I made a reservation for a kaiseki cuisine meal to treat myself. It's a private room kaiseki restaurant with a great view, and I had high expectations for the amazing scenery. The view from the room was indeed wonderful, and I was lucky that the weather was nice too. However, I arrived late due to the Sapporo Marathon overlapping with my visit, which was a downside. The course was decent, although I'm not sure about the drink charges. I opted for the free-flow soft drink course and ordered a beer without hesitation. The dishes were meticulously prepared and beautifully presented, as expected from kaiseki cuisine. Some dish names were a bit difficult to read in kanji, and I wished I had someone who knew kanji to accompany me. The flavors were fantastic, with a strong umami from the dashi, and the sashimi was fresh and vibrant. The finale of sea bream kamameshi rice was a delight to watch being cooked and served. The aroma of freshly cooked rice was amazing, and it was satisfying to see it being prepared right outside the room. The attentive servers made sure to portion and serve it beautifully. Despite not eating much, the meal was enjoyed by my companions, and I regret not trying more. The restaurant has a time limit due to being a private room, but the view, service, and food were all exceptional. I wish I had eaten more. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited for the first time on January 31, 2019 during my stay at Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo for breakfast. The buffet on the first floor opens at 6 am, but the Japanese breakfast here starts at 7:30 am. Since most inbound guests go to the first floor, the Japanese restaurant was very quiet. The restaurant is located on the 22nd floor, the top floor of the hotel, and you can see Hokkaido University from the window. You can choose from white rice, mixed grain rice, or porridge for the set meal, and I chose white rice. The rice was delicious and the presentation was beautiful, so I enjoyed a tasty breakfast. Thank you for the meal.

The lunch gathering at the exclusive private room at Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo's Miyama, with a stunning view of the clear blue sky and cityscape of Sapporo, was a delightful experience. The ambiance and comfort of the space were excellent. The scenery of Sapporo from here was truly magnificent. It was a rare occasion where I attended an off-meeting without drinking alcohol. The atmosphere, service, and food provided a memorable and heartwarming experience. The menu included a variety of dishes such as sashimi, chilled tofu, grilled eggplant with sesame miso, and more. The presentation, taste, and overall quality of the lunch were impressive. I enjoyed a relaxing and elegant off-meeting at Miyama, a reservation-only private room Japanese restaurant. Overall rating 4.0, taste 3.4, service 3.7, atmosphere 4.5, value for money 3.5, drinks 3.0. Address: 7-2-1 Kita 5 Jo Nishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo 22F. Reservation-only private room Japanese restaurant Miyama ☆☆☆ Next episode preview: It was a wonderful Japanese restaurant with a subtle and elegant charm.

I used this restaurant at the end of the year. My father-in-law chose it and treated us to a kaiseki meal. It started at 7:00 and we enjoyed the meal served in a polite and orderly manner. I had a Sapporo Classic beer, which really gave me the feeling of being in Sapporo. The meal mainly consisted of fish dishes like blowfish and was delicious with sufficient portion sizes. The only disappointing thing was that around 9:30, the lights were dimmed as if to hint that it was time to leave (although the lights were still on in the rooms with customers). I'm not sure if it was because it was the end of the year, if they had a bad experience with lingering customers, or if it was for eco-friendly reasons. If the closing time is 10:00, they should at least dim the lights around 9:50 or politely inform the customers. After all, it's a restaurant inside Keio Hotel. It feels like the restaurant's unfriendly attitude is showing through... Anyway, I still think it's a good restaurant. I rated it 3.5 stars.

I participated in a lunch gathering on July 24, 2018. It took place at Miyama-san, located on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo near Sapporo Station, with 7 people in attendance. There were 3 first-time meetings, 2 people I had met last week, and 1 person I hadn't seen in a year. We chose the weekday-only Hisago Plan, which costs ¥3000 including room charge, tax, and service charge. As someone who usually only thinks of ramen, curry, soba, and set meals, I wouldn't have experienced this lunch if I hadn't been invited. The room faced north, offering a view of Hokkaido University campus below. We were first asked by a waitress in a kimono about our initial and post-meal drink preferences. When it came to post-meal drinks, some chose iced coffee while others opted for hot coffee. The meal was served in a gourd-shaped container, adding excitement to the dining experience. The meal consisted of rice, soup, pickles, and sashimi. Topped with cod roe and garnished with radish sprouts, the rice was a delightful dish. The cold tofu with plum sauce was surprisingly delicious, as I had avoided cold tofu since childhood due to a bad experience. The chicken and shredded burdock salad was elegantly seasoned and very tasty. The egg omelette was a must-have, moist and perfectly seasoned. The pork and vegetable stew showcased how well pork and vegetables complement each other. The conversation throughout the lunch was enjoyable, making it a delightful gathering. Non-alcoholic gatherings are also enjoyable! The waitress efficiently served the post-meal drinks without needing to ask who ordered what, showing great attention to detail. The meal ended with a gift from one of the attendees, and I expressed my gratitude. Overall, it was a delicious meal. Thank you! Lunch gatherings are great too! Thank you for the meal!

