Today I found a series of restaurants while passing by. Should I make it a series?? Just kidding... I won't bother with that. Even though I had planned to leave around 2 p.m., this is already the fourth place I've visited today. I had written in my notes that I planned to leave by 2 p.m., but here I am at the fourth place. It's quite an achievement, I must say. It's quite challenging to find new restaurants in Kitami that I haven't written about yet. Today's fourth place wasn't found today while passing by, but rather a few days ago when I was running with my wife. We stumbled upon a butcher shop. Will my sense of direction lead me there again? I got a bit lost, but managed to find it. I'm quite proud of myself. When we passed by, the variety didn't seem too extensive, so I had to make a decision before going in. There was a sign that said "Hormone and Kiwa," so maybe it's hormone meat? Genghis Khan is effective when in a bind, so let's give it a try. The yakiniku restaurant was closed, with a note asking for reservations. So, I called from the car. I ordered 500g of lamb loin for 400 yen per gram. I also ordered the sauce separately, which I assume will cost around 2,500 yen. Upon further thought, the lamb at Shari and Bihoro is delicious, with prices ranging from 350 to 360 yen per 100g. So, at 400 yen, it seems a bit expensive. I bought some meat in Shari later on, and it was 320 yen per 100g. The quality seems good, but Shari and Bihoro are known for their high-quality meat. How does it compare? The house is old, so I cooked the lamb in the dining room using a Genghis Khan pot. The meat had some sinew, but it was tender and tasty. The flavor was on point, and the lamb was delicious. The sauce didn't seem particularly unique, but it was still good. Overall, the raw lamb was tasty, but at 400 yen, it's definitely on the pricier side.
