The restaurant is located just across the old Koshu Road, a 3-5 minute walk from Chitose-Karasuyama Station. The atmosphere is described as "dim and shadowy," yet it has a "modern and calming vibe." There are various seating options, including counter seats and arrangements for parties. I entered alone and ordered the following:
**[Order Summary]**
- Craft Beer (2 glasses): 1,760 yen (including tax)
- Iburigakko (smoked pickled radish): 480 yen (including tax)
- Grilled Skewers (3 pieces): 840 yen (including tax)
- Agedashi Tofu: 580 yen (including tax)
- Sake: 550 yen (including tax)
**Total:** 4,200 yen (including tax)
*Note: The receipt shows the total as 4,210 yen, but it was discounted to 4,200 yen.*
**[Craft Beer]: Yamaguchi Craft Beer Setouchi Weizen (880 yen including tax)**
- It has mild bitterness with a sweet and fruity aroma, making it easy to drink. There were two types of craft beer available, but since I enjoyed it so much, I ordered two of the same one rather than trying the other. I noticed that the menu didn't include draft or bottled beer, only two types of craft beer. Interestingly, some other reviews show images of a draft beer, which may be available for reservations or special courses; I'm not sure.
**[Iburigakko]: 480 yen (including tax)**
- It's sprinkled with a bit of white sesame, enhancing its smoky aroma. The slight bitterness is pleasant, and it has a crunchy texture. I wished for a bit more saltiness. It likely doesn’t match the unique flavors of homemade versions from different regions; there isn't a strong, wild flavor as you might expect from smoked daikon.
**[Grilled Skewers]: 840 yen (including tax)**
- Using Daisen chicken from Tottori Prefecture, I ordered all the skewers with salt.
- **Toro Liver (280 yen)**: Tender and juicy, with a great texture and flavor. Delicious.
- **Maruhatsu (280 yen)**: Smaller in size but tasty, in a round shape rather than flat.
- **Hatsu Moto (280 yen)**: Chewy with good texture and flavor. Slightly smaller.
- Overall, the skewers were flavorful, though I would appreciate a lower price. However, given the current economic situation, it’s understandable. I was pleased to find several rare cuts available on the menu.
**[Agedashi Tofu]: 580 yen (including tax)**
- Topped with sliced nori, green onions, and bonito flakes, the portion is just right. The outer texture is crispy, and the rich dashi broth is delightful, allowing the silken tofu to shine.
**[Impression]**
This place has a stylish vibe. However, the service from the staff was fairly average. Dining alone felt a bit pricey. It seems more suitable for groups of two or more. Although the prices are a bit high, it may be more appealing to working professionals for gatherings rather than students. The target audience of the restaurant feels a bit unclear, shrouded in a smoky haze!
