I wanted to enjoy local-style okonomiyaki, so I planned a visit to an okonomiyaki restaurant with coworkers from Ehime, Tottori, Hiroshima, and Okayama. Every time I return home, I indulge in okonomiyaki, but I also want to be able to enjoy it regularly when I'm not home.
**About the Restaurant**
I found an okonomiyaki place via Tabelog, and we made a reservation at the main branch, which is relatively easy to access. It seems to have opened in March 2024, and the interior was clean. There were four tables for four people in the back, and seven counter seats. We split up, sitting at the table for four and the counter, but we were close enough to converse, making it acceptable for a drinking gathering.
**Food and Taste**
The taste is what you'd typically expect from a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. The price was quite comparable to what you'd find in Hiroshima, so I felt the cost performance was very good.
**Service**
Service was average. However, the three at the counter were enjoying conversation with a young lady and her daughter. Since they were having a local chat, regulars from Hiroshima might find it comfortable to be there.
**Atmosphere**
Being new, the restaurant has a nice feel. Compared to older, local Hiroshima okonomiyaki shops, it has an overwhelming sense of cleanliness.
**Cost Performance**
For seven of us, we ordered four okonomiyaki, 21 beers, and several side dishes, totaling just under 22,000 yen. Since we had plans for a second gathering, we controlled our intake to avoid getting too full, but I would say the cost performance is good. Even if we added three more okonomiyaki and seven more beers, it would still be around 4,000 yen per person.
**Alcohol and Drinks**
The beer tanks are small, requiring frequent replacements, which caused a bit of a wait. However, they pour the draft beer where we can see them, so waiting wasn't too frustrating. The beer itself was just average.
**Other**
The seasoning of the okonomiyaki is authentic to the region. Note that they don't use boiled soba for the okonomiyaki, so if you prefer the boiled type, you might want to overlook that. For drinking gatherings, it’s best to stick to four people. Although we managed with seven, there is a passage for the restroom between the table and counter, so four would be the safest number.
