During my solo trip, I visited this restaurant at the Shikaribetsu-koen Station as it was the only one open. The exterior and interior looked a bit dirty, which made me doubt its hygiene. The service was slow as the owner was handling everything alone. I ordered the beef toro bowl, which tasted average, not bad but not delicious either. The owner kindly explained how to eat it. Considering the high prices, I probably won't visit again, unless there are no other options around.

I stopped by to take shelter from the heavy rain. It was very crowded. The old man running the place seemed to be busy, so it might be tough when you're in a hurry. But if you have time, you can pass the time by shopping for local products while you wait. The mixed fry set meal is great because you can choose the contents. The rice portion was huge!

I went to a restaurant called Osaka-ya for a meal! It is a dining hall located inside the Sorachi Village Michi-no-Eki. When you enter, the interior is very spacious and quite smoky. At the entrance, there is a recommended mixed fry set meal, which seems to be the specialty of the restaurant. The owner is alone, and there is one customer who arrived 30 seconds before me. The only other customers are an elderly couple. I ordered soy sauce ramen for 700 yen. The mixed fry set meal was served to the customer before me, and my ramen was ready in about 4 minutes. The noodles looked very soft, and the ramen bowl was small with a small amount of soup. There were black specks floating in the soup. Overall, it seemed a bit overcooked, perhaps due to the black soup. The noodles, bamboo shoots, and fish cake all seemed to be stained black. The bamboo shoots seemed different though. The noodles were extremely soft, just as they appeared. It was a shame because the soup was delicious. I would have loved to try it with the noodles cooked to the usual firmness. The soup had a rich flavor and was quite tasty. It was a really good ramen, but it felt like a missed opportunity. I hope to try it again next time and see if it's the same. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went here. While on the way, I stopped by a Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) to have lunch. Out of the 3-4 restaurants there, only 2 were open. After some deliberation between a soba shop and another place, I ended up choosing... The interior of the place had a vintage feel, with an old man running the place single-handedly, who seemed quite cheerful. There weren't any particularly unique items on the menu, so I decided to go with the Zangi Curry for 750 yen including tax. Although it sounds Hokkaido-like, it's essentially a fried chicken curry. It arrived in about 10 minutes, with 2 pieces of Zangi in the curry. I wished the Zangi were placed on top of the rice while still crispy, but they were inside the curry. The chicken was tender, with a crispy coating. The curry was quite spicy, but tasty. The rice was a bit sticky, but I guess it's acceptable for this kind of place. Overall, it was a good meal. The spicy curry was enjoyable. However, if you're looking for a place for a date or specifically want something Hokkaido-like, it might be better to look elsewhere.

It has a somewhat intimidating atmosphere (laughs) that I wouldn't normally enter. I was hungry, so I reluctantly decided to have lunch. I ordered the specialty beef toro bowl. It was quite delicious. It's rare, which I like. The warm rice makes it have a semi-raw texture.

I wanted to quickly have lunch, so I ordered the curry that was listed as "for those in a hurry." It seemed like the person managing everything was busy, but the wait time was about 5 minutes, which was quicker than I expected. The curry was served in a small dish with about four sausages and a side of fukujinzuke. The curry itself was a salty roux curry with noticeable black specks. It was so salty that it made my temples throb after just one bite. I managed to finish it, but it felt like a time attack. Ah, I see! It makes sense because you really have to put in effort to eat it quickly when you're short on time. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the cheese curry at the restaurant in the Michinoeki Shimukappu in Sankappu Village. Since it's a roadside station, there are always a lot of customers. The cheese in the cheese curry had a unique taste, but I wonder how the other menu items are.

During a business trip, I wanted to eat udon, so I boldly ordered "Tsukimi Udon" without considering the situation. It seemed like the place was run by just one person, but it was okay. The interior of the restaurant was old but seemed clean. It took some time for the udon to arrive (not recommended for those in a hurry). The bowl was made of ceramic. The green onions added nice color, and surprisingly (sorry), it was delicious. As a drive-in, it passed the mark, with a good variety of menu options and cost performance.

