On March 3, 2023, near the village of Tomari in the Sea of Japan, I went hokke fishing with my friends. We caught small hokke fish and released them back into the sea, but it was a great catch! My friends said that when they can't catch anything, they usually stop by this restaurant on the way back. There were plenty of dried seafood and delicacies available, but I didn't bring much cash so I couldn't take photos. The dried baby scallops were cute and delicious, and the dried flatfish was only 100 yen. I will probably stop by again after fishing! Thank you for the meal!

Visited "Kanahara Shoten" in Kamoenai Village, which processes and sells locally caught seafood. It had been a month since my last visit. I went there to purchase the village's specialty product, "Kirikomi Hokke (300g)" for 540 yen. This 300g pack usually disappears in about 3 days because it pairs so well with sake and rice.

I visited "Kanohara Shoten" in Kamoenai Village, located south of Shikotsu Town. This shop processes and sells locally caught seafood. Their products are also selected as "hometown tax payment return gifts" of Kamoenai Village. One of their popular items is the sliced Atka mackerel (300g) for 540 yen. It is marinated in seasoning such as koji and salt, with a mild saltiness and acidity, perfect with sake or rice. They also offer a herring sliced product (300g) for 540 yen, which is not too salty and has a hint of sweetness from sugar and mirin. These make great accompaniments for a drink.
