I visited during lunchtime, so the restaurant was almost full. It's a popular place in Asahikawa. The coffee is delicious, but I recommend trying the lunch menu. This time, I had the ginger pork set. It's a must-try for ginger pork fans. The thick pork loin slices are tender and tasty, with a strong ginger flavor that goes well with rice. There are also other unique menu options to enjoy.

A cafe located in Kami-i, Asahikawa City. I visited after a hiatus of two and a half years for lunch. It was around 12:30 pm, so there were quite a few customers, but this place also has a second floor and is spacious, so you can take a relaxing lunch break. During lunchtime from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on weekdays, there are four lunch menu options that come with a drink, which includes coffee, tea, juice, or oolong tea. The price remains the same as ordering the meal alone. Normally, adding these drinks to your order would cost an additional 300 yen, so choosing one of the lunch menu options is a good deal. I ordered the "Escalope" (1,000 yen) with iced coffee as my lunch drink. There seemed to be quite a wait, around 15 minutes. The Escalope consists of buttered rice with chopped bamboo shoots, pork cutlet, and a generous amount of demi-glace sauce on top. The flavorful buttered rice, pork cutlet, and demi-glace sauce make for a delicious combination. The coffee here is an original blend requested from Shoheido. This place offers a wide variety of food and dessert menu options for a cafe. I think it's a great place to relax!

Do you know about Escallop? It's a place I was taken to about 15 years ago. It's a video from when I first started YouTube. Escallop is featured in the video, so please take a look if you're interested: https://youtu.be/ZBVdCcJVlgI It's a local gourmet in Kushiro. Club activity. The name of the restaurant is Aladdin Coffee Club. When you think of Aladdin, you think of the magic lamp. Oh, how I wish I had one... And then, a coffee club, like a club activity. I might have joined if there was one... The menu here is, of course, full of coffee menu items, but there are also quite a few food menu items. And...weekday lunch menu from Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 14:00 Coffee, tea, juice, or oolong tea are complimentary. I looked it up and the prices for the food menu items are not particularly different. It's more like you get a free drink with your meal. But if you order a single drink, it's 480 yen, so it's still a good deal. By the way, Escallop day features 11 different spaghetti dishes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Quite a variety. Among them, there's one called "Japan" that catches my eye. I wonder what it tastes like. Is it a Japanese-style dish? There's a photo of it, but I wonder what it actually tastes like. Dessert. I sometimes feel like having a parfait. Well, not sometimes, maybe once a year. And just a bite or two... When I was a child, I learned about the existence of chocolate parfait and I really wanted to try it. I was so happy when that dream came true. It was shocking when cornflakes came out from the bottom... Pork cutlet curry 980 yen I'm always on the lookout for a pork cutlet curry that's under 1,000 yen. I found one here, so I ordered it. It was a pretty generous serving of pork cutlet curry. By the way, on Thursdays, coffee is included for this price. On other days, if you order a meal, coffee is 480 yen → 300 yen. Oh, the coffee has a nice intensity. It seems like the curry roux was simmered in the store. It had a nice thick consistency. You can tell right away if it's thick or thin. This one had the kind of richness I like. The spiciness wasn't that strong, but the overall flavor was delicious. And there was more than enough rice. Hmm... delicious. With a name like Coffee Club, I wonder if they use coffee as a secret ingredient. The crispy pork cutlet was also delicious. Is it the same as the one on the Escallop? The size was just right. And the presentation of the pork cutlet curry was ideal. By placing the rice, pork cutlet, and curry in that order, the curry spreads evenly. Of course, the curry also covers the bottom of the pork cutlet, so you can enjoy it as pork cutlet curry throughout. Yeah, the flavor, the portion, and the presentation were all good. I enjoyed this pork cutlet curry. Waffle 850 yen with drink This day was a holiday, so I decided to order dessert as well. I didn't go for the parfait, but I had room for it... And the waffle comes with a drink, which is a good deal. It was crispy. I've had both moist and crispy waffles before. This one was more on the crispy side. I prefer this kind. The moist ones tend to dry out in your mouth, so I'm not a big fan. In terms of flavor, it's similar to a pancake, but the texture makes a big difference... It's been a while since I've had one, but it was delicious. So, I enjoyed a club activity lunch on a holiday. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇ It's also a good idea to go for lunch on weekdays ◇

