It's about a 5-minute walk from Fukushima Station, located along the Amidaike-suji street, and it's a yakiniku restaurant with a Tabelog rating of 3.55. I visited for a weekday lunch. This rating is quite impressive, especially since the restaurant has only been open for a year. I heard it was supervised by a famous food influencer, which might have contributed to its success. What a time we live in!
I was aiming for the weekday-only "Daily Set Meal" priced at 1,000 yen, but it was sold out. It was only a little past 12:30, and there was only one other group aside from me... (it looked like curry). I was recommended the cold noodles for lunch, but it felt too chilly for that at this time of year, so I reluctantly ordered the "Upper Sirloin Set Meal" for 1,700 yen.
The set meal included rice, soup, two types of kimchi, meat, and almond tofu. The cost of ingredients is mostly in the meat. I initially mistook the almond tofu for handmade tofu and accidentally sprinkled salt on it, which was a mistake on my part. Just one of those days, I guess.
The meat came in six pieces. For ordering individual items at night, this portion seems about right. It was sirloin, and you could clearly see the marbling, indicating it was good quality meat. While this is a standard expectation, it was tender and delicious! It was surprisingly oily for sirloin, which was a pleasant surprise. However, the sauce was a bit lacking. Given the quality of the meat, that was a minor issue, but still a bit disappointing. Also, the soup was quite salty.
Overall, the meat felt more premium than a typical lunch offering. While it might not be quite filling if you’re looking for volume, it does make you feel a bit indulgent. Next time, I plan to arrive a bit earlier to try the daily special again. Thank you for the meal!
