【March 30, 2023】Survey report. Today, I stayed at a hotel near Osaka Uehonmachi Station. I found a highly rated okonomiyaki restaurant within walking distance and decided to visit. I arrived at 18:37. There were 8 people waiting outside at that time. After waiting for 43 minutes, I finally got a seat. Many of the people waiting in line seemed to be from Korea. ■ Interior The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a brown color scheme. The background music playing was popular Western music. ■ Seating 4 counter seats and 4 four-person box seats. ■ Operation There were 6 male staff members in the kitchen and 1 male staff member in the hall. There were quite a few employees for the number of seats. The ordered items and reviews are as follows: ◆ Momijimaze - 1980 yen + extra oysters 580 yen, rating 4.3 This is a specialty dish of the restaurant, the Gobo mixed okonomiyaki. It is a mixed yakisoba dish that is a specialty of Gobo City in Wakayama Prefecture. It is not very familiar in the Kanto region, but it resembles yakisoba without using dough. The ingredients include onions, cabbage, pork, shrimp, scallops, oysters, octopus, squid, and more. The thick noodles with a slightly sweet sauce are exquisite, and it's incredibly delicious! Even as you eat more, all you can say is "delicious!" It's a must-try dish! ◆ Momiji Tamago - 1958 yen, rating 4.2 First, you will be overwhelmed by the volume of this dish! The dough is fluffy. The ingredients include two large prawns, scallops, octopus, squid, pork, and a fried egg. The slightly sweet sauce and the ingredients create an exquisite harmony, making it a superb dish! ◆ Celery Pickles - 374 yen, rating 4.0 The pickles are flavored with yuzu, giving it a refreshing taste. It is sprinkled with sesame seeds, adding a nice aroma. 【Overall】 When I told the staff that the food was delicious upon leaving, they all smiled and bowed to me. I felt like they all really enjoy their work. They even saw me off outside the restaurant, and I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal. I would love to visit again when I return to Osaka with an even bigger appetite!

I finished work a little early and with light rain in the evening, there was only one place to go - a popular restaurant with a 5:00 PM start time! I hurried to the subway station and arrived at the restaurant at 5:07 PM. Everyone was already lining up, it seems we all had the same idea (laughs). The 20-minute wait flew by as I checked my emails. I ordered a bottle of beer (Red Star), Negi-Suji Hira, and Ebi-Tama with additional pork and oil residue. The skilled chefs at the counter were cooking up dishes like Tonpei with amazing techniques. The process of cooking the food was fascinating to watch. I opted for the Negi-Suji Hira instead of the Tonpei and enjoyed the delicious sweet and savory flavor. The Okonomiyaki took about 30 minutes to cook, but seeing the process made me understand why. The thick and divine Okonomiyaki arrived, and the first bite was a burst of flavors. The combination of ingredients was perfect, and the sauce was light and tasty. The oil residue topping I chose added a crunchy and juicy texture. The 30-minute wait was worth it for such a delicious dish. There were many foreign customers today, so the menu had more mainstream items, but I would have loved to see the local specialty, "Gobo Maze-yaki." Next time, I want to try the Pork Kimchi and Beef Suji Negiyaki. It was so delicious!

In Osaka, there is a popular okonomiyaki restaurant called Momiji located in Kamimachi and Yama-machi 9-chome. Before the pandemic, it was a popular spot where people would line up even until midnight. During the pandemic, there were fewer people, but after it ended, the restaurant became even more popular than before. On this particular day, despite heavy rain, there was only one group waiting at around 11:30 PM, and we only had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a table. The okonomiyaki is cooked slowly for 30 minutes, making the cabbage sweet and delicious. The yakisoba uses thick noodles that are boiled freshly for each order, resulting in a chewy texture. Despite its popularity, the owner is kind to both customers and staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The highball drinks always go well with the food.

