The restaurant is located at 1-1-10 Haruyoshi, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, approximately a 5-minute walk from "Watanabedori Station." This place opened in October 2023, with its exterior situated inside the Yanagibashi Rengo Market. Inside, there are counter seats on the first floor and table seats on the second floor. However, the restroom is on the first floor, which can be inconvenient. It's important to be cautious while using the stairs to the restroom.
The menu features seafood dishes such as "Seafood Rice Bowl," "Chikappa Luxurious Hakata Seafood Bowl," "Ebi Tempura Bowl," "Ebi Tempura Shinshu Soba," "Hakata Seasonal Fish!! Sashimi Set," and "Hakata Seasonal Vegetables!! Tempura Set." I ordered the "Chikappa Luxurious Hakata Seafood Bowl." When it was served, the seafood bowl indeed looked luxurious! The fish was thickly cut, and golden flakes added a nice touch.
I first tried the blue fish, "Buri" (yellowtail), which was rich and delicious. The "Chutoro" (medium-fat tuna) was also great with its delicate fat. The "Salmon and Sea Urchin Roll" was tasty! The "Squid and Ikura" (salmon roe) was superb! The "Shrimp" was sweet with great texture! However, the "Tai" (sea bream) and "Saba" (mackerel) were somewhat lacking today. The rice was warm but a bit small. By default, if you don’t specify otherwise, you receive a smaller portion of "regular size," but there is a note on the menu stating "free large rice servings," so big eaters should request it.
The "sesame soy sauce" to pour over the seafood bowl was delicious and highlighted the flavors! The miso soup consisted of "Tai" scraps. The dessert, "Almond Tofu," was also tasty! After finishing my meal, I noticed some issues: the menu, printed in black with red text, was hard to read, especially for people with color blindness or astigmatism. Additionally, having a spoon for eating the bowl would be helpful, as it might be cumbersome for women to eat in large bites.
Moreover, the background music (J-Pop) was quite loud, and the female staff tended to be indifferent and served in a very businesslike manner. I noted that there’s room for improvement in these areas. There are many seafood bowl specialty shops in the Yanagibashi Rengo Market, so comparing them could also be enjoyable. Thank you for the meal! Enjoy your gourmet life!
