[Nearest Station] Ebisu Station East Exit → About a 7-minute walk to Ebisu Garden Place Tower 39F. 【NEW OPEN on June 10, 2024!!】 A Korean restaurant has opened on the top floor of Garden Place, so I went to check it out! Across the street, there is a Thai restaurant called "Longrain," which I use quite often. While "Longrain" offers a view of Tokyo Tower, "NORAN" provides a stunning view of Mount Fuji for a fantastic dining experience.
The interior is designed in gray tones, creating a sophisticated urban restaurant atmosphere. There are counter seats along the back window facing the view, making it perfect for dates! Additionally, there are private booths and private rooms available, making it suitable for various occasions like business meetings. I don't often eat Korean food, but today I decided to order a la carte instead of a course and start with a variety of dishes!
[Today's Order] *Prices are tax included
◉ Banchan (Appetizer) ¥550 - A selection of garlic leaves in soy sauce, pickled onions, kimchi, and bean sprout namul served in small dishes for each person. For 550 yen, this provides great satisfaction and taste!
◉ NORAN Yukhoe ¥1,650 - A beautifully presented yukhoe with squid and meat mixed together at the bottom for a new texture, topped with plenty of perilla paste. The unique flavor of the perilla balanced the dish perfectly.
◉ Dunkalbi Gui ¥3,080 - Bone-in short ribs that are incredibly tender and fall-off-the-bone delicious. The sweet sauce is also great!
◉ Myeongdong Gyoza (4 pieces) ¥880 - Juicy like soup dumplings, bursting with meat juices, and the crispy texture of the vegetables shines in this dish.
◉ Today's Kejang ¥3,080 - Today's kejang features a whole snow crab. It’s best to wear gloves and eat it with gusto! The fresh crab meat is plump and delightfully delicious.
◉ Green Chili and Burdock Japchae ¥1,100 - The classic ingredients of japchae, such as sweet potato noodles and various vegetables, come together well while letting the green chili and burdock showcase their individuality. The green chili adds a particularly refreshing accent that keeps it enjoyable.
◉ Fern Namul ¥440
◉ Umeboshi Kimchi ¥550
◉ Beet Namul ¥440
◉ Steamed Radish Namul ¥440
◉ Baechu Kimchi ¥550 - I may have ordered too many namul dishes, haha! Each one pairs perfectly with drinks! The baechu kimchi has a unique flavor that might be polarizing; it has a very sweet entry followed by a spicy kick, differing greatly from the kimchi most are used to, so be aware!
◉ Beef Tongue and Kimchi Kimbap ¥1,650 - I ordered the kimbap without realizing it was a seaweed roll, haha! However, the texture of the beef tongue stands out, and it pairs well with the kimchi.
◉ Beef Tongue Suy ¥1,650 - Thinly sliced and slightly rare beef tongue is served with garlic leaves and mustard. The mustard packs a punch, so be careful not to add too much, or it might overwhelm your taste buds, lol.
◉ Mascarpone Brûlée Cheesecake ¥880 - A melt-in-your-mouth cheesecake that is caramelized with a torch right in front of you. It’s not overly sweet, and the crispy burnt sugar adds a delightful contrast in texture.
[Drinks]
◉ Shun Tsuji Fully Ripe Orange ¥715
◉ Suwa Murakami Winery Peach Juice ¥825
Since it just opened and perhaps hasn't gained recognition yet, there were quite a few vacant tables on a weekday evening. However, with this stunning view of Mount Fuji, it's in the perfect location and will likely become popular soon, making reservations harder to come by! Thank you for the meal! Phew.
