[Completely Non-smoking] In a residential area on the north side of Ebetsu City, Motomachi Betsu・Miharu-dai, there is a diner and ramen shop that has been loved by local residents for a long time. The location of the shop is along Gocho-me Street (Hokkaido Route 128), about 330m from the intersection with Route 110, heading towards the center of Ebetsu. I visited this place for the first time on August 15, 2023, at 1:30 pm. I had just eaten udon at a food court and felt quite dissatisfied. I realized once again that food courts are not for me, and if I don't eat something delicious, my dissatisfaction will only grow. So, I was cycling around looking for a good restaurant, feeling bloated from drinking so much water after the salty udon I had earlier. I decided to enter this ramen shop, which had mostly counter seats and a large tatami table seating area. The kitchen inside had three veteran women working, which gave the place a nostalgic drive-in feel that I really liked. The menu was interesting, and I was quite indecisive. If I hadn't eaten udon earlier, I would have ordered ramen and fried rice without hesitation. Since it was my first time at this place, I opted for the miso ramen priced at 850 yen, which was quite high. I also added bean sprouts as a topping. Looking back, I might have had a hunch about it. The miso ramen was served in a few minutes. It had a pork-based broth with the umami of vegetables, and I could taste a hint of kombu and dried fish. Garlic was also included, and the broth was quite rich with a strong miso flavor. Additionally, there was a generous amount of magic powder and lard. The stir-fried bean sprouts added a fragrant crunch and sweetness, enhancing the already appealing flavor. This was a classic Sapporo-style miso ramen that I really enjoyed. The noodles were medium-thick and cooked just right. The miso used was red miso, which had a deep flavor. This ramen, true to its old-fashioned style, had plenty of lard and magic powder. I cycled about 30 km after eating this ramen and felt extremely thirsty. This place is recommended for those who love old-fashioned, nostalgic ramen, but not for those who prefer modern ramen. This is just my personal note, so please don't mind. Taste: 4.6, Satisfaction Index: 98.

Blended ramen, Rich Miso ramen, Black Impact ramen, Golden Soup ramen, all have interesting names that make you want to try them at least once. In the past, there was also something called Horumon ramen. I had only tried miso at Aji no Taiyo, so this time I went for the soy sauce dinner set. Ramen + half curry or rice + zangi or wiener, all for 880 yen. Cheap! Ebetsu has many popular ramen shops like Matsuki, Ginparo, Kyuraku, Kotei, Ichikokudo, and Ryokatei. They have delicious ramen like Buta King from Jiro-style and house-style ramen as well. Now, the soy sauce ramen at Aji no Taiyo may not have an old-fashioned taste, but it has a nostalgic soy sauce flavor.

I had miso ramen at Taiyo no Aji for the first time in about 25 years. I had worked up quite a sweat at Kitano Tamayura, so I needed to replenish my salt levels. The restaurant has a lot of history. The miso ramen is like the traditional Sapporo miso ramen. The bowl is large. The soup is decent, but very salty! It was just right this time, but it would be tough on a regular basis. The taste is not bad. The noodles are Nishiyama, but seem to be the restaurant's original. There is no air conditioning, so I ended up sweating again.

93rd cup of 2021♡♡ Around 5:30 pm on 12/10, I went to Umakara for miso ramen, which I had been curious about. I tried to go during lunchtime, but it was crowded, so I decided to go for an early dinner at this time. There was a line right after I arrived. Umakara miso ramen is a bit expensive (lol). Since it's Umakara, the spiciness is not prominent, and the portion is large! The chashu is huge! It's hard to tell because the bowl is big, but the portion is really large, perfect for those with big appetites. I recommend adding lots of garlic and some shichimi pepper for extra flavor. There are many other menu options, so I want to go back again. Thank you for the delicious meal! (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