The restaurant is located at the Michinoeki Shizen Taikan Shimukappu in Shimukappu Village, Hokkaido. There are hardly any other dining options in the area, so when it comes to meals, this place is pretty much the only choice. A certain TV show apparently featured their specialty dish, the "Gyu Toro Don" (beef rice bowl), as there is a sign in front of the store. However, I decided to go with the set meal menu written on a whiteboard, which includes a mix fry set where you can choose three items from options like menchi katsu, beef croquette, potato croquette, fried horse mackerel, white fish fry, and zangi for 800 yen. After some consideration, I opted for two fish fries and a beef croquette. You can also get a large serving of rice for an additional 100 yen. The fries were crispy and cooked just right, making them quite delicious. With three pieces of fry in the set, it was quite filling. The rice seemed like it had been in a rice cooker for a long time, but given that it was a weekday with not much customer traffic, it was understandable. However, there were a few things that slightly bothered me aside from the food. It seems like the owner is running the place alone, dressed in a tracksuit and jersey that don't quite fit the typical image of a restaurant kitchen. It felt like they had just come out as they were lounging at home. While this may be acceptable in a rural setting, the owner's attitude was a bit arrogant. When I ordered a large serving of rice but received a regular portion, they only fixed it after I pointed it out. Also, when I asked if I could pay with a credit card at the checkout, the response was, "You can't use that around here." While it may be true that credit cards are not commonly accepted in this area, there could have been a more polite way to communicate this. It's common for restaurants to experience a temporary surge in customers after being featured on TV, but it can lead to the owners becoming arrogant, ultimately resulting in the decline of the establishment. Despite serving reasonably tasty food, I hope this place doesn't fall into that pattern.

To get to Tomamu, you take the highway from Sapporo. Just before Chitose, we switched to a new route and stopped at a roadside station for lunch since there were no service areas. I had curry udon for 600 yen, while my friends all had ramen. Surprisingly, there was no miso ramen on the menu, and the salt ramen was sold out. It was disappointing for the kids who were looking forward to miso ramen. I ended up ordering soy sauce ramen, but it seemed like they were just trying to push that because they were out of the sauce for the salt ramen. It was only 12:30, but they warned us that it would take a while to prepare our meals. There was only one other group of customers, and it seemed like they weren't very motivated to cook. When my curry udon arrived, it was a strange combination of curry rice sauce poured over the noodles, topped with green onions. The noodles were overcooked and the vegetables were not well-prepared. It would have been better as a soupless udon. I will avoid recommended set meals if they take a long time to prepare. An elderly couple who came in later also received the same warning. It was only 12:30, but it seemed like they were not welcoming to new customers despite the "tourists welcome" appearance from the outside.

This is a review of the restaurant "Oosaka-ya" located in the Michi-no-eki (roadside station) in Sapporo Village. The roadside station "Shizen Taikan Shimukappu" is located about 1 km from the Shimukappu IC on the Doto Expressway. The restaurant "Oosaka-ya" is one of the several dining options available at the roadside station. The exterior of the restaurant looks like a typical tenant store, and the interior gives off a standard diner vibe with a spacious seating area including counter and table seats, as well as a raised seating area where you can relax your tired feet. The signboard of the restaurant recommended their signature dish, the Shoyu Ramen and Katsudon. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen as suggested and it was served in a melamine dish, which was a bit surprising. The soup had a rich flavor with a refreshing aftertaste, and the noodles were slightly chewy. The chashu was flavorful and would go well with rice. Overall, the ramen was delicious, but the melamine dish was a downside. Despite the initial impression, the ramen exceeded expectations. A group of 10 construction workers, who seemed to be regular customers, also ordered the Shoyu Ramen, indicating its popularity. I recommend trying the Shoyu Ramen at this restaurant.

On a Sunday afternoon around 2 o'clock, I got hungry while driving so I stopped by this restaurant nearby. There was a sign on the window saying "TV-featured beef and rice bowl" so I decided to try that. Inside the restaurant, there were a few sunken kotatsu tables, a large round table in the middle, and counter seats. It seemed like the owner was running the place alone, with two couples in the sunken tables and the other two seats were left with dirty dishes. The counter was also cluttered with used dishes. I sat at the counter and ordered the beef and rice bowl, which arrived a few minutes later. The owner told me, "It won't taste good unless you mix it well!" I wish they had said something like, "It tastes better when mixed well" instead. Despite the somewhat chaotic atmosphere, the food was delicious. The owner seemed busy, so maybe that's why they didn't pay much attention to cleanliness. Overall, it was a decent experience because the beef and rice bowl was tasty.
