I stayed in Rumoi and looked for a restaurant. I had eaten enough fish, so I was looking for a Western-style restaurant and found this one, so I visited. First, I toasted with a beer. I had been cycling nearly 140km under the clear sky on that day, so the beer really hit the spot. Beer tastes good whether you drink it in the city or in the countryside, as long as the server is maintained. Looking at the menu, there were tapas-like dishes. There were pizzas and pastas, but hardly any main dishes. For starters, I was served cucumber with sesame oil, jellyfish and pickled vegetables, and garlic butter-grilled scallops. They were okay. Good snacks to have with beer. I like salads, so I ordered a Caesar salad. Um, it looked like a salad made by a middle school student who had hardly cooked before. It seemed like they just poured store-bought dressing over it. The salad mainly consisted of mizuna leaves, and I wondered if it could really be called a Caesar salad. By the way, the portion size was quite large. Caprese. Again, the appearance could have been better. The mozzarella cheese tasted like cheap supermarket cheese, but the tomatoes were delicious. I think they were just bought from somewhere nearby, but they were quite tasty. Truly Hokkaido quality. Sausage assortment. It was also a pre-made product, but it was simply delicious. There were herb sausages and chorizo, so I was satisfied to some extent. Feeling a bit guilty for ordering only dishes that didn't require much cooking, I decided to go for the Quattro Formaggio pizza. The honey served on the side was also the typical supermarket kind, which wasn't ideal, but it was still tasty. The blue cheese was generously sprinkled on top, giving it a rich flavor. Yes, this was good. The portion sizes were large, so I was full after this. Three beers and four dishes cost around 6000 yen. Well, that's about it. The sense of presentation was lacking, and the dishes felt like homemade food, but considering the price, it wasn't too bad. It may not be a restaurant that travelers would go out of their way to visit, but it seems convenient for locals. I felt like ordering a pizza or pasta here would be a good choice. The ingredients are all things you can buy at the supermarket, but the cooking itself wasn't bad. Upstairs, there were girls having a birthday party. The owner seemed to have handmade the cake, which made me realize that this place is also popular among locals for such occasions. Thank you for the meal.
