This pink tuna was already glistening with fat when it was placed on the plate, and the chef said, "Today's tuna is delicious." My expectations soared, and after tasting it, I was not disappointed. When I took a bite, it melted in my mouth and disappeared in no time—so rich in flavor! It’s absolutely delicious, with no heaviness or fishiness at all! I quickly ordered some sake. The sliced sea bream was sweet and had a nice, firm bite—extremely tasty. The grilled chicken is, of course, excellent as well. I can’t help but visit frequently because the fish served here is always guaranteed to be top-notch.

I visited this highly-rated restaurant recommended by my followers for a year-end party with my colleagues. We chose to sit on the second floor, which has table seating, after starting at the counter on the first floor. The appetizer was a delicious simmered fish that paired well with drinks—it’s often a sign of a good restaurant. The seasonal fatty yellowtail (around 700 yen) was excellent, with a good amount of fat and great value for the price. The skewers were large and ranged from 200 to 300 yen each, and they were all tasty. With three of us, our total bill for food, five beers, and 5 to 6 cups of sake was just over 4,000 yen per person, making it an outstanding value for this area. The staff's greetings and service were pleasant as well. I can see myself coming back here often.

I visited the restaurant with a friend. At around 9:30, the first-floor counter was full, so we were seated at a table on the second floor. There were about 6 to 8 four-person tables, more than I expected, so it seemed fine for a small drinking party. Here are some highlights from our order: we had a plate of five skewers of grilled chicken with a sweet and thick sauce. The meat was tender, and the portion sizes were relatively large. This day, we enjoyed it with sake, and they offered about 4 to 5 types of sake from Fukushima. I'm not sure if the lineup changes. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this popular yakitori restaurant, which is part of a chain with a location in Monzen-Nakacho, and I was really curious about it. The appetizer was cold tofu topped with spicy ingredients, and it was quite salty. The sashimi platter featured three types (horse meat, bonito, and grouper), but unfortunately, the whale meat was sold out, which was disappointing. The beef tendon stew was to my liking, with a great flavor. The quality of the chicken in the yakitori was very high! The rolled omelet had spicy minced meat and green onions on top, which was delicious, but if you were specifically craving a plain rolled omelet, you might be disappointed. Overall, the dishes were on the salty side, so it’s definitely a place that will encourage you to drink more beer!

I visited the branch of Shosuke in Monzen Nakacho, which was featured in the first episode of "Solitary Gourmet." I heard that the owner here is the son of the original Shosuke. Starting with the complimentary chicken miso, I enjoyed not only the grilled chicken skewers but also the delicious side dishes. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is lively and full of a downtown vibe, with the counter bustling with regular customers. There are table seats on the second floor, making it suitable for small gatherings as well. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) is definitely a must-try.

In the first episode of "Solitary Gourmet," the iconic tsukune (chicken meatball) stuffed peppers were featured at a famous restaurant in Monzen-Nakacho, which has now opened as "Shosuke" in Ningyocho, right by Ningyocho Station, in the location that used to be a meat sushi spot. It was hot, and I didn't feel like cooking, so I decided to check it out since they were open on a Sunday. I had visited the Monzen-Nakacho restaurant during a bar-hopping evening, but the menu here seemed a bit different.
I still remember the shock of eating their fresh stuffed peppers for the first time; nowadays, they’re served in many places. I ordered Kuro-ryu sake for 550 yen, which is a bargain, but it was sold out. They said they had no recommended or good-value drinks available either, which was disappointing. I ended up having a cup of Tenmei sake, but then I switched to sour cocktails. Unfortunately, the recommended horse meat was tough and hard to chew, but I enjoyed the original tsukune stuffed peppers and yakitori. Personally, I prefer salt seasoning over the sauce.
You can upgrade to a large mug for an additional 100 yen, which I recommend for the sour cocktails. It seems like they also have wine. There are really a lot of yakitori places in Ningyocho. So far, I haven’t found a place that surpasses my favorite spot, but I’d be happy to discover a great new place.

I was able to walk in on a Saturday night at 10 PM. The restaurant was almost fully booked and seemed quite popular. The focus is on grilled chicken, but they also offer a variety of other items such as sashimi and fried foods, covering the typical izakaya menu, even though the selection isn’t vast. The prices are reasonable, and the food tastes good.
I was seated on the second floor, so I was relieved not to be exposed to the smoke from the grilled chicken. However, I was surprised to find that the restaurant allows heated tobacco products, and my neighbor constantly smoked, which resulted in a strong smell. While I acknowledge it was my oversight since I missed the sign indicating their smoking policy, the restaurant's information on Tabelog stated that “all seats are non-smoking.” I really feel that even heated tobacco can affect the enjoyment of the delicious food, and I hope they consider going completely non-smoking.

It’s a cozy place that I can’t help but stop by. Every dish is delicious, and I love chatting with the regulars. The staff's thoughtfulness adds to the experience. I truly appreciate everything. The owner, who has a solid background in the culinary field, carefully selects the ingredients. Whether it’s chicken or seafood, everything is top-notch. I highly recommend finishing off with the chazuke (tea rice). No matter when I visit, I always have a great time. They also offer wonderful weekly specials. I look forward to coming back again.

I had a grilled chicken bowl for lunch. It was simply delicious. The cost-performance is also good. I would visit again.