Aladdin Coffee Club. I have loved this place since the previous owner's time and used to visit often. This place holds many memories for me. I haven't had the chance to visit recently since I moved, so it had been a while. I finally had the opportunity to visit when I went to Kamiya. Of course, I ordered the omurice. In the past, the omurice was quite large and I could barely finish it. The omurice after a long time was smaller (laughs). The taste was just like before, very nostalgic and delicious. Next time, I want to try the nostalgic curry. Thank you for the meal!

I don't understand the mindset of paying 1,050 yen for this. This is just my personal opinion. I came to "Aladdin Coffee Club" in Asahikawa. As usual, I am alone because when there are two of us, we go mountain climbing. I arrived later than planned, but I left earlier than expected, so I need to make some money. The memo says the name of the shop is "Aladdin Coffee Club," but it is written as "Escallop." Are you aiming for takeout? I decided to call. "Can I get takeout of Escallop?" "Yes, of course." I said, "Even if I'm late, I will definitely come, so please keep it for me." When I entered, the response was, "We have been waiting for you!" The way she said it was... a light jab, but funny. Well, it might be sarcastic. "Takeout will be 1,050 yen," she said. I thought it would be around 800 yen, so my excitement dropped here. I can't understand why they raise the price for takeout. Even if there are container costs, eating in the restaurant also incurs expenses, so I think the difference is zero. And... if someone sees this and says, "Well, it can't be helped," are there people like that? There are, right? My wife understood that Escallop is expensive, but it doesn't make sense to me. I am writing based on my own values. Butter rice with finely chopped bamboo shoots is delicious... but only if it's 850 yen. The cutlet is so thin that it seems like there is no meat in it. Did they just paint the color on it? On the other hand, the thickness of the breading is more than usual, so that's reassuring. Do I have to call this a cutlet? At least... this is not a pork cutlet. After eating it, my wife said, "The meat in Escallop is thin, that's how it is!" So... this is my value judgment.

This is a café in Kami-iru, Asahikawa City. In my opinion, it's a delicious Western-style restaurant with tasty escalope. It was my favorite place when I lived in Asahikawa, and I used to come here often. I visited Sally no Tomato, my favorite place when I lived in Asahikawa, but it was closed due to the pandemic. So, I went to Hachiya, where I could get takeout, and then I visited Aladdin, which I wanted to go to next. Of course, I had the escalope. The bamboo shoot butter rice had just a few bamboo shoots, but the subtle butter flavor was exquisite. The cutlet was quite thin, but that's what makes it good. The demi-glace sauce, slightly sweet like Hayashi sauce, paired perfectly with the combination. It's not incredibly delicious or has a strong impact, but there's something subtly delicious about the escalope. It's been about 10 years since I last had it, but Aladdin's escalope is still simple yet very delicious! I wish there was a place in Sapporo where you could enjoy delicious escalope too. After having delicious escalope after a long time, thank you for the meal! (*´∀`*)