I came to Osaka for the first time in six months. I checked into the hotel after 9 pm and immediately went to Momiji-san. Last time I came, there were a lot of people waiting, with a wait time of 40 to 50 minutes, but this time I was able to enter immediately. Lucky! This time, I had okonomiyaki, negiyaki, and several side dishes. The okonomiyaki and negiyaki were delicious as always! The chilled moyashi side dish was also very tasty. I want to come back again.

I checked into the hotel on the last subway train. There were quite a few hundred shops open at this time. I took a taxi from the hotel and arrived. It was past midnight, but there were 8 people waiting outside (all foreigners). I waited for about thirty minutes and finally got inside. I was a bit sleepy. I was seated at the counter and quickly ordered mixed yakisoba, kimchi, and a highball. I slowly enjoyed the kimchi with the highball while waiting for the mixed yakisoba to be ready. I chose a variety of kimchi, and the white kimchi was unexpectedly delicious. The live cooking on the iron plate in front of me was a nice touch. The ingredients for the yakisoba included pork, squid, cabbage, onions, bean sprouts, and thick noodles. The noodles were boiled and then mixed on the iron plate with two eggs cracked in. It's not okonomiyaki or Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, but the Gobo mixed yakisoba from Gobo, Wakayama Prefecture is a yakisoba with eggs mixed in, resembling an egg-drop style yakisoba. This was my first time trying Gobo mixed yakisoba, and I highly recommend it!

When you come to Osaka, you have to try okonomiyaki! I had the Hiroshima-style mix for 1408 yen, along with a refreshing draft beer. The outside was crispy like yakisoba, while the inside was soft and chewy, with delicious meat, shrimp, and squid. It was a great experience cooking it on my own personal hot plate. The staff were very friendly. We arrived at 5 pm and didn't have to wait, but by 6 pm, the restaurant was packed with customers. I definitely want to come back again!

A popular okonomiyaki restaurant located just a short walk from Tanimachi Kyuchome Station. The second floor offers reservations and serves monjayaki, while the first floor serves only okonomiyaki. On a weekend in August after 8 pm, there was a line of about 10 people in front of the restaurant. We waited for over 30 minutes before being seated. In addition to okonomiyaki and yakisoba, they are known for their "mazeyaki," which is yakisoba cooked with egg to resemble the sechiyaki from Gobo, Wakayama (the owner's wife is from Gobo). That day, we ordered one okonomiyaki and one mazeyaki for two people. We also ordered appetizers like beef tendon ponzu and daikon salad. The okonomiyaki was cooked quite thick, which seems to be a unique feature of the restaurant. The mazeyaki was an interesting dish, made with egg instead of flour to bind the yakisoba, creating a unique and delicious dish.

When I visited: Wednesday night at 10:30 pm, there were 3 groups lined up in front of the restaurant. I waited for about 20 minutes. Ordered items: Beef tendon ponzu, Chicken thigh salt, Momiji ball okonomiyaki (with less mayonnaise). Everything was delicious. Thank you for the feast!

The finale of the top 100 okonomiyaki restaurants on Tabelog! My partner loves oysters, so I was planning to go during the winter oyster season, but on the way back from Nobu no Yu, my partner said, "If there's no line and there's a seat available, let's go!!" So around 5:30, we got out of the car and checked, and there was no line and seats were available (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))). I had my partner park the car and went in first \( ˆoˆ )/ I'm always lined up so I'm super happy~~~♡ I was aiming for the natto omelette, but they said, "Please spare me m(*_ _)m," so I went with the tuna omelette (´^ω^`)ブフォwww I also ordered the negi suji hira and a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with lots of cabbage and not much flour♪♪ I sat at the counter seat, so I could see the splendid hand-cutting right in front of me♡ When the waiter was about to put ketchup on top of the mayonnaise as the final topping for the tuna omelette, I unintentionally stopped him and said, "Oh~ I don't need ketchup!!" It was a good decision to sit at the counter because I hate ketchup (´^ω^`)ブフォwww Both the tuna omelette and the negi suji hira were fluffy and delicious♡ It was at Michelin Guide level!! It was delicious♡ Thank you for the meal♡ I appreciate all of your follows, likes, and comments♡ Instagram《 @kanae.0402 》Gourmet account《 @kanae.0402sub 》I'm currently pregnant and taking a break from "eating to lose weight" and enjoying my maternity gourmet life ( * ॑꒳ ॑*). The scorching heat was unbearable, but I finished work a little early, so I decided to head to "Momiji" without waiting in line. I was lucky to get a seat right away, and I ordered the following dishes: - Zuri Shio (Grilled salted pork) for 550 yen - Buta Ebi Tamago (Pork and shrimp okonomiyaki) with oil kasu topping for 1342 yen The meticulous grilling process was impressive, with each dish prepared with great care. The Zuri Shio was perfectly grilled and seasoned with salt and pepper, while the Buta Ebi Tamago had a beautiful presentation and a delicious thick pork filling. The oil kasu topping added an extra burst of flavor to each bite. Overall, the experience at the counter was special, and I was amazed by the attention to detail in each dish. The restaurant quickly filled up, and I could see why people were lining up outside. I made a mental note to try the "Tonpei" and "Negi Sujihei" on my next visit, as they seemed like must-try dishes.

