I came across the outdoor easel menu and decided to visit. Sukiyaki Fujimoto seems to be a restaurant chain. I assume that the current concept is sukiyaki. The interior is quite spacious. Upon entering, there are table seats immediately to the right, with the main area having a U-shaped counter, and it looks like there might be a second floor as well. It's nice that you can casually stop by for a solo meal at any time of day, making the one-person hot pot and counter very appealing. The high ceiling here also adds to the pleasant atmosphere. For lunch, they offer both sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. Today, I ordered the "Domestic Beef Sukiyaki with 1.5 times the meat" for 1,800 yen. By the way, the standard portion is 1,300 yen. After about 15 minutes, my iron pot was served. Along with it, I received a Ranou egg, pickles, and a large serving of rice (280g). You can refill the rice infinitely, so the initial portion size is probably not very important. The iron pot features domestic beef that's very vibrant and beautiful. Besides the beef, there are udon, enoki mushrooms, tofu, cabbage, wheat gluten, yomogi gluten, and green onions. Although the meat is 1.5 times the standard amount, it was a good choice. I was quite hungry, so the standard portion might not have been enough. However, the 1.5 times portion was quite substantial, and I was very satisfied. As expected from domestic beef, the meat is incredibly tender and delicious. After finishing all the vegetables, I felt very full. Next time, I plan to come back to try the shabu-shabu.

I found a great place near my business partner's office. It's cold outside, so hot pot is perfect, right? I quickly went for lunch there! The taste, cost-performance, and atmosphere were all excellent. I had the domestic beef sliced sukiyaki, 200g for 2500 yen, and the rice was unlimited! I was torn between that and the wagyu steak & beef sukiyaki rice bowl, but since Kazuki said he would go for the bowl, I decided to stick with the sukiyaki. When it arrived, I couldn't help but laugh—the wagyu steak & beef sukiyaki rice bowl was a bit small. It looked delicious, but I probably would have still been hungry! Haha! Well, that's just how it goes! Overall, I had a pretty good experience, and I think I’d gladly come back again! Thank you for the meal!

After a long time, I had a meeting in Osaka. Before the meeting, I stopped by a restaurant that specializes in individual sukiyaki near my company. Since it was before the meeting, I decided to skip the large portion. As expected from Osaka, the city known for its food, I was extremely satisfied with the price, quantity, and quality. Even without the large portion, I was full. This is a place I would love to visit again when I'm in Osaka.

I was really looking forward to visiting this sukiyaki restaurant from the Fujimoto chain, as I'm a huge fan of Fujimoto's BBQ. However, it was somewhat disappointing. The taste was absolutely delicious! The meat was large, tender, and very tasty, and the flavor of the broth was just right, which was great. But the cost-performance ratio was really bad. Depending on the menu, it can be quite expensive. When it’s expensive, you naturally expect it to be delicious… so that was a bit disappointing. I just wish Fujimoto's BBQ was as delicious and offered such great cost performance!

I usually don't choose to eat sukiyaki when dining out because it can often taste overly sweet. However, I visited this restaurant to accommodate my companion's request. I was surprised that I could enjoy sukiyaki at this price, and the flavor was just right for me with a lower level of sweetness. I've found a place where I can casually enjoy sukiyaki! 😊

I visited Fujimoto, known for its sukiyaki in Horie. I've been curious about this place every time I passed by, but it turns out they don't serve lunch on Saturdays... which is unfortunate. I ordered the cheapest sukiyaki for 3,900 yen. It was delicious, but it's quite expensive for lunch, and I heard that lunch prices are cheaper on weekdays. So, I think dining here is better during the week. Thank you!

Namagata sukiyaki ¥1900, draft beer ¥600. The weather forecast said it would be better to wear long sleeves, but I ended up wearing short sleeves, so I'm feeling a bit chilly. That's when a hot pot comes to mind! I decided to order sukiyaki. The restaurant primarily has a counter seating. The sukiyaki pot arrived, covered with large pieces of meat. The meat looks delicious! Underneath the meat, there are napa cabbage, green onions, shirataki noodles, tofu, wheat gluten, and a bit of udon. The sauce is slightly sweet, and I feel like the flavor might get a little boring towards the end, but the meat has a nice thickness and meaty quality, which is great! Since it coincided with China's long holiday, most of the customers were Chinese. Thank you for the meal; it was tasty! 6.7

I visited for a lunch and day-drinking with my wife, making a reservation in advance. We ordered a Kobe beef sirloin and a mix of black-haired beef, totaling 150g. The hot pot was a personal size, with the meat served on a separate plate, while the other ingredients and the dipping sauce were already set in the pot, resembling a style of sukiyaki. Personally, I prefer grilled meats, but given the high quality of the meat, this preparation was quite enjoyable as well. In my opinion, the real Kobe beef and black-haired beef were both excellent, and the udon noodles were thick and chewy, perfectly complementing the not-too-sweet dipping sauce. I ended up finishing my rice while drinking beer, and my wife enjoyed hers along with some sake. Initially, I was a bit worried that having individual hot pots might take away from the experience, but being able to cook and eat at my own pace without worrying about others was actually a nice benefit. It was a bit of an expensive lunch, but I felt it was worth the price. Thank you for the meal!

