On a certain weekday, I suddenly had some free time and decided to visit a famous coffee specialty shop in the Maruyama area that I usually don't have time to go to. I was relieved to find a parking lot with a few spaces behind the building. The interior of the shop was relatively compact with no tables, just shelves displaying beans, a glass window showcasing a splendid roasting machine, a reception counter, and a demonstration counter where they brew coffee. From the menu, I chose a bean called "Costa Rica La Candelilla (604 yen)", which seemed unfamiliar as a country. The staff kindly explained the beans to me, and the coffee was brewed using a novel paper drip method with precise timing. After taking a sip... Wow, it's delicious. It had a relatively light impression with a slight lack of bitterness, refreshing acidity, sweetness, and a good flavor profile and body. Even with a mask on, I feel confident that I could distinguish this coffee from convenience store coffee. Perhaps due to the current situation in the world, prices may have increased since last year, but I am grateful that I can still enjoy such a precious and delicious coffee. Thank you for the meal.

Introduced by a local Tokyoite, this coffee shop has enhanced my morning coffee experience. During another personalized consultation, I was recommended two different types of coffee from the last time: one fruity and one rich. El Salvador Santa Lita had a fruity aroma reminiscent of wild strawberries. I used to not be a fan of acidity in coffee, but the beans roasted by this shop have changed my preference, introducing me to a new world of flavors for which I am grateful. The owner mentioned that several customers had visited based on shooting star reviews. While Eatlog is mainly the main site for reviews, it is still heartwarming. I want to express my gratitude here. I hope you were satisfied. My supply of coffee is running low, so I will have to come back to restock soon...

The moment I entered Alchemist Coffee near the zoo in front of Sekoma, the wonderful smell of coffee hit me! They carefully taught me how to brew coffee and their hospitality was top-notch! Coffee lovers, please check it out! #Hokkaido #Sapporo #Chuo-ku #Miyanomori #coffee

Sapporo Chuo-ku Miyanomori is a specialty coffee roaster with the theme of "coffee that blows wind in your heart" at the intersection of Araiyama. Its feature and strength is the "coffee counseling" provided to each customer. The owner and roasters enthusiastically and humorously demonstrate, offer samples, and make recommendations on the coffee they handle. The atmosphere is like a "Miyanomori Coffee Theater".
- Indonesia Mandheling Pollung Alfiner: A coffee with a mild acidity and a strong, earthy aroma. It is easy to drink but has a unique, bold flavor.
- Dominica Princesa Winy Natural: This coffee has a sharp and vibrant aroma like ripe fruit. It has an elegant and rich flavor reminiscent of fine wine, with a smooth and beautiful finish.
The shop has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a focus on providing a comfortable experience for all customers, including the elderly. They are skilled at explaining their concept and offerings in a friendly and informative manner. The quality of their coffee is top-notch, and they strike a perfect balance between expertise and approachability.
I received two types of coffee from a friend, and both were excellent choices. The packaging includes cards with detailed information about the origin and producer of each coffee, which adds to the enjoyment of the experience. The ground coffee provided was convenient for daily use, as it can be easily brewed without the need for grinding. Overall, this shop offers a high-quality and clever selection of specialty coffees that can enhance your daily coffee experience.

The parking lot should have about 2 spaces in front of the store and a little further away. This place is where I first discovered the basic taste of coffee for myself. You can enjoy tasting different coffees and have a fun time with detailed explanations. The coffee here is easy to drink, and even friends who don't like coffee can drink black coffee from here. While most coffee in Hokkaido is dark roasted, this place has a lighter image. It may not be suitable for those who like depth and bitterness in their coffee. Coffee preferences can vary, so trying an easy-to-drink Mandheling coffee here is recommended. They also have rare beans and are okay for souvenirs! I used to visit regularly since they opened, but since I found a unique blend coffee at "Kurabeya Wakaru Sa" bakery in Kotoni, I have been buying coffee here due to transportation convenience.

I was finally able to make my first visit of the year. I greeted the new year and sampled coffee for gifts and home use. This time, two new beans have arrived, so I did a tasting. ● El Salvador Santa Lita "Fruity flavor reminiscent of wild strawberries" In the first half, you can feel a fruity flavor like wild strawberries, and in the second half, a chocolate-like body. To bring out the wonderful flavor of Santa Lita to the fullest, our roastery has experimented with a light-medium roast for the first time. You can enjoy a strongly fragrant coffee experience! Roastmaster Andy passionately explained. The first feeling is a traditional taste that gradually spreads to a fruity sensation. Then it changes to bitter. It's a good one. I brought it home right away. It seems like this month will be a time where a pleasant breeze blows through my heart. ☺︎

Visited Alchemist for the monthly coffee subscription and was aiming for Andy's financiers, but they had a limited edition parfait instead. The Apple Parfait had a delightful texture from the apples, with cinnamon and rosemary accents adding a fun twist to the flavor. It was like a toy box of enjoyment! Andy's sense of taste deserves applause. The cinnamon and rosemary worked really well together. It paired perfectly with the Ethiopian coffee. Thank you for the meal!

