I visited "Sanuki Udon Chiyuki" located in the center of Higashimachi, Tokawa Town for the first time. Despite arriving a few minutes before the opening time (11:00), I was asked to write my name in the register outside before being guided inside. I ordered the "Gobo Tempura Udon (hot) 750 yen" and the "Pork Bowl S 400 yen - 50 yen", while my companion ordered the "Aosa Nori Tamago Udon 850 yen". The tempura was served about 12 minutes later. The udon was freshly boiled with a nice chewy texture and went perfectly with the clear and gentle broth. The gobo tempura was surprisingly soft and sweet, made from whole gobo roots and was very delicious. The "Aosa Nori Tamago Udon" had plenty of aosa seaweed, giving it a rich and delightful flavor. Mixing in the warm egg made it even more flavorful. This restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes, including limited lunch menus for international students. With excellent customer service and consideration, and the use of delicious water from Tokawa Town, it's no wonder this place is becoming popular.

When I went to Higashikawa Town, I had been wanting to eat at this udon restaurant. It was a Sunday during the Obon holiday, and when I arrived a little after 11 o'clock, the place was already full. I wrote down my name and phone number inside the restaurant, looked at the menu while sitting on a chair outside, and decided on the "Chicken Tempura Udon (cold) and Pork Bowl (small)" for 1000 yen. Soon after, more and more customers started arriving. The restaurant only has parking for three cars, but there was a sign across the street at Sento Pia where it was okay to park. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was finally able to enter. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The crispy chicken tempura, chewy udon, and flavorful broth were all delicious. It's no wonder this place is so popular. I was able to buy the remaining pack of katsuobushi tsukudani for 150 yen after they made the broth. You have to clear your own table and get your own water, it seems to be the rule here. Despite being busy, the service was polite and I had a pleasant dining experience.

I checked on Instagram to confirm that the restaurant was open before visiting, as I had heard it might be closed. I arrived around 10:50 am and was immediately seated. I ordered my usual pork shabu-shabu with cold noodles. The restaurant quickly filled up with customers, and my order arrived in about 20 minutes. I added green onions, ginger, and tempura flakes to my dish and it was delicious! I couldn't stop eating. Even though I should chew slowly, I ended up eating quickly. By the way, you return your empty dishes yourself. The meal was really delicious today too. I want to try the pork bowl next time. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely come back!

This is a shop where there is always a long line no matter when you go. Today, I was able to sit down without waiting as I entered right when they opened. The place was full right after opening. I ordered the "meat and pork shabu-shabu udon" and it arrived in less than 20 minutes. The noodles, meat, and broth were all delicious! The noodles absorbed the broth well. Once I started eating, I couldn't stop! The topping of tempura bits soaked in broth was also delicious! It was an exquisite udon dish♪♪♪

Yesterday, I went on a drive to Higashikawa Town. For lunch, I went to a popular udon restaurant and had a set meal with tempura and pork bowl (medium size). The udon noodles were chewy and smooth, just as expected from a popular restaurant. The food was delicious, but we had to wait for over an hour because we arrived just after 12 pm. I was with my beloved dog, so I wasn't bored during the wait. I slightly regretted writing my name at the reception.

This is a very popular udon restaurant in Higashikawa. I didn't have a bento today, so I went there for lunch. It's been a while. The tempura udon and pork bowl set is 1150 yen. It's understandable why there's always a line, it's delicious. It seems they don't accept electronic money for payment. I wonder if they accept HUC cards??? I will definitely come back.

I had heard that Senkou-san was delicious, so I decided to try it on a cold day when it was snowing. I was drawn to the warm udon. When I entered, I had to write my name on a waiting list and wait for a chair to become available. There were three groups ahead of us, and they were calling to let people know when a seat was open. We were seated in a small raised area and I looked at the menu, struggling to decide. In the end, I also wanted to try the pork bowl, so I ordered the small chicken tempura udon and the small pork bowl. The broth was so delicious that I drank it all up. The noodles were my favorite type, and the chicken tempura had a slightly sweet seasoning. The pork in the bowl was a bit tough and hard to chew. Overall, I was satisfied and my friend was also very happy.

I visited a popular udon restaurant in Higashikawa for the first time. The tempura was crispy and the udon noodles were chewy and delicious. The shrimp was also crispy and the meat udon had a wonderful aroma. It was a Wednesday afternoon, but by 2 pm, they had already sold out of noodles.

