I heard that my favorite Taniya and Wa are opening a new sushi restaurant, so I finally got to visit. This time, we reserved the place for a group of guests from overseas. Everyone was very satisfied with the delicious sushi and heartfelt service! The staff were very kind to our international guests, which we truly appreciated. We will definitely come back!

I was very satisfied with the 25 dishes offered at this restaurant. While the individual dishes were ordinary, the nigiri had a perfect balance between the rice and the toppings, making it incredibly delicious. I've been getting tired of the overly sour rice lately, so the slightly sweet rice made with red vinegar, which had a deep flavor, was a perfect fit for my taste! If judging just the nigiri, I would rate it 4.2! To top it off, they even offered a noodle dish at the end, leaving me feeling completely full and satisfied. However, I should note that the price listed on Tabelog is 15,000 yen (tax included), but there is also a 10% service charge, bringing the total to 16,500 yen. I thought service charges were applied before tax, but it seems it's 16,500 yen in total! It was delicious, so in the end, it was all worth it!

The sushi rice was incredibly delicious; it had a nice sweetness to it while still maintaining the rich flavor of red vinegar, which I really liked. I think it's sushi that everyone would find tasty. The only thing is, it might have been better if the temperature varied a bit more depending on the topping. As for the side dishes, they were... well, a bit underwhelming. The interior of the restaurant is clean and nice, though. However, I think they shouldn't charge a 5% service fee for that experience. Since they just opened recently, I might want to try it again someday. Cheers!

The first review! (๑´ڡ`๑) I heard that one of the staff members at "Taniya Wa" previously worked at a sushi restaurant in the west, and they opened a new sushi place nearby on the 17th of this month. I went there on the second day of business!ヽ(=´▽`=)ﾉ The building is impressive! As soon as you enter, there's a delightful aroma of white wood (*´ｪ`*). I wonder if they renovated an old warehouse? You can see remnants of that in the ceiling. The appetizers are more like traditional Japanese dishes rather than typical sushi bar fare, but they're delicious, so that's fine! I enjoyed a generous serving of hairy crab (*´ｪ`*)♡, and there was a dish with fried taro that had an almost excessive amount of mullet roe on it, but the taro was pleasantly sweet, so no complaints! There was a plate with slices of returning bonito sprinkled with flower buds and diced onions, and I also tried the matsutake mushroom chawanmushi. The fig with sesame cream had a hint of yuzu, adding a nice Japanese touch. The dish with kuro-mutsu, nameko mushrooms in grated daikon, and fried hamo with a slightly sweet soy-based coating was refreshing. Then, as a palate cleanser, I got pickled root vegetables alongside some gari (pickled ginger), but there was celery in it... Ω＼ζ°)ﾁｰﾝ. The sushi here is different from the recent trends! While many places serve sushi with soft rice seasoned with red vinegar, the rice here is a bit firmer. The way it's shaped is gentle, yet you can really feel the grain's texture, making you savor each bite. The highlight was the mackerel sushi (鯵) – it was interesting! (๑´ڡ`๑) The thick mackerel was paired with ginger and Kujo green onions between the fish and rice, adding a wonderful fragrance! For the finale, I was expecting udon, but it turned out to be handa somen instead... I really wanted some traditional udon! I enjoyed delicious food and sushi in a calming ambiance. The selection of drinks was also great.
