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the sauce complemented it well. We also enjoyed the cucumber with plum, which was refreshing and well-balanced. Overall, we had a satisfying meal and left the restaurant full and content.

The lamb was thick and the sauce was delicious, the octopus tempura was also tender and good.

Near Kushiro Station, there is a yakiniku restaurant. I suddenly felt like eating Genghis Khan, but there are few places in Kushiro that offer Genghis Khan, so I visited Tenma. The interior of the restaurant has a counter and tables, with a cassette stove and Genghis Khan pot for grilling. In addition to Genghis Khan, they have a wide variety of menu items such as yakiniku, sashimi, and fried foods, making it possible to use as an izakaya as well. I ordered: - Beef tongue 1000 yen - Suffolk (shoulder loin) 1200 yen - Raw lamb 850 yen - Raw oysters (3 pieces) 700 yen The beef tongue was thickly sliced and the top quality beef tongue. It was juicy with a good amount of fat and incredibly delicious! It's quite a generous portion too. The Suffolk was shoulder loin, tender and without any unpleasant smell, so you can eat it quickly. The raw lamb was also thickly sliced and delicious - tender and tasty! The prices are a bit high, but considering the quality of the meat and the portion size, the cost performance is good! Tasty but feels a bit overpriced.

I didn't have the opportunity to visit this place because it's in a somewhat hard-to-reach location, close to the station but a bit far from the bustling area. I debated between the Zangi set meal and the Genghis Khan, but since it's a Genghis Khan restaurant, I ordered the Genghis Khan rice bowl for 780 yen. It came with a generous portion of rice, surprisingly ample meat, onions, Wakame seaweed, fried miso soup, two pieces of pickled vegetables, and a sauce to change the flavor. The meat, though slightly thicker and frozen, was still delicious. The Zangi set meal had four or five pieces of Zangi. The Genghis Khan set meal also included a tofu-like dish, but without the sauce to change the flavor. Looking at the menu, it seems like the grilled fish set meal always includes mackerel. I noticed a pot and a teapot on the table, which I realized were probably for tea when it was time to pay. It would have been nice if they served coffee instead.

The shop is located about a 3-minute walk from the station on Kitaodori. I had been curious about this place for a while, so I decided to visit for the first time. The specialty of this shop seems to be raw lamb. So, I ordered raw lamb and salted hormone. There are not many places in Kushiro where you can eat raw lamb Jingisukan, so that alone is appreciated. However, if it was cooked over charcoal in a Jingisukan pot with slits, I would have been even happier. But the combination of chili peppers and sauce goes well together and it was delicious. Also, the salted hormone was very tasty without any strong odor. It was a light type of hormone that didn't fill you up too much and I really enjoyed it. I also ordered the recommended dish of Pacific saury sashimi, which was very delicious. It's currently in season, so I recommend tourists to try it. Drinks are mostly around 500 yen each, and they seem to offer all-you-can-drink from 1500 yen. Considering the amount per drink, the all-you-can-drink option seems like a better deal. The menu also includes a variety of regular izakaya dishes and quite a selection of sashimi. For those who want to enjoy a variety of dishes with friends, this type of shop might be a good choice.