For recovering from a cold, it's better to have sukiyaki than grilled meat, so I opted for this convenient place nearby. Last time, I came here just before it opened to try a taste comparison, and personally, I find Japanese beef tastier than Kobe beef, so I went with the "W" for Wagyu. This time, unlike last time, everyone else in the restaurant was foreign.

Thanks to the After 5 Stars team, I was able to take a quick day trip to Kansai. During the summer, due to heat management, the time for paddocks was shortened, and my schedule didn’t match up, so it had been since the end of June since I was last in Kansai. I visited Omiwa Shrine, and with less than two hours until the opening of Sonoda Racecourse, I realized that considering the travel time, my planned restaurant might be a bit rushed. Last time I visited Osaka, I was impressed by the lunch specials at Sukiyaki Fujimoto, which included a Japanese beef steak and a beef sukiyaki bowl, as well as a Japanese pork shabu-shabu set (with 1.5 times the meat). Could I make it there in time? I stopped by before 12:00 on Friday. Luckily, I was seated at a two-person counter right away, which felt promising. It seems more customers have increased since my last visit, and getting in without a wait was super lucky. My husband ordered the Japanese pork shabu-shabu set, while I indulged in the ultimate challenge with the weekday lunch limited Japanese beef sukiyaki set, also at 1.5 times the meat. My husband, who did the driving, took a break with a beer, and since it was the busiest time, our dishes arrived in about 10 minutes. The vegetables for the pork shabu-shabu included finely sliced green onions, mizuna, enoki mushrooms, tofu, kudzu noodles, and red leaf-shaped wheat gluten on top of yuba. I apologize for reusing an earlier photo, but I didn’t seem to have the yomofu this time. For the sukiyaki, beneath the meat were onions, white leeks, cabbage, mizuna, enoki mushrooms, tofu, dried wheat gluten, red leaf-shaped wheat gluten, yuba, and udon already included. I think sukiyaki in Kansai often has a sharp flavor from soy sauce and sugar, but Fujimoto's version has a comforting taste rich in broth. Dipped in the rich egg, it was incredibly delicious. The sauce was right on target compared to any sukiyaki I’ve had before, and the udon and wheat gluten soaked in broth were delightful. The pork shabu-shabu also had a wonderful soup balance, and I looked forward to enjoying the broth after finishing everything. Next time, I’ll probably have to wait in line to get in. Thank you for the quick and delicious lunch!

I visited for lunch. Although it's still a hot season, I chose to have sukiyaki. The restaurant was nicely cooled down, and it might feel a bit chilly until the food arrives, but once the sukiyaki comes, you'll feel warm and cozy. I opted for 200g of domestic beef sukiyaki, and I was quite satisfied with the quality of the meat, the portion size, and the value for money. I definitely recommend trying it at least once. I'm also curious about the wagyu steak and sukiyaki rice bowl for my next visit.

I visited around 1 PM on a weekday and there was no wait, so I was seated right away. I ordered the S-size sukiyaki with Japanese beef cuttings for 1300 yen. It was served quickly, and I could enjoy it at my own pace. I can eat quite a lot, but even the S-size was enough to fill me up. The dish included plenty of meat, vegetables, tofu, and more, so I was very satisfied!

In September 2024, I discovered a solo sukiyaki restaurant, which was new to me since I've only heard of solo yakiniku and shabu-shabu. The restaurant is called "Hatsu-Nadai Sukiyaki" and offers 100 grams of domestic beef for 1,900 yen. I usually eat sukiyaki at home once or twice a year, and if I go out, I tend to choose high-end traditional places. However, this restaurant offers great value for the price. It feels like a fast-food version of sukiyaki, with plenty of ingredients and substantial portions. They slice the meat after you place your order, which is a nice touch. There were a lot of inbound tourists, and I believe this is a very accessible place for them!

I visited a sukiyaki restaurant that serves lunch until 2:30 PM, which is 30 minutes later than others, making it convenient for me. I ordered the cheapest sukiyaki for 1,300 yen. After waiting a few minutes, I realized I forgot to take a photo, so I apologize for the messy picture after mixing everything together. This comes with an egg and two slices of thin pickled radish. I wondered if the pickles were this thin the last time I came. As I waited for it to warm up, I braced myself for the first bite. It’s sweet—there's a lingering sweetness underneath. The meat is labeled as domestic, but it's only 100 grams and it's the cheapest option, so I suppose it's to be expected. For this price, the flavor is acceptable. I initially thought the lunch prices were high but was happy they had lowered them, but I’m afraid I won't return after this experience. I have a lot of concerns about the place, but if I write them here, they might get deleted. Sadly, a friend highly recommended this restaurant to me, so it's disappointing.