Monthly visit to the familiar place, Miyano Mori Alchemist Coffee. This time, I stopped by after enjoying the autumn leaves at Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium. Luckily, they had just received 4 new types of beans, so I had the opportunity to do a tasting.
- Ethiopia Yirgacheffe G-1 Sheferaw Bandla Natural
Described as having flavors of cinnamon, black tea, and cassis, this new bean is highly praised worldwide for its unique taste. It is a light roast with a rich depth that allows you to experience various flavors in just one cup.
- Guatemala Esperanza
A complex mix of flavors that includes juicy sweetness, elegant acidity, and a smooth depth. This captivating cup offers an indescribable experience as the flavors change multiple times in your mouth.
- Costa Rica Miralros
Described as having a black honey-like sweetness after a deep richness. This cup brings a subtle sweetness reminiscent of black honey after the bold flavors. It's truly a delightful experience.
- Nicaragua Laguna
With a heavy yet refined flavor that resembles rum raisins, this new bean offers a deep and sweet taste. Slightly sharper than the previous Nicaraguan beans.
Also, Andy's special Financier with cinnamon and salted chocolate is a must-try. This moist Financier is specially made to complement the coffee, with a perfect balance of salt that enhances the coffee experience. Be sure to try it when you visit!

Miyanomori Alchemist Coffee in Sapporo's Miyanomori Palace Forest is a coffee specialty shop that roasts coffee beans and offers tasting sessions for customers to compare and diagnose different flavors. You can also enjoy a delicious cup of coffee made from the beans available. Located at the foot of a ski jump venue outside the city center of Sapporo, the shop closes around 1:00 PM due to roasting activities. You can sample three types of beans, including light roast, medium roast, and dark roast, while learning about the differences in origin. On this particular day, the specialty coffee was "Rwanda Nyarusiza CWS Baro" (medium roast from Rwanda), which offers a unique experience with changing flavors from grapefruit-like citrus notes at the beginning to a rich and heavy flavor towards the end. It's a great place to enjoy a variety of coffee experiences. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Sapporo's popular coffee bean shop, Dominica Princess Winey Fresh! Light! Fruity! Enjoy the surprising acidity of Mandelin Polun Alfinamandelin with a hint of earthy fruit flavors. The richness and bitterness are subtle, with a sharp finish that lingers in your mouth. The complexity of flavors is unexpectedly delightful. The advertisement may not do justice to how delicious this coffee truly is. The description of "wind" on their website is spot on.

I went for my monthly counseling session at Alchemist Coffee, where they have introduced a machine that increases production by five times and enhances the aroma. The counseling space has also been renovated. This month, I had a session with Andy. Unfortunately, Andy's specialty coffee jelly was sold out, but I found three types of financiers at the counter: red bean milk, Italian sea salt, and plain. I chose the sea salt flavor, which paired well with Indonesian coffee at home. The moist financier had a crisp finish with the sea salt. I also brought home three types of coffee for the month ahead. Grateful for another month of enriching experiences. Looking forward to the future.

I have been to this place a few times with friends. I like the roasting level they offer. They have a parking lot, so it's easy to visit. It's not a café, but a shop that sells beans. They also offer takeaway drinks. They brew three types of beans for you to taste and choose your favorite. I had the Dominican Princess Waini as an iced drink and it was delicious. I generally prefer light roasts. I'm also a fan of Andy's coffee. They are open from 1 pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but have limited operating days.

I had heard about Alchemist Coffee from various sources for a while and finally got the chance to visit thanks to a super foody in Hakodate. The shop is located at the foot of the jump on Miyanomori. The parking lot is located around the back near the intersection. Inside the shop, there is a roasting machine, and the coffee is roasted here. They offer several types of coffee. The staff will let you taste different coffees through a coffee counseling session. It's great to see that high-quality beans are becoming more accessible to consumers these days.

