This is a lunch at a soba restaurant called "Duan" near Kamiiso Station. They have a spacious parking lot. Inside, there is a relatively large space with a modern interior and exterior. There are not many food shops around here, so it's convenient to have a soba restaurant. I ordered zaru soba, which is a common type of soba noodles. The texture was good and refreshing. Overall, it was decent, nothing outstanding but having a soba restaurant in this area is quite useful. In the southern Hokkaido region, zaru soba and mori soba are common, and many places offer large portions. This restaurant also had a satisfying portion. Thank you for the nice service.

This is a local favorite restaurant located in front of Kamioiso Station. The spacious and airy interior with tables set at a comfortable distance can accommodate 4 people per table at 5 tables. In addition, there is a counter for solo diners by the entrance, and private rooms are also available in the back. The apron-clad staff are kind and provide warm service. The cleanliness of the restaurant is top-notch, making it a cozy and relaxing place to dine. Katsudon Set ¥1080 *Comes with salad *A recommended set menu for those looking for a hearty meal. It's dangerous to come here on an empty stomach. Shortly after ordering, a two-tiered bento box is brought to the table... Wow, it's huge! Opening the top tier reveals a generous portion of katsudon with salad on the side. The white rice, generously coated with a sweet and savory sauce infused with shiitake mushroom dashi, is delicious. In addition to onions, the inclusion of large bamboo shoots is a pleasant surprise. The steam rising from the freshly fried cutlet is enticing. The bottom tier contains plenty of finely chopped seaweed-topped soba noodles... neatly packed. The smooth, mass-produced white soba noodles are refreshing with a clean finish. The square soba cup also comes with a lid, which, when opened, reveals a rich broth. The fragrant condiments of green onions and wasabi are generously provided on the side. Dipping the soba noodles in the sweet broth cup causes it to overflow... delightful. The thick-cut pickled daikon radish on the side, along with the Matsukawazuke pickles typical of Hokkaido, adds to the enjoyable dining experience. The miso soup, made with dried bonito stock, is also excellent... but it's a bit overwhelming. Seriously... impressive, Kamioiso in Hokuto. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Onigiri Set ~ Soba Restaurant Miyako-san Do you ever feel like you want to eat soba but also want to have rice? Or maybe you want to eat udon but still crave rice as well? In such moments, a set meal with rice is a great solution. The soba restaurant "Miyako" in Hokuto City is a place that offers such satisfying options. In addition to individual soba dishes, they also have set meals with rice. One popular choice is the "Onigiri Set", where you can enjoy kake soba or mori soba with onigiri for just 500 yen. They also offer combinations with dishes like "tanuki soba" or "tempura soba", with the tempura soba and onigiri set costing 650 yen. Eating rice at the end somehow makes your stomach feel more settled, doesn't it? Soba Restaurant Miyako 2-9-20 Iiyo, Hokuto City, Hokkaido 0138-73-3156 Opening hours: 11:00-20:00 Closed on Sundays

On July 27, 2015 (Monday), after attending a memorial service at my wife's family home and offering a memorial tablet at the grave, we stopped by a restaurant in front of Kamiiso Station. The fresh squid tempura, cut into small squares, was delicious. The soba noodles were even better than those from fancy Tokyo restaurants. I'm not sure if they were hand-made, but the soba broth was just right. It was fortunate that they were open on a non-regular holiday! The day before, on the 26th, there was a festival in Kamiiso with a FM radio enka show (featuring Tamagawa Hisami and Omi Aya) and a fireworks display at the Kamiiso fishing port. As a result, most of the restaurants in front of the station were closed on the 27th.

This shop is occasionally used for meetings. It is located facing the Uwaiso Station street, with 4-5 parking spaces in front of the shop. Across the road, there is also a parking lot for the Chamber of Commerce, so you can cheat and park there (lol). Inside the shop, there is a space with tables and a counter right after entering. Going further back, there is a sunken kotatsu-like area. I always use this sunken area for meetings. I usually order soba, but today we all had nabeyaki udon, so I thought I'd write a review. The nabeyaki udon that arrived had tempura shrimp. It was crispy and very delicious. The only downside was that the boiled egg was cut in half. I prefer eggs that are mixed with the noodles and ingredients, so it was a bit disappointing like ramen. Well, it's a matter of personal preference. The dried shiitake mushrooms had a rich flavor and were delicious. The portion size seemed a bit small, but it might just be my imagination. It was just right for this old man. It's like a normal soba shop in town. It's nice to be able to use it without any hesitation.