On 21/09/16, I had the "Gobo Tempura Udon" for lunch during a business trip to Higashikawa Town. Today, I was out in the field with a new colleague who had recently switched from manual work to sales. He already seemed like a seasoned pro, being married with kids and all (laughs). I showed off my decades of experience in the entertainment industry to him. How about that, pretty entertaining, right? So, we ended up in Higashikawa Town. Of course, lunch was a must. I chose the Gobo Tempura Udon. We waited outside to avoid crowds, then we were seated inside and soon the Gobo Tempura Udon arrived. Wow! It's basically just whole gobo (burdock root) (surprised). In the past, the gobo tempura I've had was always the fried type. I was overwhelmed by the visual. When I took a bite, I was amazed by the exquisite sweet and salty taste. The texture was just like gobo, but the flavor was like a roasted sweet potato. According to the menu, they simmer the seasonal gobo diligently. The appearance and texture are all gobo, but the taste is not. I've never had gobo tempura like this before. Of course, the Sanuki udon and broth were solid in taste. I took a bite of the gobo tempura, slurped the udon, and sipped the broth. Ah, what a happy everyday life (tears). With a 100% emotional index, I finished it all. "The chicken tempura udon was so delicious," said the new colleague who tried the most popular dish. There are still plenty of dishes I haven't tried here. I'll keep coming back to aim for complete conquest. Cheers (^^)/

I heard it was a popular restaurant and had been curious about it for a while. The atmosphere is nostalgic, with calligraphy works by elementary school students displayed, creating a cozy feeling. I went during lunchtime and had to wait in my car for about 20 minutes, showing that it is indeed a popular spot. The seating is not extensive, but there were quite a few solo diners, and the turnover seemed to be good. The service was a bit hesitant at times, but they seemed busy. I ordered the chicken tempura udon. The noodles had a good texture and slid smoothly. The broth was clear and had a strong dashi flavor, very gentle. The generous portion of chicken tempura was tender with a flavorful coating. In conclusion, it is a place with authentic and delicious udon, generous portions, and affordable prices. It's no wonder it's such a popular spot.

During a business trip to Higashikawa Town, I had the "C set (small pork bowl + hot udon) for 750 yen" for lunch. I visited Higashikawa Town alone. When I left Asahikawa, it was sunny, but as soon as I started driving, it started snowing heavily. Oh well, nothing I can do about it. I decided to finish my work quickly and have some udon. Last time, I enjoyed cold udon. I wonder what hot udon is like? First, I took a sip of the broth. Mmm, incredibly delicious! The first thing I taste is the bonito flakes. Then, the subtle kelp flavor comes through. The light soy sauce goes perfectly with the broth, full of umami! The udon, with a smooth texture, is delicious even when hot. Now, onto the pork bowl. A piece of pork loin sits on top of a small portion of rice. I took a small piece for a close-up photo. Then, I ate it right away. Mmm, incredibly delicious! The sweet and salty sauce, combined with the pork loin, is exquisite. It's a taste that makes you want more rice! I dipped the udon in the broth, slurped it up, and then took a bite of the pork and rice. Before I knew it, I had finished the meal. This is amazing! I purchased some of my favorite pickled vegetables and left feeling satisfied. It was worth coming out in the bad weather. My whole family loves udon. Next time, we'll visit as a family.

I had the Pork Bowl S and Half Udon Mini with Tempura Chicken at Sanuki Udon Senko today. The set was perfect as I wanted to try the pork bowl, udon, and tempura chicken. They served delicious tea and simmered vegetables as starters. The sweet and savory simmered vegetables were tasty. The pork bowl and udon were served 10 minutes later. The bowl was full of tender pork with a flavorful sauce. The cold udon with light, flavorful broth was delicious. The udon was a bit soft but had a smooth texture all the way to the end.

During a business trip to Higashikawa Town, I had the "Chicken Tempura Udon Bowl for 750 yen" for lunch. I've been visiting Higashikawa Town a lot lately. Of course, the newbie in training was with me. Today's lunch received high praise, so we decided to try it out. The alluring Chicken Tempura Udon Bowl was calling my name. To avoid crowds, we waited for our seats outside. The gentle autumn breeze was quite pleasant. The newbie was pondering over the menu, trying to decide what to order. "Ganma-sama, party of two, your table is ready!" Oh, we've been called! In the end, we both decided to order the Chicken Tempura Udon Bowl. Gotta start with the popular menu items, right? Unexpectedly, the first dish that came out was the simmered fish flakes, and it was delicious. It was a sweet and savory dish made with dried fish and kelp... it was so tasty! I wish they sold this separately. The Chicken Tempura Udon Bowl was delicious (tears of joy). The chewy udon noodles were cooked perfectly, with a great texture. Despite being a cold dish, the broth was surprisingly light. However, the flavor of the ingredients really shined through, leaving nothing lacking. It was a broth that you could easily drink up. The large piece of chicken tempura was crispy and tasty. Its size didn't make it feel overwhelming, and it was so delicious that you couldn't get tired of it. I devoured it in no time. The newbie also finished their meal quickly. "It was delicious!" After eating, I went to the register and saw that they were selling the simmered fish flakes. Of course, I bought a pack. I definitely want to come back here again. "It's fine to have lunch here again." Thanks, newbie! Another visit is definitely confirmed!

