A small shop located just a 1-minute walk from the subway station "Kita 24-jo," run by a husband and wife team. The service is quick and the atmosphere is nice. Please note that there are only 2-3 counter seats and 3 table seats, so it fills up quickly. They serve multiple dishes almost simultaneously, which is great. The Tuna Yukke Donburi costs 1,300 yen and is very satisfying with a generous amount of fresh tuna. The regular size here is already large, so you will leave feeling full. You can also opt for a medium rice portion for an additional 80 yen, or a large portion for 150 yen, but be aware that they may run out on that day.

Located just a 1-minute walk from the subway station "Kita 24-jo," this small cozy restaurant is run by a husband and wife, providing quick and friendly service. With only 2-3 counter seats and 3 table seats, it tends to fill up quickly, so be aware. While they no longer offer daily specials, most dishes are priced at under 1,000 yen. Payment can be made with cash or even with PayPay, which is convenient. The "Tuna Yukke Don" is a must-try, showcasing how well raw fish and egg go together. It's incredibly delicious with what seems like medium fatty tuna included. The "Tuna Offcuts Set Meal" offers a reasonable way to enjoy medium fatty tuna, with tasty wasabi on the side. This is a signature dish in my opinion. The "Tempura Bowl" is crispy and the sauce is delicious. It's quite filling, so be careful not to accidentally order the large portion. The "Minced Cutlet Set Meal" features freshly fried large minced cutlets that are crispy and flavorful. Each dish is delicious and satisfying.

I had some business at the Kita Ward Office on a weekday. I was looking for a place to have lunch around Kita 24-jo. The first place I had in mind was full of parking spaces due to heavy snow, so I had to look for another option. The second place I found was a small seasonal cuisine restaurant called "Shun." I parked at a coin parking lot as I wasn't sure of the exact location, but it turned out to be in the same building as Tiger Curry. I was surprised to find out there was parking available. I ordered the fried horse mackerel set meal, which was very filling. The miso soup that came with it had a rich pork flavor. Another customer was having curry, which looked delicious, so I decided to try that next time. Thank you for the meal.

At North 24th Street, I wandered around without a destination for lunch. It was a bit early for lunch, and the popular "Tiger Curry" was still empty. Just when I was thinking if this place was okay, I saw a promising Japanese restaurant down a small alley. The curtain at the entrance had the words "Koryori Shun" written on it. I checked the restaurant information on Tabelog. A review from "Kitano Momitaro" praised the sashimi and gave a rating of 3.7! Tom-chan even got a 4.0! I have to go there. I silently decided to get my DHA and EPA intake. I entered the restaurant with my sleeves rolled up, and inside, the atmosphere was a bit dim with a faint light. The TV on the wall was showing a daytime information program. There were 3 counter seats, 2 four-seater tables, 2 four-seater tables, and 1 two-seater table, making it a cozy place run by a couple in their 60s. I looked at the menu on the wall and while tempted by the fried horse mackerel, I couldn't get the review from "Momitaro" out of my head. I ordered the "Hon Maguro Chutoro Kiriotoshi Sashimi Set @1,100 yen," which was marked as a special for the day. It was served in just 4 minutes! So fast (did they just put it together quickly?) (laughs). The plate was filled with three kinds of tuna, rice bowl, miso soup, flavored seaweed, small side dish, and pickled daikon. The tuna, ranging from chutoro to akami and negitoro, was a generous portion for one person. The rice bowl had a note saying "If you want less, please let us know," and now I understood why. The miso soup was packed with bean sprouts, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and egg, with a slightly strong and rich taste. The small side dish was shredded nagaimo, finely cut to show the skill of the chef. After taking some photos, I dug in. The fresh tuna had a silky texture and a good flavor, truly delicious with no complaints. And there was so much of it, I couldn't help but look up at the menu on the wall again to see if the price was really that good for this amount. The note "Special" made me wonder if the price was lower than usual or if the portion was just bigger. It's hard to evaluate when you don't know the usual situation, but I was truly satisfied with this lunch. The rice bowl, generously filled, looked like Hokkaido rice, and the perfectly cooked rice was incredibly delicious. For me, a meal where the rice is delicious is worth three times the usual rating. At first, I thought it might be too much, but it was so tasty that I finished it all easily. The pickled daikon, served as an essential side dish for a set meal, was also highly praised. Now, I'm curious about the evening menu. The menu on the wall mentioned a "Drinking Set for 1,000 yen," which includes two drinks and two small side dishes. A restaurant that can serve such dishes well must be a great place. I would like to revisit for a delicious drink and snack if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