On a certain weekday, I went on a little expedition for lunch and visited a ramen restaurant in Miharashidai, Ebetsu City. The parking lot seemed to be in front of the store and in a wide area. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, with an L-shaped counter and a room that felt like a private room, and four energetic women were working in the kitchen. The background music was a daytime TV show rather than music. From the menu on that day, I found an interesting item called "Stamina Nachara Ramen" that seemed to energize me, but it was not available. I was told that they no longer serve that ramen and suggested a lunch set instead, but I decided to go with the "Salt Ramen," fried rice, and "Wiener" as the side dish. After a while, the food was ready. The ramen was huge! The bowl was about twice the size of what you would find in a more elegant restaurant, and the noodles in the salt ramen were medium-sized yellow curly noodles with a chewy texture. The soup had a strong animal flavor, and although there were some points to be concerned about when examined closely, it was fine for eating with enthusiasm. The toppings included bean sprouts, green onions, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and rolled chashu. The fried rice was lightly seasoned and oily, with red and white fish cakes, egg, onion, and chashu. The wiener was a soft and tender piece with the skin still attached. I also enjoyed the shredded cabbage and pickled vegetables on the side. Overall, it was a lunch set with a generous amount of food, just as the motherly recommendation suggested. Thank you for the meal.

In a town with a variety of ramen options, there is a Chinese restaurant run by experienced older women. The shoyu chashu ramen is so voluminous that you can't even see the noodles, making you eager to dig in. It has a rich and flavorful broth that is simply delicious. The gyoza is also tasty and easy to devour. Both dishes have unique presentation styles. The bustling lunchtime crowd filled with regular customers creates a lively atmosphere. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The ramen shop that my family used to visit many times when I was a child! It's been about 15 years since I last went there. The exterior has changed, but the taste and the cozy interior remain the same. They still serve vanilla ice cream bars. Thank you for the meal! (*^^*)

I had soy sauce ramen for lunch with curry and sausage. The ramen was huge, but I liked the taste. The curry was delicious, like homemade curry. The sausage came with vegetables, which was nice. I regret eating too much after the meal.

The food is delicious, cheap, and comes in large portions. The old-fashioned atmosphere inside the restaurant is great. The thick noodles go well with the rich soup, which I personally think is excellent. Also, it's nice that smoking is allowed throughout the restaurant.

About 25 years ago, I visited this restaurant a few times with Kyoko-san after work. I ordered the miso ramen without looking at the menu! And then... when I looked at the menu, the miso ramen was 850 yen! In this rural area of Ebetsu, that price is unheard of - popular ramen shops in Sapporo are in the 700 yen range. I don't understand at all! At any restaurant, soy sauce, miso, and salt ramen are all the same price, but miso ramen is 100 yen more expensive! Is miso soup base really that expensive? Well, I already ordered it so... I ate the ramen... I remember it being delicious in the past, but... it was terrible. The Sapporo ramen from Kikusui sold at supermarkets, the miso flavor for two people from Shirakaba Sanso, is much tastier. I couldn't finish it. And the service at this restaurant was the worst! No "irasshaimase" when entering, and no reaction when saying "gochisousama deshita" on the way out? I won't be going to this restaurant again!

The simmered tripe ramen is 800 yen. I also worked on Sunday and it was busy with customers, both workers and non-workers. The menu is extensive, making it hard to choose. The tripe has no smell and pairs well with the rich miso flavor. It is delicious.

Pork intestine stew ramen for 800 yen. I usually go for yakisoba, but decided to try something different this time. The flavor is just as rich as it looks! The soup had a sour taste at first, but my taste buds got used to it. The chives, onions, seaweed, and bean sprouts all mix well with the noodles. It's a hearty dish! The balance between the noodles and soup is great. It's delicious! The intestines are finely chopped and surprisingly not gamey. With the cold weather, this dish really lifted my spirits! The more I go, the more I love this place!

After finishing a meeting in Ebetsu, I went to this place at 2pm with two customers. We ordered the yakisoba in large size for 800 yen. It gave off an old-fashioned diner vibe. I sprinkled pepper on the yakisoba and poured some chili oil on it. I took a big bite and it was irresistible! I could eat it endlessly! I will definitely come back to eat again!