During a business trip in the city, I had "Chicken Omurice for 820 yen" for lunch. Today, I went on an external assignment to Kamii area with my junior colleague. Due to a small accident, we arrived at the restaurant at 12:16. We had to head to the client's place by 1 pm. And the restaurant was quite crowded (sweat). "Excuse me, we're in a hurry, is it okay?" I asked with a smile. The staff kindly replied, "It's okay." Phew, that was a relief. Without hesitation, I ordered the Chicken Omurice. What about my junior colleague? "I'll have the Omurice too." Sorry for rushing you. We started eating surprisingly 15 minutes later. But you know what? Even with the speedy cooking, the omelette was neatly rolled 360 degrees. (I call this "Saburoku roll" haha) The presentation was perfect without any mess. I took a bite. Mmm, delicious! The ingredients in the Chicken Rice were chicken, onions, and green peppers. The ketchup was just right, not too sticky. It had a classic coffee shop taste that was enjoyable with the omelette. I happily continued eating. How's the taste, junior colleague? "It's delicious." Phew, that's good. We left at 12:58. It was a satisfying 40 minutes with excellent service and taste. They have a wide variety of menu items here. Next time, I want to visit leisurely with a coffee after the meal.

It has a charming atmosphere with a seasoned feel. Finally tried something I've been curious about for a while. The last time I had it was a long time ago, maybe in the employee cafeteria? [Escalope] for 950 yen. Everyone seems to be enjoying it, right? It's not something you usually find at your go-to lunch spot, so I definitely wanted to try it on my first visit. The interior of the restaurant has a nostalgic Showa-era coffee shop vibe. The escalope cutlet is thin, just the way it should be. The breadcrumbs cling perfectly and the demi-glace sauce is generously coated. The butter rice has finely chopped bamboo shoots just like it should. The slight seasoning adds a nice touch, balancing well with the sauce. It's delicious. Sometimes, eating it with fresh vegetables makes it even more delicious. The rich demi-glace sauce on the escalope... I want to eat it again. Delicious!

A well-established café in Asahikawa City, with a striking triangular roof in Kamii. The lunch menu is extensive, so it's quite crowded during lunchtime. The spacious and retro interior creates a calm atmosphere with soothing music playing in the background. I had a late lunch and was torn between the many menu options. I found an interesting dish - "Upside-down Omurice" (820 yen including tax) and ordered a "Blend Coffee" (450 yen for just the coffee, 250 yen if ordered with a meal) for after the meal. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The omurice had the rice on the outside, crispy and fragrant, with scrambled eggs and cheese inside. The ketchup was neatly decorated on top. The combination of the crispy rice and the creamy eggs and cheese was delicious. It was my first time trying this texture, and it was really good. The dish also came with a side salad of cucumber, cabbage, and tomato, as well as miso soup. The blend coffee, made mainly from Brazilian beans, had a strong aroma and a slight bitterness. The restaurant is known for offering a wide variety of menu options, including the local specialty from Nemuro City, "Escalope," which is not commonly found in Asahikawa.

Visit date March 12th (Tuesday) Today I am working in the Kamikyo area. Asahikawa has finally escaped the sub-zero temperatures during the day, but it still feels like spring is a long way off. The on-site office is quite cold, so I quickly put on a hokkairo (hand warmer). Work is progressing smoothly, and now it's time for lunch. I decided to visit this place that I had bookmarked before. I arrived just before 1:00 PM, and the surrounding area is a residential neighborhood, so it was a bit difficult to find even with the navigation system. I quickly placed my order... Escalope. It seems to be a local dish from Nemuro. It arrived in about 15 minutes. Oh, so this is escalope! A thin tonkatsu on top of butter rice with demiglace sauce. What is the white thing on the plate? The plate seemed large, but the portion felt a bit small, yet it was satisfying enough! It was my first time trying escalope, and it was delicious. I enjoyed a relaxing lunch with a cup of coffee afterwards. Another delicious lunch today. Thank you for the meal.

A cafe where you can enjoy all menu items from 9:30 am, perfect for breakfast! They also offer a daily lunch set so you won't get bored. They have a wide variety of magazines to relax and pass the time. The menu has plenty of options at reasonable prices, making it a great value. The shrimp pilaf exceeded expectations with a delicious flavor and the addition of mountain vegetables. The Fukujinzuke served as an accent and was very tasty. The miso soup was also delicious. I was completely satisfied from the morning! Thank you for the meal!

