Walking along the Cinema Street in the deserted town center of Honcho in Yubari, once a prosperous area, I stumbled upon a café with a sign that read "Toy Café." Despite my initial confusion, I decided to give it a try since there were no other coffee shops around. The café had a bright and inviting atmosphere, and the coffee served was rich in flavor, brewed using a press method with a metal mesh. The price was reasonable at 350 yen. The interior was decorated with cork, giving it a cheerful vibe, and there was also a terrace with a view of the back of the art museum. The town was beautiful with autumn foliage that day. The lunch menu offered items like beef curry (550 yen), Thai green curry (800 yen), and spaghetti with meat sauce (500 yen). They also recommended the Genghis Khan bowl (680 yen) made with Yubari melon and melon brandy sauce. The owner mentioned that they had been running the café for 6 years, while the toy shop had been in business for over 40 years but had seen a decline in customers due to the decreasing number of children in the area. Although it may seem intimidating at first, the café is a normal and welcoming place. There are few other cafes or coffee shops in the area, making this one a valuable find.

I had a Genghis Khan rice bowl. The meat soaked in a sauce with plenty of Yoichi melon juice is delicious! It costs 750 yen.