The days in September continued to exceed 30 degrees Celsius, but on this day it was raining and the temperature dropped. I had a day off from work, so I went out for lunch. I headed to a popular udon restaurant. The restaurant opens at 11 am, but when I arrived after about 30 minutes, there was already a line. However, since udon is served quickly, the wait wasn't too long. I was seated at the counter and after some consideration, I ordered the Aosa Nori Udon. I was looking forward to the flavor of the seaweed. The restaurant was bustling with customers coming and going. The udon arrived and it was delicious. The udon itself was tasty, cooked to perfection. And the broth was amazing, not too strong but with a good depth of flavor. When combined with the seaweed, it was gentle, and adding a beaten egg enhanced the richness. After finishing my bowl, I felt completely satisfied. It's rare to find Sanuki-style udon in Hokkaido, so it's a treat for locals. This is a restaurant I would like to visit regularly.

"Aosanori Udon (half size) for 700 yen in September 2020. Located in the town of Higashikawa, this popular udon restaurant uses delicious water from Higashikawa to make freshly made Sanuki udon. There was a bit of a wait, but it was less than expected due to the not-so-great weather. I wrote my name and waited for about 30 minutes before being called in to the restaurant. They served a complimentary side dish of pickled vegetables in broth. I ordered the 'Aosanori Udon' in half size, which was discounted by 100 yen. The half size portion was smaller but still quite filling, with a warm egg in the middle. The udon had a generous amount of Aosanori seaweed, and the clear and gentle broth had a nice aroma and flavor. Even in the hot weather, the warm udon was satisfying. The neighboring table had ordered the Tempura, which looked impressive with three large pieces. It seems like the Tempura dishes are also popular here. Overall, it was a great meal. If you plan to visit, it might be a good idea to stagger your visit to avoid the long line. Thank you for the meal!"

We drove to Higashikawa and went shopping at mont-bell before looking for a place to have lunch with the family. Many of the restaurants in the area were closed on Wednesdays, but the staff at mont-bell recommended this relatively new Sanuki udon restaurant. We arrived around 12:30 pm and the place was packed. There were four 4-person tables and about 6 counter seats (there might have been more in the back). The menu had many enticing options, but we went for the reliable tempura chicken udon for 950 yen. It took about 15 minutes for our orders to arrive. The udon was beautifully white and chewy, topped with a large piece of tempura chicken. The portion was huge. The chewiness of the udon was just right, with a mochi-like texture and a strong wheat flavor. The tempura chicken was crispy and fresh. The broth was very refined, slightly light when dipping the tempura chicken but perfect with the udon. We also ordered fried green peppers, which turned out to be delicious. By the time we left, there was a long line outside, with many office workers in suits waiting to have lunch. It seems like a popular spot for local workers. Overall, it was a high-quality Sanuki udon restaurant. It seems like the delicious water in Higashikawa contributes to the tasty udon. Thank you for the meal! ✨

On March 6, 2020 (Friday) at 12:15, I visited a second restaurant in Higashikawa Town. I went to this udon restaurant, which was almost full during lunchtime on a weekday. It's a popular place! I had the Niku Udon (hot) for 900 yen. First, I tried a sip of the amber-colored broth. Wow! This is authentic Sanuki broth. It's the first time I've had such a strong flavor of dried fish broth at a udon restaurant in Hokkaido. It's really delicious! The noodles were smooth on the surface and had a chewy texture, just like the rustic noodles from Sanuki. Delicious! The meat was thinly sliced pork belly. There was plenty of meat and noodles, making it very satisfying! I was able to enjoy authentic Sanuki udon in Higashikawa Town. The pork bowl that my mother was eating also looked delicious, so I would like to try it next time!

There is a shop in Higashikawa Town, Hokkaido. It is about a 40-minute drive from Asahikawa. Higashikawa Town is the only town in Hokkaido without a water supply system. This is because the snowmelt water from the Daisetsuzan Mountains penetrates deep underground and reaches Higashikawa Town. You can drink delicious underground water. The noodles made with this water felt like every aspect, from the texture to the elasticity, was carefully calculated. The delicious water enhances the flavor of the broth and various ingredients. I ordered the meatball udon. The noodles were delicious, but the bonito flavor and the tasty pork... everything was incredibly delicious!

I happened to see a feature on World Business Satellite about a couple who had a dream of running an udon restaurant and decided to move to Higashikawa Town because they wanted to do it in a place with clean water. When I visited a restaurant by chance, it turned out to be the one from the feature! The water served was delicious and smooth, the cheerful mother inside the shop provided great service, and the tempura udon that came out was just... so delicious that I couldn't find any other words to describe it! I drank every drop of the broth and left satisfied. Chiyuki, the couple who turned their dream into reality. Definitely worth a visit. I will definitely come back again!!!
