I have used this place for day trips before, but this time I decided to stay overnight. The restaurant "Suzuran" is currently only available for guests who have booked a one-night stay with two meals included, or for day visitors who have made a meal reservation in advance. The hot spring hotel "Yumoto Hotel Sansui - Beauty Hot Spring" is located in the town of Onsen, where the entrance to Okhotsk tourism is located, and is popular among locals and campers at the adjacent campsite. The access from Sapporo has become easier with the extension of the expressway to Abashiri, but it is still a 320km drive. The room rate for 3 people was exactly 10,000 yen per person, including tax, and there were no government campaigns available. The room was a Japanese-style room with 8 tatami mats, and the hot spring water was known for its skin-smoothing properties. The dinner was a balanced meal, and although there was no menu, it included various dishes such as octopus salad, salmon, scallops, grilled pork, tempura, steamed egg custard, rice, miso soup, pickles, dessert, and optional cold sake. Overall, it was a reasonably priced hot spring hotel, suitable for those who want to enjoy the hot spring without a focus on gourmet meals. I personally enjoyed the fried eggplant and onion tempura in the meal. The breakfast was also a set menu with a focus on vegetables. The hotel seems to cater to those who enjoy exploring nearby dining options. I will definitely consider staying here again. Thank you for the meal.

At the small hotel in 2019, it seems that the set meal style has less waste compared to a buffet, right? I came to Oozora Town, Memanbetsu for work and stayed at Hotel Sansui. The first night was in a Western-style room, spacious and clean. The second night was in a Japanese-style room, where I overlooked some areas that may have been missed during cleaning and accepted it with a forgiving heart. Since there were no shampoo or body soap in the large communal bath, I brought towels and amenities from my room. The smooth hot spring quality here is popular even among day-trippers. The communal bath is only open until 10 pm, so guests cannot use it after that time. After having drinks at a local snack bar, I returned to the hotel at 11 pm... I was able to take a morning bath, but it was sad that the outdoor bath was not available in the morning. They are not very accommodating to staying guests. Breakfast was served in a set meal style with a wide variety of dishes. There were pickles, sweet and spicy mountain vegetables, fish, and other Japanese-style dishes, as well as a vegetable salad and a buffet-style selection of rice accompaniments. You could freely refill rice and miso soup. They may be using commercial ingredients, but the fact that the dishes were completely different for the two days was a big plus. Thank you for the meal! In July 2012, I visited the dining area on the first floor of Hotel Sansui by Lake Onneto in Ozora Town. They had a new local specialty menu called "Pork Shabu Nagaimo Don" for 850 yen, which came with clam soup, boiled pond smelt, pickles, and coffee. The dish featured sliced raw nagaimo on top of rice, topped with pork loin in a tangy ponzu sauce. The combination of vinegar and yuzu flavor was surprisingly delicious. The clam soup was made with local Onneto Lake clams and had a simple miso flavor. The service was a bit disappointing, with some mistakes and coffee being served before being asked. The hot springs were spacious with separate male and female baths, indoor and outdoor baths, but the view was not great. The alkaline simple hot spring water was at 40.6°C, pH 8.8, and was continuously pumped from the source with chlorine used. The bath felt refreshing and smooth. The restaurant was open from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm, while day bathing was available from 11 am to 11 pm for 390 yen for ages 12 and above. Children under 12 were 140 yen and under 6 were 70 yen. Overnight stays with two meals were priced from 8200 yen.