The seafood spaghetti was delicious with plenty of clams and small shrimp in a tomato sauce with a strong hint of acidity. The atmosphere of the place is charming and has a nostalgic feel to it. The coffee served was a bit weak, but the coffee cup and saucer had a cute logo. The background music in the cafe was jazz, creating a relaxed and leisurely atmosphere. It was a lovely cafe to spend some time in.

Looking for thick fluffy toast journey "Aladdin Coffee Club" Usually a die-hard fan of Japanese cuisine. Especially in the morning and evening, I can't do without rice and miso soup. So, eating bread as a meal is only a few days a year (although I do eat it as a snack). However, there are days when I suddenly crave bread. This time, what I wanted to eat was thick slices of toast. When I searched for "thick toast Asahikawa" on the internet, I couldn't find any relevant shops. So, I posted on Facebook, and was recommended to try "Aladdin Coffee Club". I immediately drove there. I used to work for a company in this area, so I was aware of the shop's existence, but it was my first visit. As someone who doesn't drink much coffee and doesn't smoke, this is not the type of place I usually go to. Toast (with egg) for 530 yen, plus tea for an additional 200 yen, totaling 730 yen. Compared to morning sets at other shops, it's a bit on the pricier side. The toast I wanted was thick and fluffy, just as I had imagined. It would have been even better if it came with delicious jam or marmalade. And if they had a mini salad as well, that would have been nice. I'm now curious if there are other shops serving thick toast, so I might go on a cafe-hopping adventure (laughs).

Last time I visited was 6 years ago. It's been a really long time. The reviews are too old, so I decided to do a complete revision. By the way, last time I had the "upside-down omelette rice". It was featured on TV, so I tried it out. I'm quite a trend follower, but in reality, the rice part felt like it had burnt bits and was not very enjoyable. Even though stone pot bibimbap is the norm now, I actually prefer bibimbap without the stone pot. This time, it was still only 10:30, so I decided to have an early lunch, basically a brunch. Until 11:00, they serve breakfast. From 11:00, it's lunchtime. Of course, you can still order from the regular menu, but I think it's a bit pricey, so I recommend going during lunchtime. During lunchtime, the prices are the same (the menu changes depending on the day of the week) and it comes with a drink like coffee or tea, so that's a better deal. Now, I was quite hungry, so I went for the curry which is the most filling option. After a short wait, the curry arrived, a small pork curry commonly found in cafes. It had a lot of onions and the sweetness of the vegetables blended well in this excellent curry. The coffee was a blend from Showa Coffee. It had a good balance of bitterness, acidity, and sweetness, and was deliciously rich. Hmm, they have a wide selection of food, but like I mentioned earlier, it's a bit on the pricey side. The ample seating and the 9:00-21:00 opening hours are convenient, but that's something to think about.

◆Asahikawa Aladdin Coffee Club "Escalope"◆The other day, I visited this place for lunch. It's Aladdin Coffee Club in Kamui, Asahikawa City. The building looks like it's been around for a while, but it seems like the name changed midway through (around 2002). I chose the Escalope for lunch, priced at 950 yen. What is Escalope, you ask? It sounds like a nutritional drink (from Wikipedia) but Escalope is a dish where pork cutlet is sautéed and placed on ketchup rice with demi-glace sauce poured over it. It's a local dish from Nemuro City in Hokkaido, sometimes abbreviated as "Esca". Since it's a dish from Nemuro, most Hokkaido residents may not be familiar with it, I suppose. I happened to try it when I visited Nemuro for work, so I know about it. Nemuro is about 200 km away in a straight line from Asahikawa, which is like the distance between Tokyo Station and Kakegawa Station in Shizuoka or Echigo-Yuzawa Station in Niigata, so it's natural for the food culture to be completely different. This is the Escalope. The taste is as expected, matching the appearance. Well, it shouldn't taste bad, right? It comes with delicious coffee, all for 950 yen, so it's reasonably priced. It's not a taste that makes me want to eat it again and again, but if you get the chance, definitely give it a try!