Hello! It's RamenWalking❗️ Today is Okonomiyaki Day~ I visited Okonomiyaki Momiji in Tanimachi Kyuchome and tried their "Momiji Maze." Osaka is known for its great Okonomiyaki restaurants, so I decided to visit this unique place I found nearby. I arrived at 7:00 PM and there was no wait, but I had to wait a bit for them to clean up before entering. I ordered the dish I wanted and waited at the counter while watching the cooking process. Even though it's an Okonomiyaki place, they also have teppanyaki dishes and the orders kept coming in one after another... Finally, at 7:30, my order arrived. I ordered the "Momiji Maze" for 1,980 yen. It's a local dish from Gojo City, Wakayama. Instead of using Okonomiyaki batter, they mix yakisoba with egg and cook it. The texture is soft and fluffy, with thick noodles and a creamy egg coating. The sauce is mildly sweet and savory, which complements the dish well. The "Momiji" dish comes with 2 large prawns, scallops, octopus, squid, pork, and a fried egg on top. The prawns were juicy and delicious, and the dish was packed with ingredients and had a satisfying thickness. Thank you, Okonomiyaki Momiji! Today's steps: 15,072 steps. Calories burned: 555 kcal.

The waiting time is long! But once you get in, it's delicious! The okonomiyaki on the second floor can be reserved, but on the first floor, you have to wait in line. Waiting for an hour is normal, but the deliciousness is worth the wait. There are also many single dishes available, so you can enjoy some snacks while waiting for your okonomiyaki to be cooked, maybe with a beer. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

A okonomiyaki restaurant located a short walk from Osaka Uehommachi Station. Reservations are available for the second floor, where drink orders are required. The restaurant is popular among Korean customers, with everyone except us being Korean. The menu offers a variety of flour-based dishes, including okonomiyaki, monjayaki, Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, and mix-yaki. I tried monjayaki, which I had never eaten in Kansai before, but unfortunately, I didn't really like the taste. The broth was not very flavorful, and adding mayonnaise for the first time didn't quite suit my taste. The tonpeiyaki and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki were decent, but nothing particularly outstanding.

Order details: Okonomiyaki Momiji-dama 1,780 yen, Cucumber Ume Katsuobushi 340 yen, Draft Beer (medium) 530 yen, Whole Lemon Sour 600 yen. It took 30 minutes for the okonomiyaki to be ready, but the staff informed us in advance that it would take some time. The okonomiyaki had a fluffy texture with large shrimp, octopus, squid, and pork toppings. The sweetness of the cabbage and the sauce combined well with the dough, making it very delicious. The staff's service was also excellent. They have a YouTube channel where they share videos, so check it out if you're interested.

