I arrived at the store around 3:00 PM in July 2023. There were many customers before and after me, and it was my first time visiting. I had heard rumors, but it was huge! I was surprised to find such a big supermarket in Nakashibetsu. I wanted to try the omurice onigiri, but I'm on a diet so I resisted. The salmon onigiri I had was big and had lots of salmon inside, which was great. The saltiness of the salmon matched well with the rice. There were so many side dishes I want to try more! They also have a wide variety of Costco products. Nakashibetsu is truly impressive. I wish we had a supermarket like this in Kushiro.

In September 2021, I decided to visit a supermarket that I don't usually go to as part of my "Let's try going to a different supermarket" series. I drove to Nakashibetsu, which has a Tobu supermarket. There is also one in Tanano, but both locations offer items that you can't find in Kushiro. I was intrigued by the onigiri (rice balls) section, where they had giant onigiri and a variety of fillings, all hand-rolled. I decided to buy a regular salmon onigiri and a cod roe onigiri, along with a curry croquette. I ate them in the car in the parking lot, and they were delicious. The onigiri had a homemade feel with generous fillings, and the croquette had a sweet onion flavor with a nostalgic curry taste. I ended up eating three out of the five croquettes, despite feeling some heartburn later. It was worth it, and I might come back to Tobu just to buy these croquettes again. Thank you for the meal.

When I first came to Tobu South Hills, I was amazed. Naka Shibetsu Town is one of the largest towns in the whole prefecture, as I have mentioned before, but it is unlikely to become a city in the future. There are many smaller cities than here. I couldn't resist my wife's request to go to Naka Shibetsu, so I obediently followed. I actually wanted to go to Obihiro, but I listened to her request. We ate soba and then let my wife lead the way. How many people can guess who I am talking about? I will go around with my notes as a reference. I really like the supermarket inside Tobu South Hills. It's amazing to have a supermarket like this in such a town. The parking lot is always full. I enjoy looking at various spices and seasonings. My wife saw garlic sprouts and decided to buy chives instead because garlic sprouts were expensive. Lately, my wife has been making smoked foods almost every day, and they are delicious. Today, she seems motivated to make smoked salmon. She carefully chose a small one because she was worried about cooking it thoroughly. I am looking forward to it too. We will be late coming back, so we decided to buy some side dishes. I found discounted zangi with a sticker on it. In another section, there was a demonstration selling shrimp fry. I picked olives for wine, and my wife bought raisins near the register. Chives, small shrimp fry, milk, zangi, olives - my wife said seedless olives are not tasty, but I still bought them. I ate five, and the rest are still in the fridge. What should I do with them? The zangi was so bad that my wife put a "not good" sticker on it. It was really inedible. So, she said to warm it up. The burnt part is not good, so be careful. If you focus too much, smoke will come out. Well, you can tell a bad tanuki by its eyes, so zangi is what it is. Maybe expecting more would be a mistake. The shrimp fry was the last dish we bought from the deli. The batter wasn't good. The smoked salmon of the komai was actually delicious. That's all for the supermarket report. The rest is up to you.
