I visited a cafe called "Kissaten Caramel Do" which is known as a cafe for solo customers. The atmosphere inside was like stepping into a different dimension, with a nostalgic retro feel. The cafe had a cozy and high-quality interior, and the staff welcomed me warmly. I ordered a deep roast blend coffee and a dessert called "Liquor-soaked dried fruits and nuts dark chocolate." The coffee was perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness and mild acidity. The dessert was a small plate with two pieces of dark chocolate containing rum-soaked figs, raisins, and roasted nuts. It had a distinct adult flavor due to the liquor. The cafe was a popular spot among young women, and I enjoyed my time there, feeling comfortable and relaxed. I would love to revisit this high-quality cafe when I have more time.

In a certain building, there is a cafe called "Carmel Do" that is designated for solo customers. The entrance door has a charming design. The menu is stylish and retro. I tried the cheesecake and hot coffee. The cheesecake was rich and delicious. It was a shame that they didn't have pudding during my visit, but there are various other menu items to enjoy. You can choose from different levels of coffee roasting, which is nice depending on your mood that day. The cafe is designated for solo customers, so you can enjoy reading or spend your time in your own way. This was a report from a visit to a hidden retro cafe in Sapporo.

I visited a cafe specifically for solo customers on a quiet Sunday to relax by myself. I ordered the weekend special quiche and seasonal dorayaki. While reading the Carmel newspaper, I waited for about 8 minutes until my order arrived. The quiche with yam and bacon was outstanding, especially because of the texture of the yam. After finishing the quiche, I enjoyed a rum raisin dorayaki, which was also delicious with a subtle sweetness, perfect for adults. Above all, being able to spend a quiet time in a cafe in the city is the best. It's like an oasis in the city.

Visited around 5:30 PM on a Saturday, after about 3 years. It's still only for one person, which hasn't changed. The atmosphere inside the shop is very calm and time seems to pass slowly. Ordered a dark roast blend for 650 yen and a seasonal dorayaki for 380 yen. The popular baked pudding and quiche are already sold out. The dorayaki is not too sweet, and I can eat it even though I'm not a fan of sweet things (probably influenced by Doraemon...). The seasonal dorayaki is a rum raisin flavor and it's not too sweet. It's a peaceful time to read a book or indulge in contemplation. Thank you for the meal! #Sapporo's right choice

DENO's flagship store is located on the 6th floor of KY Building at 6-20-2 Minami 1-jo Nishi 6-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. I had been curious about this place after seeing their menu and atmosphere on Instagram. I finally had the chance to visit on May 4th during the Golden Week holiday around 1 pm. The entrance to the building had a sign stating that it is a "cafe for solo customers only," and that even if visiting with two people, they should sit apart and refrain from talking to each other. Upon entering the elevator to the 6th floor, I was greeted by an antique wooden door with frosted glass. The interior was not visible from the outside. Inside, there were several counter seats on the left, tables in the back, and counter seats facing the wall. I was seated at the counter near the entrance. The place was almost full, with mostly solo female customers and about 20% male customers. The ambiance was a mix of antique and modern furniture. The menu was presented like a paperback book, with seasonal specials on a separate sheet. I ordered the Earl Grey Classic tea, which was served in a white porcelain pot and cup. The bergamot flavor was gentle and soothing. I also tried the Caramel Do's pudding, which was rich and flavorful with a hint of bitterness from the caramel. Lastly, I had the Rum Raisin Dorayaki, which had a Western twist with homemade rum raisins mixed into the white bean paste. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, with no talking allowed and a strict no-smoking policy. I look forward to trying their coffee and cakes next time.

I visited after about a year. The atmosphere was calm as before, and this time I chose a seat towards the back. I was curious about today's coffee, but I was thirsty from walking, so I chose iced coffee and a citrus and chocolate tart. The coffee was easy to drink, and the tart was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. They also serve alcohol, so I might challenge that next time.

