We were looking for a hot spring hotel to celebrate my companion's birthday vacation, but couldn't find one with an outdoor bath that also avoids crowds. However, we came across a limited 3-room inn through the "New Style of Travel" campaign by Do-Min Wari! Although there was no discount, we decided to book a room at Lake Side Resort Pension Cushalera near Lake Kussharo, which we had been eyeing for a while. Due to the preparation of ingredients, I had to take a day off on Friday, which was not possible, but there was still availability on the following Saturday. We made a reservation over the phone and ended up at the Lake Side Resort Pension Cushalera. We stayed in a triple room with a loft, including breakfast and dinner for two adults at a total cost of 18,300 yen. The room was cozy with plaster walls and wooden floors, and the main hot spring bath was simple and comfortable. The outdoor bath had a nice temperature, and we were even able to see some jewel-like ice formations due to the wind direction pushing the lake ice towards the shore. The dinner menu included various dishes such as bruschetta, salad, soup, fish, steak, risotto, and panna cotta for dessert. We enjoyed our meal with beer, cider, and wine, and the service was excellent. The next morning, we had a generous breakfast with plenty of bread to take home. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
