This is Choisu Muroran Chuocho store in Muroran. Today's shop is Choisu Muroran Chuocho store. It's only a 1-minute walk from Muroran Station, visible on the left side when you exit the station. This place is really close to my house, but no matter who I ask, the reviews are mixed. I had been ignoring it, thinking I could go anytime, but recently they launched an app and I started receiving coupons. The coupons were mostly underwhelming, like one dish free, but for the July holidays, they had a coupon for half-price on any number of beers! I had plans for the holidays, but I made time for lunch and went there. The interior has 7 box seats and 8 counter seats. It wasn't crowded enough to wait in line, but it was about 80% full with people coming and going. It seems to get quite busy here. The beer I was looking for, priced at 480 yen, was the Oni Densetsu craft beer from Noboribetsu. Since this place is related to Wakasaimo, you can enjoy craft beer here. However, they serve it in small glasses. Today it's half-price, so it's fine, but this is something to note, it's a bit underwhelming. The beer is delicious though. I usually don't drink much when I have sushi, but today I'm going for a mix of drinking and eating! - Shime saba (vinegared mackerel) for 198 yen: The level of vinegar was just right, quite delicious. - Nametako umekyu (fresh octopus with plum sauce) for 198 yen: Refreshing and tasty as a side dish, but a bit too sour if eaten alone. - Kin kaishin hirame (local flounder) for 297 yen: There were many recommendations sold out, and this was the only white fish available. It's good, but it's a bit underwhelming in this situation! - Katsujime toro hamachi (fatty yellowtail) for 198 yen: I wish the yellowtail had more fat, but it's still good! - Yari ika (spear squid) for 143 yen: It's already the season for true squid, but this is a regular item, so is it always Yari ika? It's surprisingly tasty for a cheap plate. - Yama wasabi tekka (mountain wasabi tuna) for 198 yen: This one was a bit surprising. It came as a single piece without being cut. A bit difficult to eat, but it's good! - Umakai sanmai (deluxe shellfish platter) for 297 yen: Red clam, white clam, surf clam. The surf clam was not great, but the red clam and white clam were decent. - Aburi sanmai (torched deluxe platter) for 297 yen: Grilled salmon skin, eel, torched scallop. The salmon is nice, the eel is average, and the torched scallop doesn't suit my taste, the sweet sauce doesn't go well with it. - Saba gari maki (pickled mackerel roll) for 143 yen: Oh, this one goes well with sake! - Seafood salad for 143 yen: I always end with a seafood salad at conveyor belt sushi places. I can't eat it elsewhere, so I like it! I heard the pricing was a bit off, so I didn't go for the more expensive items, but at this price range, the size of the fish is decent, and it's not bad. If it was bad, I was thinking of having some side dishes with my drinks, but I ended up eating sushi until the end. Of course, compared to the top conveyor belt sushi place in Hokkaido, Wabi, even though it's a bit cheaper, it's still a total loss. But if you go by car, wait for a long time, and eat while enjoying a beer, this place is also good for casual dining while snacking and drinking beer! The only complaints I have are: - The beer is served in small glasses and is expensive. - There are few waitstaff, so the beer service is a bit slow. - At the end, they count the plates at the table for the bill, so they don't clear the empty glasses, and the counter gets filled with glasses. All complaints are about the beer! (The taste is delicious!) Thank you for the meal ☺