I've always wanted to visit a cafe for solo dining and chatting, and this place seems perfect as I'm still a bit nervous about socializing. I arrived 5 minutes before opening and became the second person in line. Upon entering, I was able to choose my seat, so I picked a cozy sofa near the bright window – I love natural light. However, I later realized that it wasn't the best spot for eating stew, but perfect for a cafe setting. I ordered the pumpkin stew of the month, carrot cake, and a cafe au lait. I accidentally ordered the coffee first, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. The stew was delicious with chunks of pumpkin and turnip. The bread served with it was also tasty. The carrot cake was spicy due to the ginger, creating a unique and rich flavor. I would love to come back on a weekday as I heard it gets really crowded on weekends. Thank you for the meal!

A cafe filled with a retro vibe, where you can fully enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere. From the desks and chairs to the small items in the store, I am always charmed by the attention to detail and design. The time spent here alone, reading a book with coffee and sweets at hand, is truly something special. I highly recommend paying a visit!

I wanted to eat zenzai, so I searched on "Tabelog" and found "Carmel Do". After finishing all my plans for the day, I went to eat there! There was a sign on the first floor saying "For 1 person only", and when I reached the sixth floor and opened the door, I was captivated by the wonderful atmosphere! It's really stylish! And all the seats are for one person, creating a unique sense of space. Wow! I haven't eaten yet, but I can already tell it's a great place! I ordered zenzai and dorayaki, with a salty snack on the side to add some variety to the taste! Awesome! Highly recommended! Next time, I'll try other menu items!

A café on the 6th floor of a building. It's limited to solo customers, so it's very quiet. Soft music plays, but the sound of the pillar clock is even more prominent. Tick-tock, tick-tock. There's a sign on the table saying, "Please refrain from conversations and enjoy your alone time." You ring a bell to call the staff. They are strict about maintaining a quiet atmosphere. I came for something sweet. I had the seasonal fig and red wine dorayaki. It was incredibly delicious. The sweet bean paste was not the usual color but the color of red wine. The dry texture of the fig and the scent of cinnamon made me a little tipsy. Today's coffee was Kenyan. It was a bit more bitter than expected, but it paired well with the dorayaki. When I arrived, there were two other customers, but by 1:30 pm, it was almost full. It's a really lovely café.

The restaurant is designed for solo dining, but we went with three people. We were able to sit side by side at the counter, but it was refreshing that we couldn't have loud conversations. The concept and atmosphere were enjoyable. It seems like a good place for reading or contemplation. The staff were chatting normally with each other.笑

I found a cafe on Instagram that is for solo customers only, so I decided to check it out. As I ascended to the 6th floor of the building, a retro door awaited me. The wooden frame door with brass handle, corrugated glass with gold letters from Carmel Do, gave off a 60s vibe. Upon opening the door, the interior was retro-modern with blue walls and brass-like stands that stood out. The luggage storage being in the form of a laundry basket was a nice touch! Since it's for solo customers only, there is no conversation. The acoustic background music and the ticking sound of the pendulum clock are the only sounds you hear. I wanted to have pudding, but they were not serving it at the time, so I decided to try the coffee dorayaki. The coffee's slightly bitter red bean paste was innovative, the dough was not too sweet with a hint of cinnamon fragrance, and the sweetness followed afterwards. It was an interesting taste. The iced cafe au lait was delicious, and the glass it was served in was nice too. It felt like being in a library reading room, making it a good place to relax and read. It's a cafe that appeals to women, but men can also relax there. It was a nice experience, thank you for the meal.

I was able to easily enter a café for solo customers (given the current situation). It has a nice atmosphere. I wanted to try the pudding, but it wasn't on the menu. I ordered cold brew coffee and cheesecake, both of which were delicious and made for a great experience. I also noticed quiche on the menu, so I'd like to visit again.

I visited the restaurant on the 4th day of the New Year when they reopened. I was eager to try the "Brown Rice Mochi Zenzai Set" that I missed out on last year. This limited-time offering from the 4th to the 7th features zenzai with a generous amount of red bean paste that isn't too sweet, giving it a nice texture. As a red bean paste lover, I couldn't get enough of it. The combination with the fragrant brown rice mochi was perfect. It was warm and deeply delicious, a truly happy taste. I adore Caramel-Do and it looks like I'll be visiting many times again this year.