This was my first visit here, brought by a senior colleague who passed away in April. My favorite shellfish was not available. I enjoyed a delicious sashimi assortment.

Plaza Street Famous Restaurant Street - A casual dining restaurant with great value for money in this area. This time, I had a delicious set meal with cuts of tuna - medium fatty tuna, green onion tuna, and lean tuna. It was excellent.

I visited for a meeting during this time. The evening set with two beers and two small dishes for 1000 yen was the best.

I went to "Shun," a small restaurant in the dining district behind the North 24th Street terminal. I was planning to order oyster fry or horse mackerel fry, but I was drawn in by the smell of curry from the neighboring table and ended up ordering the pork cutlet curry instead. I found it amusing how easily I was swayed from my original choice. The pork cutlet curry that was served in front of me had a home-cooked feel to it, but when I tasted it, it had a mild spiciness typical of a Japanese restaurant.

I was drawn into this restaurant while struggling to decide on lunch. I ordered the tempura bowl from the various menu items lined up inside. The tempura was cooked perfectly, enhancing the deliciousness of the ingredients. It almost felt like I was dining at a top-notch tempura restaurant. The tempura was perfectly crispy and the sauce had a great flavor and portion. I was very satisfied with the tempura bowl. It was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had planned to go to a certain restaurant in this area, but it was closed, so I ended up going to a nearby izakaya for lunch. I parked at a nearby coin parking lot since the izakaya's parking lot seemed small. The izakaya was small, with 3 counter seats and 3 tables. The TV was playing a daytime information show in the background. I looked at the menu and decided to try the "Shun Teishoku" lunch set (1300 yen) which came with a choice of fried oysters or ginger pork. I chose the ginger pork. The food came out quickly, and the sashimi looked delicious. The octopus, tuna, and flounder sashimi were all thick and tasty. The ginger pork was thinly sliced and flavored with a gentle ginger taste, along with onions. The shredded cabbage had a creamy dressing, and the spaghetti salad had a mayo-ketchup flavor. The miso soup with pork and vegetables was also delicious. Although the lunch set was a bit pricey at 1300 yen, the quality of the sashimi made it worth it. Overall, it was a satisfying meal with delicious sashimi.

