I have used day trip hot springs many times before, but this time it was my first visit for an overnight stay and meal. Basically, it is not suitable for those who expect detailed customer service, it is more like a homey, rural place. The facility is very well maintained and you can spend a comfortable time. However, things that don't need to be shown (storage rooms, warehouses, daily life, etc.) are not hidden, so they stand out. The guest rooms are really clean and the indoor baths are spacious enough to stretch your legs. However, it was difficult to open and close the room key. The bathroom has no window coverings, so it is fully visible from the outside. Also, I wished there were a bath mat and a chair. In front of the bathroom is the sink, but since the floor is carpeted, you can't leave it wet and have to dry off inside the bathroom before leaving the room. Since it has an open ceiling, you can hear noises and voices from downstairs very well. I couldn't fall asleep for a while because of that. For the meal, I ordered ginger pork set meal and fried chicken set meal. Even when I entered the restaurant, no one came out from the kitchen because it was a blind spot. The water is also self-service. There are table seats and tatami seats, but there were few cushions on the tatami seats, so my legs hurt. Personally, I liked the taste of the food. It is not too strong, with a gentle flavor that goes well with rice. The miso soup was also hot and delicious. It may be too much for women because of the volume. The soft serve ice cream was very delicious, and I plan to eat it again when I use the hot springs. Also, it is equipped with WiFi, but it is slow. Really slow. The communication speed is so slow that it is clearly faster to turn off the WiFi. It was tough for business use. Overall, it is a very good facility, but I can't help feeling that it is a bit wasted. There are some shortcomings in the management by a small number of people. I understand that. However, I would like them to make more efforts from the customer's perspective and become a more popular facility. I hope to continue using it with expectations.

I stayed at a pension and had dinner. I drove a long distance today from Abashiri to Shiretoko to Rausu to Nakashibetsu, and I am quite tired. The accommodation tonight is a pension called Shimafukurou with natural hot springs. I soaked in the hot spring and no longer had the energy to go out to eat, so I decided to have dinner here. There is also a yakiniku house attached, and I wanted to have Genghis Khan, but it required a reservation by noon on the same day. The curry I ordered used spare ribs of Akankohan pork, with a deep flavor using local ingredients. The pork kimchi set meal was delicious, especially the homemade kimchi. It's a taste that lifts your spirits. They were selling Korean ingredients at the front desk, so maybe they are good at Korean cuisine. The Shiretoko young chicken was a hit with the kids due to the size of the fried chicken. It may be a bit pricey for a local place, but it was undeniably delicious. We seemed to be the only guests staying, and after our dinner, the owner came back from work with his sons around the same age as us and they ate together. A fox was walking in front of the store. Breakfast is 700 yen and includes toast, bacon, omelette, salad, milk, etc. I may not be able to come back often, but if I can visit again, I would like to use the yakiniku house. There seem to be quite a few harsh reviews, but this clean and comfortable accommodation with natural hot springs was a convenient place for my family of four to stay.

This is a restaurant attached to a hot spring facility. It seems to be used by both guests staying at the facility and day visitors. The menu is not typical Hokkaido cuisine like seafood and dairy products, but rather offers a variety of dishes like ramen, curry, fried rice, and soba, which are more like local diner fare. This is perfect for those who may be tired of traditional Hokkaido cuisine. The only downside is that the lighting inside the restaurant is too dim.

On a regular afternoon, while driving towards Betsukai Town, I noticed a flag with the words "Daily Lunch Special" on it. Intrigued by the idea of a daily changing lunch special, I decided to change my plans and visit the restaurant. The location is at a corner where National Route 243 from Abashiri Town intersects with National Route 272 leading to Kushiro, making it a convenient spot. However, due to the overpass, the restaurant is not visible from Route 272, so unless you have a specific reason to visit, you wouldn't go out of your way to come here. The restaurant recently reopened under new management, offering both hot springs and accommodation. The interior is clean and cozy, with 7 four-person tables. I ordered the recommended Shiretoko Chicken Curry, which arrived promptly. The curry had a homemade taste, with slightly firm rice and small pieces of chicken. The standout ingredient was the plentiful carrots, making it more like a carrot curry. The service was polite but slightly awkward. Overall, it was a decent meal in a quiet setting. The restaurant also serves as the reception for the hot springs, which can be accessed through a separate entrance. The casual atmosphere and scenic surroundings make it a potentially pleasant place to relax. I hope the restaurant continues to thrive and improve its offerings to attract more customers.

A note came up, so I'll post it. It is located on the way from Kushiro to Shibetsu, at the intersection of National Route 272 (Milk Road) and National Route 243 (Pilot Road). Since there are few buildings around, you will easily recognize it by looking at the sign. It is like a hot spring drive-in with accommodations, part of the Plaza Tourist Group facilities. The service was surprisingly decent and it didn't disappoint. It is a popular place to escape to during bad weather on motorcycle tours. The first floor has a souvenir shop in the middle, a bath on the left, and a restaurant on the right, with a foot bath area where you can eat. The second floor is for accommodation. The rooms are somewhat spacious, clean, and the price is reasonable. The morning bath was refreshing and felt good on the body. Since there are not many rooms, it is advisable to call ahead if you plan to stay. We had breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor. The portion was average, and the taste was also average. They served milk, which is common in this area. The restaurant also offers dishes like grilled meat, ginger pork, ramen, curry, and sometimes soft-serve ice cream depending on the season. The food was decent and didn't disappoint. After bathing, I tried the new menu item "Escalope" while soaking in the foot bath. It is a specialty of neighboring Nemuro, so it was not out of place. The foot bath with natural spring water was at a good temperature and felt nice. The quality of the spring is sodium-chloride, with outdoor and indoor baths separated by gender, at 52.3°C, ph7.8, and powered lifting. There was no information on water addition, only a seal, so it was unclear. The size of the bath is average. The outdoor bath doesn't offer a particularly great view, but it has a roof and allows for a relaxed soak even in bad weather. The starry sky on a clear night in summer is wonderful. Sometimes in summer, the smell of cows can be a bit bothersome. Thank you for your hospitality. One night with breakfast included 6000 yen Day trip bathing: Adults 500 yen, Children 300 yen 10:00-21:30 Escalope 900 yen Ginger pork set 1260 yen Milk ramen 750 yen