I was planning to go to a different cafe, but my plans changed in the morning, so I ended up visiting this solo cafe. The atmosphere is very quiet, with no talking among customers or staff. Perfect for organizing data. - Dark Roast Blend Coffee 630 yen - Coffee Dorayaki 310 yen The pudding I saw on Instagram must have been a limited-time item as it was not on the menu. The coffee dorayaki was quite unique, with the coffee flavor spreading throughout the mouth and lingering in the nose. The coffee could have been even stronger, but it was just right when paired with the dessert. Overall, I was able to relax and enjoy my time at this solo cafe. It was a great experience!

Wandering new curry mania / rookie ramen mania, a solo middle-aged man. This is a memo-like review from an old man. If you are looking for concise information about the restaurant and food, please move on to other reviews around here. After a pasta lunch with a companion, I finally had some time to visit a restaurant I hadn't been able to visit for a long time. Due to the state of emergency declaration, they had been closed since around before Golden Week. I visited twice before, but they were closed...so I wondered if they had reopened soon, and that's why I visited this time. The location is in Chuo-ku, between Odori Park (6-chome) and Nishi 6-chome Minami 1-jo on Nakadori. The building where the main store of a famous dan dan noodles shop is located on the 6th floor. When you open the old-fashioned (actually not old) design door, you will find the restaurant. When I actually used it, I felt that they had been closed for a long time. Inside the restaurant, there are about 4 seats at the counter facing the kitchen, and single seats in the back (some counter seats), so it's not a very large space. Of course, they are leaving a certain distance between the seats. In such a situation, everyone is quietly reading books or operating their smartphones...anyway, it seems to be a unique atmosphere that makes you feel that minimal conversation with the staff is necessary. It's common to "stay for a long time" while using it. The old men left in about 40-50 minutes, but all the other guests stayed longer. Among the 5 guests, only one man left...the turnover rate is low, but is it okay? When entering, they confirm if the companions are okay with sitting apart. The old man sat at the counter in front of the kitchen, and the companion sat at a single seat in the back. When we sat down, we were informed that the standard "coffee dorayaki" was not available. Since it's a standard item...it's a little disappointing. In front and behind me, there were three tall drippers for making cold brew coffee. Maybe because the extraction time is long? Or maybe because there are many orders? Hmm...since we're here, should we make it a set with a slightly more expensive item. What will the companion do? I don't know because we're sitting apart. [Old man] - "Anmitsu" and green tea set (forgot the name) [Companion] - Lemon dorayaki - Something to drink, about 2200 yen including tax (1200 yen + 310 yen + ●●● yen). We ordered and it arrived in about 5-6 minutes. Anmitsu, black syrup, arare (rice crackers), green tea. The old man thought the green tea could be served in a slightly larger glass, or it would be nice if we could have a refill. After all, it's 1200 yen including tax. "Anmitsu" was something new for me. I've eaten "mitsumame" canned when I was a child, but...it's similar to that with red bean paste on top. Considering the season and the recent high temperatures, I thought it would be more refreshing, but it was served at room temperature...maybe that's how it's supposed to be. In summer, I used to eat chilled "mitsumame" straight from the can in the refrigerator (an outlaw way of eating?). So, I thought, oh, this is how it is. On the other hand, the "green tea" was rich, with a good balance of astringency, bitterness, and a slight sweetness, and I felt like saying, "I want another cup!" I had lunch with my companion that day, so I didn't bring my usual paperback book...so I thought about various things and reminisced. I couldn't come to a simple conclusion. When you visit, it might be a good idea to bring your favorite book. However, they seem to be asking people to refrain from using it for long periods for work or study.

Sapporo Minami 1 Nishi 6, "Karmel-do" is a nostalgic hideaway cafe with a relaxed atmosphere. Known for being a cafe where solo customers can enjoy during the pandemic, inside the retro door, there is a quiet space. They offer light meals and seasonal limited sweets. On this day, I tried the "Karmel-do pudding", a rich and firm classic pudding with a mild sweetness, served with cheese cream and rum raisins for an adult taste. I enjoyed it with water-drip iced coffee, which could also go well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal.

Finally, the long-awaited reopening. I have been eagerly waiting for it during the state of emergency from 4/24 to 6/20. I have been checking Instagram more often than usual. It really calms me down. My heart feels fulfilled. The limited menu until mid-July, the pudding is also very delicious. I like the firm texture and the twist of having rum raisins and cheese cream on the side. A sophisticated pudding. I am so happy that they have reopened.