Family planned a trip to Hokkaido. Despite booking a Michelin-starred restaurant for lunch, I was feeling irritated. Even though we still had an hour until our reservation time, we had already arrived at the location. It was in a suburban area of Sapporo, with only a small park and a closed coffee shop in a residential area, making it impossible to pass the time. What should we do... I was pondering when the sign of the coffee shop in front of us turned to open. We had to go in! The coffee shop, or rather "Miyano Mori Alchemist Coffee," was a new coffee specialty store that had only been open for 9 months. Inside the stylish store, carefully selected coffee beans from around the world were displayed, and you could even roast and taste them here. Although it seemed like they were not open yet, they opened just for us. How kind of them... I usually don't drink coffee at all. Even when I do, it's a child-friendly version with lots of milk and sugar. However, this was a specialty store, so only black coffee was available. Even so, since they were accommodating us, I couldn't complain. I chose a relatively fruity coffee bean from the many options available. As we relaxed at the outdoor table for a while, the staff member who had served us earlier came running from the convenience store. In their hands was milk chocolate. "I thought it would go well with the coffee! Please have some if you'd like!" How incredibly kind...!!! They had specifically bought it for us who didn't like black coffee! How thoughtful...!!! The chocolate we hesitated on was a perfect match with the coffee, reducing the bitterness and making it easy to drink. Later on, when I accidentally placed my bag on the ground, they brought out a spare chair from inside to prevent it from getting dirty. Their hospitality was amazing! Even though we only ordered two coffees... Thanks to the warm hospitality of the staff, the coffee we drank here tasted exceptionally delicious. From being irritated a while ago, I suddenly found myself feeling warm and fuzzy, thanks to the warm coffee and hospitality. I am grateful for the chance encounter brought about by coincidence.

Alchemist Coffee in Miyanomori offers coffee counseling services. Upon arrival, you will be asked if you want to shop or receive counseling, and then you will be attended to at the counter. During the counseling session, you will learn about the characteristics of different types of coffee beans, such as aroma, aftertaste, and flavor. You will choose one type of bean from light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. Then, you will taste three freshly brewed coffees (3 types). It is recommended not to drink anything before your visit due to the generous volume of coffee. This time, I brought home the "Dominica Princesa Winey ☕️" which has a fragrant and rich aroma like red wine and figs. It offers a satisfying aftertaste. This coffee shop, favored by Michelin-starred chefs, is a great companion for staying at home or for quiet and relaxing moments. The shop is closed on Mondays to Wednesdays for roasting, so shopping or counseling is only available from Thursdays to Sundays. If you are a coffee lover, want to become one, or are looking for your perfect coffee, be sure to visit. You can choose to take out a single cup (¥450~) or 100g•200g of coffee. By adding the shop on LINE and showing your friend screen during purchase, you can receive a special gift every time. I registered on the spot and got a specialty coffee bag (1 cup worth) as a gift, which made the experience even more exciting. Thank you very much.

A little while ago, during the weekend stroll series. I wanted to drink delicious coffee at home while working remotely, so I made a detour to a popular shop. By the evening, the beans were sold out due to its popularity, and when I first visited, there was no page on Tabelog, but now there is, so I will review it. As soon as you enter the store, you can smell the aroma of freshly roasted coffee. When I mentioned that it was my first time there, they provided counseling. You can choose your favorite beans by tasting and comparing three types: light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. Even with a mask on, you can easily distinguish the difference in coffee aroma. I want to do a tasting at home, so I bought 100g each of the light roast Brazil Cerego and the dark roast Mandheling for a coffee break during work. The Brazil has a tropical fruit-like aroma with sweetness, almost like drinking fruit tea. It's a unique taste that even tea lovers might enjoy. The Mandheling, although a dark roast, has a lighter taste compared to other shops, with a more noticeable bitterness. I recommend it for those who prefer bitterness over acidity. I also want this immersion-style dripper. I want it so badly that I've decided to buy it if they have it in stock when I go back on the weekend (laughs). Thank you for the meal♪

I am very happy that they not only offer coffee tasting, but also adjust the grinding of the beans according to your preference. The dripper they use in the shop is excellent. Once you try it, you can't go back. The quality of the beans is high, so the price is a bit expensive, but I highly recommend it.

First visit. The parking lot was in the back. Upon entering the store, I was asked if I wanted takeout, to purchase beans, or to taste and purchase my favorite coffee from the displayed items. I chose to taste without hesitation. I selected three types of coffee - light roast, medium roast, and dark roast - with detailed explanations for each. They brewed the coffee right in front of me. While waiting for it to be ready, I received clear and detailed explanations, even as an amateur. I eagerly sampled each one as they were ready. Each had a distinctive flavor, and I was surprised at how different the same coffee could taste. It was my first time doing a comparison tasting, and I was impressed by the depth. After finishing the tasting, I was undecided on which one to buy, but ended up purchasing all three that I had sampled. Personally, I think the Indonesia Mandheling was my favorite. It had a deep, rich flavor that made me feel like I was really drinking coffee! (This is the opinion of a complete amateur with an unrefined palate.) I heard it's the most popular one. But honestly, they were all delicious. I would love to go back again to try the others. The staff's hospitality made it a delightful and enjoyable experience. Thank you very much.
