A stylish gyoza restaurant with excellent cost performance, perfect for a gyoza party! Taste ★★★ Cost Performance ★★★ Solo Activity ★★★ - Fried Gyoza Set (740 yen) - Stamina Gyoza Set (680 yen) They are one-bite size, so you can easily enjoy two different types! The balance of meat and vegetables is great, and it really goes well with rice. Takeout is also very popular. Located at Gyoza Shokudo Kyoto Tontama, near Saiin Station. #KyotoGourmet #GyozaShokudoKyotoTontama #KyotoLunch #KyotoDinner #KyotoSetMeal #KyotoFood #GyozaSet #KyotoCityGourmet

The restaurant has a bright and spacious interior that is very welcoming for a single female diner, and it has a stylish atmosphere. I appreciated that I could enjoy the gyoza set meal not only during lunch hours but also throughout the day. For an additional ¥200, I could change my rice to a unique tamago kake gohan, similar to the Ton-Tama style. The crispy gyoza was delicious, and I’m eager to try the other varieties as well. As someone who loves thin-skinned gyoza, I found the texture just right, with a little more firmness than I’m used to. It seemed to be a one-person operation, as the owner was managing everything by themselves when I visited, and they were friendly and easy to talk to. The Ton-Tama app offers great deals, so it’s a must-have. In addition to cash, they accept various electronic payment methods.

I stepped into the restaurant through the noren (fabric curtain). I ordered a set meal with two servings of grilled dumplings. As the delicious aroma of the dumplings started to fill the air, my meal was served. I made my own dipping sauce and enjoyed the dumplings. Eating the grilled dumplings on rice was delightful; even though there were 16 of them, I could hardly stop eating. I savored the last one slowly before finishing. It's truly a blessing to be able to enjoy a set meal in the evening.

It's a stylish, casual cafe-like eatery. The menu focuses on grilled gyoza, featuring types like shiso gyoza, plenty of green onion gyoza, and stamina gyoza with garlic, which can be enjoyed as a set meal or with drinks. I ordered a combination of shiso gyoza and stamina gyoza, presented on a single plate like a gyoza set meal. It came with rice, pickles, and miso soup. I appreciated that the rice can be chosen in small, medium, or large sizes at the same price. Typically, one order includes five pieces of shiso gyoza and stamina gyoza, served on separate plates. However, I asked to combine them for a photo, and the grilled gyoza comes in eight pieces per order; having two orders for the set meal gives a hearty total of 16 pieces. The gyoza has a thin skin, perfectly crispy on the outside. The regular gyoza is garlic-free, allowing you to enjoy lunch without worrying about garlic. The shiso gyoza is refreshing, while the stamina gyoza has a strong garlic flavor that pairs wonderfully with beer. It seems there are many customers who take away as well as dine in, and although the owner appeared busy, they were very pleasant and welcoming. It's a place I definitely felt good about visiting.

I visited a gyoza restaurant in Mibu. I parked my car at a nearby coin-operated parking lot and ordered the grilled gyoza set meal half size (540 yen), which came with 4 gyoza, rice, miso soup, and pickles. I also ordered a serving of green onion gyoza (390 yen) and chose to have the grilled gyoza without garlic. The grilled gyoza was plump, crispy, and easy to eat, while the green onion gyoza was packed with green onions! It had a nice texture and was delicious too. I ate a total of 9 gyoza... I could have eaten a bit more!

I went for the first time and the gyoza was delicious! I was wondering if one serving (8 pieces) would be enough, so I ordered a set meal with two servings without garlic. The gyoza was quite large and filling, so I was able to finish it, but I was very full afterward! I also ordered the green onion gyoza as a separate item. I thought there would be green onions inside, but instead, there was a huge pile of green onions on top. Next time, I want to try the gyoza with garlic on the day before my day off.

I went for a gyoza lunch. The interior felt relatively spacious and had a stylish raw concrete design. The gyoza came with a dipping sauce that you could make yourself. I enjoyed it with salt, pepper, and soy sauce. It was delicious.

