I went to Higashikawa Town. It's a homemade yeast bread shop called Mameya. When you're exploring Higashikawa Town, be sure to stop by the Michikusa-kan at the Michikusa-kan Road Station. And be sure to get the map that is distributed for free there before you start exploring. The map is hand-drawn and has a warm and well-made feel to it, with sections for gourmet and crafts. I always get multiple copies of it, but end up giving them to people who are planning to visit Higashikawa. So, I often don't have one for myself. On this day too, I first got the map here before starting. I passed by Nomado, which I reviewed before, and made a left turn. It was a bit away from the center of Higashikawa. They are still doing road construction, so it's easy to find by aiming for the construction site. You can park your car in front of the store or around the back of the store. I went inside with my wife. The entrance to the store is at the back of the entrance. The wife and daughter were making bread at that time. Great job, daughter. It's heartwarming. Some reviewers may say something about the store owner's child helping out, but it used to be a common sight for a store owner's child to help out in the past. When I was young, I lived with my grandfather, who was a potter, and did the same thing (looking back now, I think I was a hindrance). The wife's gentle and warm customer service is wonderful. There were many cute breads lined up inside the store. There are some discounted breads at the bottom of the case, so if you find them, you'll be lucky. Yesterday's bread is sold at a discount. Ideally, everything should be sold at regular prices without discounts. But it's understandable that they can't sell out during the winter season. Still, I appreciate the store for providing customers with the fun of choosing. The store's feelings come across very well. The bread I bought was as follows: White bean bread, Brown sugar walnut (4 pieces), Pumpkin bread, Focaccia (Plain), Focaccia (Cheese & Tomato) - 2 pieces, Cheese (4 pieces), Fougasse, Cream cheese, Sweet boule. All the breads were delicious, but the most impressive one was the Focaccia. The Cheese & Tomato one had a wonderful tomato flavor. The rosemary was also a nice accent. And the Fougasse was especially eye-catching. It's shaped like a large leaf. It's a bread from the southern region of France that contains 8 kinds of herbs and is kneaded with herb salt and olive oil. It goes particularly well with beer, cola, and carbonated water. The surface is crispy, but it's chewy when you bite into it. It was a hard bread that made me think it would be nice to buy a lot of them as souvenirs. Each bread is made with care and love. It's definitely different from mass-produced bread from other shops. After all, it's better to eat something delicious, right? I bought a lot of bread after a long time. Three days of bread indulgence. Ah, happiness. This is a highly recommended bakery for those who enjoy communicating with the people at the shop. I had a delicious time again this time. Thank you very much. I'll visit again.