Welcome! Located in the North 24th district of the North Ward, if you head west from the North 24th bus terminal, you will find a large, old building on the 1st floor next to shops like 1043276, Cha-Han-ya, Sandal Diner, and a student-friendly restaurant with small dishes and a high threshold. The atmosphere is like a traditional eatery with a low threshold, and the interior is cozy with only 3 counter seats available. Looking up, you will see the daily lunch menu on the right. I tried the daily special which was a one-coin lunch with a thick omelette. The food was delicious and well presented, including simmered hamburger steak and thick omelette set meal with miso soup and pickles. The hamburger steak was juicy and slightly sweet, while the omelette was fluffy and flavorful. The miso soup had pork in it, and the potato salad was homemade with a light mayo dressing. Overall, the two owners have put a lot of effort into creating a great one-coin lunch option. The restaurant is also popular for evening drinks, offering small dishes to accompany alcohol. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Since the consumption tax increased to 8%, this was my first visit. I was worried about how the prices might have changed, but when I went, the famous 500 yen daily lunch special had not increased in price. Truly the friend of us budget salarymen (laughs). This time, instead of chicken Karaage, I got three pieces of chicken Karaage. In exchange for one less piece, they included two rolled omelettes. There's also a fish ball inside the rolled omelette, which is really tasty. And the fish broth in the rolled omelette is delicious. The Karaage and rolled omelette don't taste like a 500 yen lunch special. There's no sense of cutting corners. The amount of rice is still generous, almost 300g. By the way, you can get a large serving of rice for an additional 110 yen. Adding natto for 60 yen, a raw egg for 60 yen, if you feel it's not enough, ordering all three extras would only cost 730 yen. I think it's cheap. However, the minced cutlet set has increased in price from 550 yen five years ago to 650 yen. It seems they no longer have a stamp card. Still, maintaining the 500 yen lunch special is quite something. The narrow store was packed with customers on this day as well. I'll definitely come back. <Review from March 2009> I tend to think that a 500 yen lunch special is just "cheap" or "not enough in quantity," but the 500 yen lunch special here is quite good. I ordered the chicken Karaage set on this day. The price is generally low, with options like a minced cutlet set for 550 yen also available. The chicken Karaage had four pieces, which was a bit lacking in quantity, but the taste was top-notch, not what you'd expect from a 500 yen lunch special. The ginger flavor was strong, the seasoning wasn't too heavy, and it was delicious. The meat was crispy. If only there was a bit more in terms of quantity. The cabbage and potato salad portions were quite generous. I was surprised by the amount of rice. Personally, this is already a large serving for me... Unfortunately, I left a little rice unconsumed because I didn't expect this much. The miso soup had plenty of onions and a good broth. The pickles seemed to have a lot of food coloring, but considering the price, maybe it's understandable. There are many eateries like this around the 24th Street area, so choosing a restaurant is enjoyable.

At the entrance, there is a whiteboard displaying today's menu, so people with likes and dislikes can decide before entering the restaurant. I usually check the sashimi content of the seasonal set, but lately the fish has been expensive so I often opt for fried dishes. The most popular items are the horse mackerel fry, which attracts people from afar, and the minced cutlet, which is also highly popular and a choice I often make. Today's lunch is 600 yen, but since the ingredients are reasonably priced, I don't often choose the curry, even though it is delicious.

I used the opportunity to have lunch with a friend as we were nearby. The restaurant was small and had an old-fashioned feel to it, serving as a casual izakaya in the evening with very cheap drinking menu options. During the day, it operates as a regular set meal restaurant. I ordered the Seasonal Set Meal (1100 yen) and my friend ordered the Daily Special Set Meal (500 yen). The Seasonal Set Meal included a large bowl of tuna, squid, and oil-fried flounder sashimi, along with ginger pork. The Daily Special Set Meal consisted of ginger pork and squid rings, all for just 500 yen which is very affordable! The portions were decent and the taste was home-cooked and delicious, so I was personally very satisfied. I especially felt that the Daily Special Set Meal offered great value.

If you want to have lunch in 24-jo, I recommend this place. It's delicious, cheap, and has a warm atmosphere. The owners, the master and mama, are very friendly. 24-jo is a popular area for students, business travelers, and elderly people, so this place is well-received. The daily special is the best choice. The menchi katsu is also delicious, but... It's hard to find a place where you can have such a tasty meal for just one coin. It's a cozy place that even solo diners (including women) can easily visit, so I recommend stopping by for a meal. Please give it a try.

It's a small restaurant, always crowded, with the name "Koyoshoku" (small dishes). The menu highlights "Shogayaki" (ginger pork) and "Menchiage" (fried minced meat). The food is of high quality, with a focus on salt-centered dishes. They even offer dishes like whale ginger pork, showing their commitment to traditional Japanese cuisine. During lunch, you can get a rice bowl, soup, and ice coffee for only 550 yen, which is quite affordable. Despite being new, the restaurant has quickly become popular in the area. In the evening, they offer a set of 3 dishes and 3 cups of sake for only 1000 yen, a great deal. The food is consistently good, maintaining a high standard. It's delicious and highly recommended!