I visited during lunchtime. The grilled dumpling set comes without garlic, so I can enjoy it without worrying about smelling bad when meeting people later. The skin is crispy, and the filling has larger pieces of meat. It also comes with rice and miso soup. You can choose the size of the rice: small, medium, or large.

The restaurant is located just up the street from the city hospital on Yokogomae Street. We enjoyed fried gyoza, shiso gyoza, and scallion gyoza for two. The food was delicious, and the interior was clean and well-maintained. True to its name, it felt like a casual eatery, offering set meals with rice, miso soup, and pickles, along with a few small dishes. I wish there were a few more appetizers available, as it would be nice to have a light drink in the evening.

In January 2024, I visited a newly opened gyoza specialty shop called "Kyoto Tontama Rokkakuguchi" that had previously opened an onigiri (rice ball) shop in the same area. The nearest station is Nishikujyo Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, about a 7-8 minute walk away. I went during the pre-opening period starting on January 11th. The interior is simple and stylish, not what you'd expect from a gyoza shop, with seating for about 7 at the counter and 5 two-person tables. The menu features four types of gyoza, some side dishes like kimchi, gyoza set meals, and various drinks. It looks like you can also take home frozen gyoza. Since I visited during lunch, I ordered the "Tontama Set," which includes the classic pan-fried gyoza, a dashi-marinated egg yolk rice ball, and miso soup. Soon after ordering, I was served eight beautifully arranged gyoza that had been hand-wrapped that day. They were plump, perfectly cooked, and stuffed with a good balance of meat and vegetables, offering a rich, subtle sweetness. Personally, I thought the surface could be a tad crispier for an even better experience. The rice ball, wrapped in seaweed, was topped with the flavorful egg yolk and served with diced pickles, creating a delicious combination. The miso soup, made with tofu and seaweed, had just the right balance of richness—not too thick, not too thin. I look forward to trying their "Shiso Gyoza" and other varieties on my next visit. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Hello! I’m Fujiya, the PR ambassador. This time, I’m visiting a gyoza restaurant located a little down from Hankyu Saiin Station in Kyoto. It’s called Gyoza Shokudo Kyo Ton-Tama+ (33 Higashihinmachi, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto). The restaurant has 7 counter seats and 5 two-person tables. On the tables, you’ll find vinegar, soy sauce, chili oil, shichimi (seven-spice), mayonnaise, and Japanese mustard. There are three staff members: the owner and two ladies. I ordered a serving of the fried gyoza set and a serving of stamina gyoza. You can choose your rice portion size: large, medium, or small, so I went with large. The water is self-service, and the restaurant has a clean feel to it. They even play cafe-like music, so at first glance, it doesn’t look like a typical gyoza shop. After a little wait... The fried gyoza set and stamina gyoza arrived, totaling 1,243 yen. The round ones are the standard fried gyoza, and the other ones are the stamina gyoza. It comes with rice, miso soup, and pickles. I started with the fried gyoza. The skin is crispy, and the filling is delicious, especially paired with rice. Next up is the stamina gyoza. Wow! What is this?! The garlic is intense! This is great with rice, and once you try this, you won’t want to go back to the regular fried gyoza. It seems this stamina gyoza is packed full of garlic. When you look at the cross-section, you can see it is overflowing with garlic – hello there! I enjoyed every bite of the rice and finished with the miso soup. Everyone ate quickly and left, with customers continuously coming in and out. I’m also heading out now. Thank you! It was delicious! P.S. They have an alcohol menu too, with four types of gyoza and either beer or lemon sour drinks available. They also offer points and coupons through their app!

There are shops near Kyoto City Hospital. They offer a variety of dumplings, and you can enjoy a large serving of rice with your set meal at no extra charge. Pairing dumplings with beer is also a great option. At the time of payment, they provide a coupon that can be used for your next visit.