【Sukiyaki Fujimoto】High location & great cost performance for sukiyaki lunch♡.*Just a 1-minute walk from Yotsubashi Station Exit 4*Weekday lunch special: Japanese beef cut-off sukiyaki for 1,300 yen. This sukiyaki restaurant just opened in April, and I was drawn to its striking exterior even before it opened. It seems to be part of a popular yakiniku chain from Fukushima. I was able to make an online reservation for a lunch seat on the morning of my visit, which was very convenient. When I arrived at 12 PM, the restaurant was almost full. For sukiyaki, you can choose from sizes S (100g), M (150g), and L (200g), with various options for meat including Japanese beef cut-offs, Japanese beef, Kuroge Wagyu, and Kobe beef. After placing my order via smartphone, the egg, pickles, rice, and sukiyaki pot came out within a few minutes. After simmering for about 5 minutes, it was ready to eat. The meat was tender, and I loved the taste of the sukiyaki sauce; it was delicious✨. Even with size S (100g), the rice is free for large servings and refills, and the pot was filled with plenty of vegetables and udon, leaving me feeling very full. From entering the restaurant to finishing my meal took around 35 minutes. It was refreshing to be able to enjoy a hearty sukiyaki meal during lunch. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 42, with both counter and table seating, making it easy to visit alone or in a group. The high ceiling made the space feel spacious, and it wasn't hot even while eating sukiyaki. The walls were adorned with a multitude of lanterns, creating an impressive interior decor. On the day I visited, about 30-40% of the customers were foreigners, and the menu was also available in English. In addition to sukiyaki, they also offer lunch options like shabu-shabu and steak bowls, so I would love to visit again✨. #Sukiyaki #YotsubashiGourmet #KitahorieGourmet #HorieLunch #ShinmachiGourmet #ShinsaibashiLunch #Gourmet #GourmetLina #GourmetStagram #OsakaGourmet #SukiyakiFujimoto

I visited the restaurant just after 2 PM. There were about 4 to 5 couples who seemed to be foreign tourists, along with a few male customers, and it was quite lucky that it was relatively empty, possibly because the last order was at 2:30 PM. The staff was friendly and cheerful, which was a pleasant surprise! Since it was my first time, I ordered the domestic beef sukiyaki for ¥1,300, which comes with a choice of rice sizes: small (120g), medium (200g), large (280g), or none at all. I learned later that you can order through a QR code on your phone as well. The iron pot heats up quickly due to its excellent thermal conductivity, so the staff advised me to lower the heat. Beneath the meat, there were plenty of ingredients packed in, including grilled tofu, vermicelli, gluten, napa cabbage, green onions, and udon, making it very filling! While the quality is not as high as black Wagyu beef, the amount for this price offers outstanding cost performance! I also ordered an additional large rice, and for the final bite, I turned my sukiyaki into a beef bowl with plenty of sauce. I left feeling completely satisfied and full. For those interested, I definitely recommend checking it out! The restaurant is spacious, and all the staff members were great, so I’m already looking forward to returning!

Yotsubashi ◇ Sukiyaki ◇ [North Horikawa, Nishi Ward, 1-chome] Located on the left side of the first street west after heading south from the intersection of Nagahori-dori and Yotsubashi-suji (Yotsubashi), you'll find "Sukiyaki Fujimoto." We made a reservation and visited on a weekend afternoon. It’s about a 15-minute walk from my home, but since it was hot, we took the subway for one stop. After announcing our names, we were led to the counter seats. We started with a beer (which was a mistake). When I ordered a bottled beer, the glass was cold, but the bottle was at room temperature (which was lukewarm). It seemed like it had just come out of storage? I took a sip and immediately decided to quit (regretful). I should have ordered a draft beer instead. ◆ Sukiyaki 120g (1800 yen) We could order via a mobile app, but verbal orders were also accepted. Most of the customers entering were international guests. The meat is cut after you order. The iron pot is pre-filled with vegetables, tofu, and udon, along with sweet soy sauce (sukiyaki seasoning), with the meat placed on top. It’s cooked on a personal stove, bubbling away. You start by grilling the meat, then gradually add the vegetables. It's more like a "meat pot" since everything is added from the beginning rather than traditional sukiyaki. The meal comes with rice and is quite filling. It's understandable why this place is popular with international visitors (and also great for Japanese guests). "Thank you for the meal!"

I visited at 6 PM and had a reservation, so I was seated at the counter. I ordered sukiyaki (a mix of Wagyu and Kobe beef) along with some sake. After placing the order, they brought out a pot with pre-set vegetables and added the sukiyaki sauce. They then cut the meat and placed it on top for me. Each person had their own stove, allowing us to adjust the heat and cook the food ourselves. While it’s not a place to linger, I think it's a great restaurant when you want to enjoy sukiyaki quickly without taking too much time.

The best value sukiyaki and shabu-shabu! Great flavor, great atmosphere, and great cost performance—it's got everything! The sukiyaki lunch is just ¥1,500, and even if you add 1.5 times the meat, it’s only ¥1,800. You can also enjoy unlimited rice refills, which is highly recommended! The shabu-shabu is refreshingly made with bonito broth. I was introduced to this place by someone I follow on Instagram. Thank you for the delicious meal!
