I didn't go to the store, but I ate it as a gift. It's a lovely Japanese sweet. I had a white rabbit! It's white bean paste wrapped in sticky rice cake. It was very soft and delicious. I felt the sweetness was strong, but I'm not used to eating Japanese sweets, so I don't know how it compares to the average... I'm sorry!

I feel like they are sold at supermarkets in the Okhotsk area. I didn't know there was a store here until I saw the name. Since I came all the way to Tsunai, I decided to stop by. There are various baked goods. I can't eat a lot, so I carefully selected three: anko donut, hexagonal baked cake, and imo (sweet potato). Imo? It seems like sweet potatoes. Each costs 100 yen, which is a reasonable price. I tried the anko donut and hexagonal baked cake. Amazing anko! I really liked both of them. The thin skin of the hexagonal baked cake was exquisite. I will visit again.

I went to Uzenya Kashihonpo! It's a confectionery shop in Tsugai. The shop is beautiful, but you can still feel its history. I bought a dorayaki for 150 yen and a donut for 100 yen. The dorayaki had a strong, intense red bean paste filling, very dark and sweet, giving off a nostalgic vibe. The donut had a red bean paste filling with a nice texture, packed full of red beans. The kind old lady provided very polite service. Local confectionery shops like this really make a difference. I hope they continue to thrive. Thank you for the meal!

It was a work trip to Tsukibe, but I won't be able to come back for a while, so I decided to stop by the Michi-no-Eki to buy some tofu. The soba shop is closed, so I bought some take-out soba noodles, but I've bought them a few times before and they were always undercooked. I couldn't complain because Yome-san would say, "Then try cooking it yourself," and I would be stuck. So, I bought some tofu and fried tofu, and I saw a new kind of yokan that I had never seen before. I thought I had explored all of Tsukibe, but there it was, "Uramoto-ya." I couldn't finish a whole yokan by myself, so I decided to stop by the store on my way back. I put it in the GPS and found it. The cute little confectionery shop didn't have daifuku or cream puffs, so I bought sakuramochi and dorayaki. The sakuramochi was small and the leaf was quite soaked. It's understandable given that it's February in Hokkaido, but the dough had no texture, it just melted. The anko (red bean paste) was smooth, but a bit watery. The dorayaki had a dry texture, similar to the dorayaki I used to dislike. It was also a bit stiff. I don't like dorayaki or stiff textures, so the sweet anko didn't help. It was a rare occasion where I didn't enjoy the sweets.
