A yearly trip to Hakodate. This time, I extended my journey to Onuma. I hit this restaurant in Onuma called "Onuma Genghis Khan." I was excited to visit a meat shop. Since it was just after opening time, I entered the restaurant almost at the same time as a couple, and I think we were probably the first customers. The cheerful and polite staff took our orders while explaining the menu. I ordered a serving of Genghis Khan, rice, and oolong tea. I didn't have to wait long, maybe about 10 minutes, before a plate, or rather a tray, of Genghis Khan was brought to our table. I was like, how many servings is this... I eat quite a lot, but can I finish this... Maybe I should have skipped the rice... I hate leaving food uneaten... And I still haven't digested the soft serve ice cream I had earlier... While I was thinking about all this, the staff's explanation was only half-listened to (sorry), but the staff seemed surprised by me and said, "You may not look like it, but you can eat quite a lot." So, I thought, let's just start grilling... I placed almost half of the lamb and vegetables on the hot plate on the tray. As the color changed and it started bubbling, I mixed them together as instructed. Alright, it's ready to eat! I grilled the marinated meat, but I wondered if dipping it in the sauce again would make it too salty, but I still dipped it in the sauce. I took a bite after putting it on the rice (laughs), and wow, it's delicious! The meat is tender! Since it's raw lamb, there's no gaminess! (I like gaminess, though, haha) Even though it's marinated in sauce, it's not too strong! I actually want to dip it more! The rice goes well with it! Okay. All my initial worries disappeared. Before I knew it, I had finished half of the dish. I realized, "Excuse me, can I have a rice refill, please?" I asked. Oh, how terrifying (laughs). Of course, I finished it neatly. By the way, the straw that came with the oolong tea was made of paper. Eco-friendly. It's important, right? The bill is settled at a neighboring office-like place, and when I was led there, they announced loudly, "Here is the customer who had a rice refill!" I couldn't help but laugh. The cashier lady kept a straight face. It's fine, I had a refill... Ah, satisfied. Full. Thank you for the meal!
