Curry zangi, fragrant tamago cheese, ton toro, and mentaiko - a branch of the yakiniku restaurant I always rely on. I always think about coming here, but end up going to the yakiniku restaurant on the first floor (laughs). This time, I finally mustered up the courage to visit! When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the charismatic manager! He's like a member of Re: Earth? And his talk is incredibly funny! I might come here just for the talk, haha. Anyway, I sat down and ordered some items that caught my eye. Among them, the curry zangi, a soul food from the manager's hometown, was delicious (*´﹃`*). After trying everything, my impression is that the food is delicious, but overall it's more like appetizers so it's not very filling. Next time, I'll visit after going to the yakiniku restaurant on the first floor!

Sumikawa-kai, third stop! A non-registered shop. You have to go up the stairs. It's dangerous for drunk people in winter!! The interior is dimly lit, with a counter and booths. There were many regular customers, but they welcomed me warmly! The master was also a wonderful guy! (゜-゜) I had a beer! They also offer all-you-can-drink, and single highballs are only 244 yen, so it seems very convenient (^^)/ Since it was the last train that day, I just had a single drink. I had a smoked platter! I love smoked food, so everything tastes delicious to me. I remember eating cheese the whole time (゜-゜) I wanted to catch the last train, so my stay was short, but I would like to visit slowly next time (^^)/ It feels like a place I want near my home. And, even though I tried to leave Sumikawa in a healthy way that day, as a hopeless person with my nearest station being Susukino, I ended up making a detour and drinking until morning ( ゚д゚)

Chiyokawa here. This day we went to 6 different places: ramen, coffee, standing bar, snack-style cuisine, yakitori, and smoked food. The last stop was a zero-review place called Kunsei Sakaba 244. I just realized, what's with the 244? It's not an address or a laughing sound. Please let me know if you figure it out! We climbed some steep stairs to enter the place. Inside, it felt like a snack bar. The male staff were all funny and entertaining! It seemed like the customers came here just for them. It's like a cozy place where young adults gather. We were already full, so we just ordered a smoked food platter. The smoked cheese and kamaboko were delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. But Cinderella's time came, so we had to leave. I would definitely want to come back to this place. Thank you for the meal!

Kunsei Sakaba 244 is a smoke & bar, and I was brought here by someone familiar with the local area. It was a smoked bar that gave me a pretty deep feeling, but when I entered the store, I felt a lively atmosphere with regular customers. The master was younger and more cheerful than I expected, with a friendly and sociable character, which was very charming. Kunsei Sakaba 244 is located on the second floor of an old building, and I imagined a retro atmosphere, but the actual store was slightly different from what I had in mind. They served smoked cheese, fish cake, char siu, and cod roe. The smoked cod roe was particularly strong, but it didn't fill me up too much, making it easy to drink with alcohol. I personally felt that a little less salt would be better. The drinks were well-balanced in terms of alcohol content and carbonation, making them enjoyable to drink. Overall, I would rate it 3.6 for taste, 3.2 for service, 3.7 for atmosphere, 3.3 for cost performance, and 3.4 for drinks. 3rd stop at Sumikawa-kai in February 2019, yet another place with no reviews. It seems like Sumikawa is a hidden gem after all? A cozy bar-like establishment, offering all-you-can-drink options as well as a la carte orders. I ordered a glass of white wine with a 540 yen charge. When I thought about ordering the smoked platter, they mentioned they would bring out some appetizers first, and if I wanted more, I could add on. But the initial appetizer platter was quite substantial! The smoked items were relatively light in flavor. Despite many regular customers, the atmosphere was very welcoming and I quickly felt at ease. The owner had a great personality and was very good at conversation! If I lived nearby, I would definitely become a regular at this cozy place. While looking at images to write this review, I found a trial set for 1280 yen with no charge. I might just go back alone and try it out. Thank you for the great experience!

Today, we had gokko nabe and yakitori, and then went to a third round at a pub called Kunseiya. The place has been in business for over a year but is not registered. It's located on the second floor, accessible by an outdoor staircase next to a "horumon yatai" on the first floor. We were a group of six and sat at a table. The atmosphere was like a snack bar, with the counter seats all filled up. The welcoming manager was very chatty and entertaining, explaining the drinks and appetizers. We ordered double the smoked dish we were looking for without realizing, but it turned out to be a good choice. We started with Jim Beam highballs. The place had a friendly vibe, and we ended up chatting with the customers at the counter. The appetizer consisted of four types of smoked dishes, with a subtle smoky aroma. The cheese, tarako, kamaboko, and chashu were all tasty, with the cheese being a personal favorite. The saltiness of the tarako was a bit strong, but it paired well with the drinks. It was a pleasant surprise to find a place serving smoked dishes in Sumikawa. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The customers at the counter highly recommended the spring rolls, so maybe next time!

The third round of wandering at Sumikawa is here. Still not reviewed. It seems like it will be two years soon, judging from the Facebook post. We sat at a table behind the counter seat that was available. I thought the interior would be more old-fashioned, but it wasn't so. We started with a San Highball toast. You can choose between Jim Beam and San for the Highball. As we chatted and laughed, the owner came over. We had kamaboko, tarako, meat, and more. It wasn't too strong, but it had the owner's smell and taste. According to the regulars at the counter, there is a recommended dish, but I forgot what it was. We listened to the very entertaining stories of the owner and felt like we secretly wanted to come back again. Thank you for the meal. Sumikawa and Fukuzumi Kuoen Street side seem to have more deep-rooted shops.