I visited "Kissaten Carmel-Do," a cafe I had been curious about for a while. The cafe had been closed due to the declaration, but I heard they were reopening just before the declaration was lifted, so I finally got to visit. Personally, I think it's okay to go out as long as you maintain moderation. But even so, it seems like there are a lot of people who can't follow the rules, and just going out can make you feel like you're being judged. I'm honestly amazed. There are so many people in the city who wear their masks below their noses or even talk without wearing masks, which may be why the number of cases hasn't decreased and the declaration has been extended, with almost the same rules in place even after it's lifted. There are too many people who don't carry disinfectant spray. The rule of not eating while talking loses its meaning, and it's unpleasant to have a conversation with someone who doesn't cover their mouth. If someone says, "Wear a mask!" and you respond with, "You're cute," it just feels like they're making fun of you, even if that wasn't their intention. If you understand, I wish you had done it from the beginning. I traveled to Sapporo alone this time because of the reasons mentioned above. It's not that I've started to dislike people I know, but there are too many people who have problems with the rules around me, so I thought it would be more reassuring to go alone. If someone says, "Don't come and go at this time" or "Selfish brats," I can't deny it, and I don't know if my own measures are perfect. But I want to support restaurants by being careful and cooperating with them, so I've decided to continue my activities as long as I have time. If anyone has been made uncomfortable by my somewhat sophistical remarks, I apologize. I've written complaints and grievances irregularly before, but I've said what I wanted to say this time, so I'll refrain from doing so in the future. Please continue to accompany me on my reviews as much as you can. **Review:** Carmel-Do is a cafe that I've been curious about for quite some time. As of June last year, they seem to be operating with a policy of serving only one person at a time. It was a solo visit, so the timing was just right for me to visit. The location is in the building where Oniyanma Coffee is located, but it was a bit of a struggle to find, even when I checked on Google Maps. There's a certain tantanmen noodle shop in the building where Carmel-Do is located. The shop I visited is on the 6th floor of the same building. I entered the store after using the disinfectant I brought with me before touching the elevator button and the door of the store. (This is not limited to this time!) When I visited, there were only two empty seats, and one of them was a seat that would inevitably be next to another customer, but there was also a round table seat that could be used alone, so I used that. The table was lower than the counter seats, window seats, and central seats, but it was nice to have it available. I ordered "Carmel-Do's Pudding (¥460)" and "Guatemala (¥710)" this time. I was aware that cakes were their specialty, but I had actually been wondering if they didn't have pudding. So when I found out that they were offering pudding for a limited time when they reopened, it was quite a coincidence, and I decided to order it at this time. A few minutes later, the coffee and pudding arrived. The coffee had a slight bitterness but a refreshing aftertaste, making it easy to drink! There was no bitterness left in my mouth, and it left a mellow impression. They seem to be particular about their drinks, including coffee! The pudding was slightly off-center compared to the menu, but I guess that's part of its charm (laughs). The pudding was firm and reminiscent of traditional ones. Personally, I prefer firm pudding over soft ones.

Fixed-point observation. I tend to be drawn to limited menu cakes, so this time I tried the classic ginger carrot cake. When I lived in Tokyo, I got quite into carrot cake thanks to a friendly reviewer's influence, so I find the taste quite impressive. And how was it? It's delicious! Really!! The balance of spices and sweetness is good, and the moist, smooth texture is light and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this to carrot cake enthusiasts, they will surely love it.

Since my first visit in February, I have completely fallen in love with this place and have been coming back whenever I can find a time slot. On weekends, there is usually a line outside the shop, or more accurately, people waiting in chairs (spaced out for social distancing). That's why I tend to visit on weekday afternoons. On this day, I ordered the citrus and chocolate chip tart (limited edition for March and April) and a medium roast blend. I enjoyed the delicious cake and coffee while relaxing and having a blissful moment. The tart of the month had a perfect balance of citrusy sweetness and crunchy chocolate chips, which I found addictive. The atmosphere is not just for show, the sweets and drinks are also delicious, which is fantastic. The place is very quiet with only solo customers, making it perfect for someone like me who enjoys solo activities. It's a truly lovely shop. Highly recommended!