Miso ramen for 700 yen. It's like the old-fashioned Sapporo ramen with lots of bean sprouts on top. The restaurant has tables lined up on tatami mats, so it might be a bit tight if you're wearing a skirt, but it's not the type of place where you stay for a long time, so it's okay. There are so many menu options that I ended up choosing the same miso ramen after all the indecision. There seem to be a lot of tough-looking customers. Thank you for the meal.

During work, I visited this restaurant twice for lunch. I thought it was a long-established diner in Agecho, Ebetsu. A colleague from a cooperating company told me that the yakisoba here is amazing, so I thought, "It's just yakisoba, it's pretty much the same everywhere, right?" But if it's that good, I'll give it a try. I ordered the yakisoba for 650 yen. It looked pretty ordinary, with thinly sliced char siu instead of pork. But when I tried it... for some reason, it was delicious! Haha. It's yakisoba with sauce, but I wonder what's in it? Some kind of Chinese dashi maybe? There's something in there that makes it tasty. The oiliness coats the noodles and it's simple and delicious! I could even eat two servings of this! Next time, I'll try the large serving.

I had some errands in Ebetsu area and on my way, I came across this restaurant. The parking lot was full of cars, so I assumed it must be a popular local spot. It is located on 5-chome Street in Ebetsu, just past the intersection with 4th Avenue on the left side. Inside, there was a kitchen at the back with an L-shaped counter surrounding it, and on the right side were all the sunken table seats. There were about 10 table seats with cushions where you could sit. The restaurant could accommodate around 50 people when full. The menu had a wide variety of options, and there were also many items listed on the wall that were not on the table menu. Despite the lively atmosphere, it was a bit overwhelming to figure out what to order without scanning the walls for available dishes. I ended up ordering the soy sauce ramen (700 yen) and a chashu rice ball (200 yen) from the wall menu. The kitchen and the hall were all staffed by women, but the operation seemed a bit disorganized. The bustling and chaotic environment made it slightly unsettling to sit there. It took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served, and the first impression was that the bowl was quite large. The soup lacked a strong base flavor and had a strong soy sauce taste with seaweed broth, which was not to my liking. I found myself alternating between sipping the soup and drinking water as I ate. The noodles were a custom type from Nishiyama, with a yellowish medium thickness curly noodle that resembled Nishiyama's Sapporo noodles. The toppings included thin but large chashu, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, chopped green onions, and seaweed. While the chashu was average, the bamboo shoots were quite sweet for my taste. The chashu rice ball was decent, but it felt a bit oily for its mild flavor. Overall, the ramen did not suit my preferences, and the extensive menu and chaotic kitchen atmosphere made the experience less enjoyable. I left the restaurant feeling somewhat disappointed.

This restaurant serves really large portions! When they put the noodles in, they grab a huge amount and throw it into the pot to cook. This time, I ordered the miso vegetable ramen. The vegetables were crunchy and firm, which I prefer over soggy ones. The soup was pretty average. However, there was a lot of oil in it, so be careful not to drink too much. The noodles were Sapporo-style, with a chewy texture and yellow color. Many places that serve vegetable ramen don't include chashu, but this place had a generous portion of large chashu slices. It's the kind of place you occasionally crave.

It seems like this place is quite old, judging by the interior and the fact that it has been in business for a long time. That's probably why you shouldn't expect to see any smiles, even though it's all women working there! The service isn't bad though. Even though it was past lunchtime, they still offered me a lunch set! After golf, since the restaurant was closed, I stopped by "Aji no Taiyou." It was already 2:30 PM, but when I asked if I could still get a lunch set, the woman who seemed to be the owner said okay with a smile! I ordered the soy sauce ramen. The set came in about 10 minutes, with fried chicken and rice. The ramen had bean sprouts, which used to be common but not so much nowadays. It was a simple soy sauce ramen with a light chicken broth. The noodles were medium thickness and curly, nothing out of the ordinary. The fried chicken had a slightly oily smell. It's a typical old-fashioned ramen and set meal place, which is why you see a lot of families there. I'm sure it will continue to be the same in the future. Thank you for the meal!