[Tonkotsu Tamago] I ordered the classic Tonkotsu Tamago okonomiyaki, which took about 30 minutes to arrive. It was fluffy yet the cabbage had a crunchy texture, and the sauce was excellent, making it the best okonomiyaki I've ever had. The thick slices of pork were crispy on one side but tender and delicious, earning high praise. [Stamina Horumon Monja] I also tried the Horumon (offal) and leek monja. Just like the okonomiyaki, the monja was delicious. The seasoning was perfect, making it a perfect match for rice and alcohol. The texture of the monja sauce was also spot on. [Tonpei] The Tonpei I tried was the best I've ever had. The thinly sliced pork was crispy and tender, and the addition of tempura bits added another layer of crunchiness and flavor. The sauce from the restaurant was to my liking, making it the ultimate Tonpei. [Zuri Garlic] A teppanyaki dish made with sand liver, bell peppers, paprika, and fried garlic, seasoned with a bitter steak sauce. Despite its appearance, it was surprisingly refreshing, making it a good appetizer while waiting for the okonomiyaki. The cost performance of around 2500 yen per person after eating all this is also good. I highly recommend this okonomiyaki restaurant. If you plan to order monja, you can also make a reservation by phone (about a week in advance is recommended).

I went to a restaurant because they had Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki on the menu and it had high ratings. When I arrived at the restaurant after 6 pm, there were only 2 people waiting in line, so I was lucky. I waited for about 15 minutes and was seated on the second floor where it was a one-drink minimum. I ordered the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki mix and a shochu highball with lemon. The highball came quickly, but I had to wait about 30 minutes for the okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki was not very tall, so I thought there was not much cabbage, but it was actually packed tightly. The noodles were crispy, which I liked. The quality of the ingredients was good, so the overall balance was great and it was very delicious. It's no wonder this restaurant has high ratings. Reservations are not accepted for the first floor, but the second floor also serves monjayaki and reservations are accepted. I will definitely come back again.

I visited Okonomiyaki Momiji in Tennoji Ward. I recommend trying the Tonpei-yaki. On this day, I had the mentaiko special monja, Nagatanien monja, scallop butter with pork okonomiyaki, squid and pork yakisoba, and onigiri tonpei-yaki. The tonpei-yaki was fluffy with a unique texture, which was a delightful surprise. The monja was also incredibly delicious. There were many great menu options, so I look forward to trying more next time. I recommend making a reservation or arriving at 5:00 PM to be the first in line. The staff were all handsome as well! ❤️

I went to this restaurant in Osaka after about 4 years, and as expected, it was already full when I arrived after 6 pm. I noticed that more than half of the customers were Korean tourists, for some reason. I couldn't miss out on the yakisoba and okonomiyaki, so I ordered momiji yaki and a simple pork okonomiyaki. The momiji yaki had large and satisfying seafood ingredients, and keeping the okonomiyaki simple with just pork was the right choice.

The menu is quite extensive, featuring dishes like negiyaki, Hiroshima-yaki, mix-yaki, teppanyaki, yakisoba, and monja. Located just a 1-minute walk from Tamachi 9-chome, this popular okonomiyaki restaurant is situated along a main street. I visited on a weekend night. The evening hours start at 5:00 PM, and when I arrived around that time, there was a line of 8-10 groups in front of the restaurant. I was able to enter after waiting in line, around a little after 6:00 PM, I think. If you want to be in the first seating at 5:00 PM, it seems like you should start lining up around 15 minutes before opening. There are seats on the 1st and 2nd floors, and we were seated on the 2nd floor. It seems like the menu items are different on the 1st and 2nd floors, maybe only the monjayaki is available on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has regular table seating, and if you have four people, you can sit comfortably. We ordered the cabbage pork ball, maple mix, mentaiko cheese monjayaki, teppanyaki horumon stir-fry, and natto omelette. Both the monjayaki and side menu items were reliably delicious. The okonomiyaki had a good height and a strong presence of cabbage. The dough part was fluffy. The sweetness of the cabbage came through and was delicious. The mixed yakisoba was like fried noodles with egg. It had a strong egg flavor. I chose soy sauce for the flavor, and it was also delicious. Despite the line, whether you choose okonomiyaki, monjayaki, or Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, everything is delicious, so it's a good place to go when you want to try a variety of flour-based dishes.
