It's been so long since I visited this restaurant. I remember it opened around 2010 in this area. In a tough district where many other shops have closed over the years, including popular ones like Grobule, Chelsea, Marufuku, Hirochan, and Punch (which has since reopened in a new location), this restaurant has managed to establish itself as a trendy spot for 13 years. I'm looking forward to tasting their food again after such a long time. It's been so long that it feels like my first visit all over again, so I'll stick to my rule of "first time at a restaurant: chicken curry with free choice of spiciness up to a certain level." I was actually really hungry and tempted by the all-you-can-eat naan and the paste curry, but I'll save that for next time. I ordered the tender chicken curry (1130 yen) with a spiciness level of 40 and extra rice (+130 yen). The soup was a thin, reddish-brown broth with a strong cardamom aroma and a refreshing cumin aftertaste, complemented by the sweetness and umami of onions. It was a familiar and delicious taste that I enjoyed as the flavors blossomed. The combination of vegetable umami and spice aroma was followed by the richness of the chicken and the richness of the tonkotsu. The tonkotsu was smooth and easy to drink without a powdery feel. The large pieces of tender chicken were truly tender and juicy, with no unpleasant smell or taste. When combined with the rice and soup, it created a harmonious explosion of flavors in my mouth. The vegetables - boiled eggs, carrots, bell peppers, eggplant, stewed cabbage, mizuna, daikon, and potatoes - were all surprisingly sweet, juicy, and well-flavored, blending perfectly with the soup. I was truly amazed by the sweetness of the vegetables. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked, with a nice firmness and a delicious taste that paired well with the soup curry. Overall, I was impressed not only by the depth and complexity of the soup's flavors but also by the incredible deliciousness of the vegetables. I haven't encountered such delicious vegetables since Atman or HoodDog. I think I'll have to revisit this restaurant very soon. I'm torn between trying the paste curry next time or maybe even the natto, which used to be incredibly delicious here! Now I'm undecided. Haha, thanks for the meal!