I forgot what dish it was since it's been a while... I think it was a lunch course around 3000-3500 yen. There was a man in a jacket at the entrance, and when I told him my reservation name, I was guided to a semi-private room. The service staff were all wearing kimonos. I was surprised by the table setup - there were no trays or tablecloths, and all the dishes were placed directly on the table. It was the first time I've seen a restaurant serve a course meal with dishes placed directly on the table. The food was average from start to finish. There were no particular surprises in terms of taste, cooking methods, presentation, or appearance. Oh, the dessert dish was beautiful though. Coffee or tea was included after the meal, which was a nice touch. I don't think I'll visit again.

In June 2017, we visited a Japanese restaurant on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Sapporo. We chose a private room plan with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option for 6 people. The private room plan is available for groups of 4 or more, with options priced at 10,000 yen, 12,000 yen, and 15,000 yen including the room fee and all-you-can-drink. We opted for the 15,000 yen plan. The room had a large window offering a beautiful view of Sapporo, especially with the lovely sunset that evening. The dishes were beautifully presented with seasonal ingredients, and tasted delicious. The service was reliable and the food was great, making it suitable for both business and private gatherings. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I visited the Miyama lunch at Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo. I made a reservation and visited on a weekday. I chose the Seasonal Taste Set Meal (including tax and service charge for 2000 yen). [Appetizer] Simmered saury Chawanmushi with green onions Two kinds of red leaf fu sashimi Various seasoned mushrooms Simmered turnips Sudare fu with hijiki [Deep-fried dish] Yurine and Maru Ju tempura eggplant Ingen beans [Main dish] Mushroom rice [Soup] [Pickles] [Dessert] Matcha soy milk pudding Persimmon honeyed [Coffee or tea] I enjoy Japanese cuisine because I can enjoy the colors of the dishes and the tableware. I enjoyed the meal with autumn ingredients, feeling the change of seasons. Even though I'm not a fan of soy milk, I found the matcha soy milk pudding delicious. The teacups were lovely. From the window-side table, you can enjoy views of places like Hokkaido University. Being on the 22nd floor, you can see far into the distance. It was a bit empty that day, giving off a somewhat lonely atmosphere, but I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. I would love to visit again for a special occasion when I want to enjoy Japanese cuisine.

Sapporo, Sapporo Station South Exit area. "Miyama", a Japanese restaurant on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel. The view is great. You can overlook the JR station platform from the window, and it's fun to see the trains coming and going. I used it for lunch at "Japanese Restaurant Miyama". If you choose a private room, there is an additional "private room fee" (around 2000 yen for a 2-hour meal), but this time I opted for the 5000 yen kaiseki course which includes the private room fee. - Appetizer: Mozuku seaweed and sea urchin chawanmushi. It was accompanied by snow crab and trefoil. The refreshing flavor of ginger was delightful. - Soup: Two-colored tofu. The light green tofu and egg tofu were combined, creating a beautiful presentation. The white fish kuzu dumpling had a soft and tender texture. The dashi broth was delicious. The fried item in the back was called "teji-fu", a type of wheat gluten. It absorbed the delicious broth and had a satisfying texture. - Sashimi: Assorted sashimi of tuna and flounder. Both the tuna and flounder had been aged perfectly, bringing out their flavors. The flounder had a refreshing citrus aroma, adding a nice touch. - Hassun: Assorted appetizers. Includes simmered sea bream, bamboo shoot sushi, sakura shrimp tempura, and fava beans. The bamboo shoot sushi had a crunchy texture that was delightful. - Nimono (Simmered dish): Herring and eggplant, rolled fish cake, and cherry blossom gluten. The herring was cooked tenderly and had a delicious broth. It had an elegant aroma and a subtle flavor. - Rice dish: Tai (sea bream) kamameshi. The tai fish head was impressive! The rice had a nice crispy texture. The fish was deboned, making it easy to eat. It was so good that you might want to turn it into tai chazuke at the end. - Dessert: Chilled yurine (lily root) sweet red bean soup. Lily root is a favorite of mine, but I had never had it served this way before. It had sweet red beans on top and white dumplings inside. The service here is also excellent. The kimono-clad waitstaff provided impeccable service. The veteran gentleman who greeted us in front of the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. The sake selection was extensive, and the cold sake glasses looked very appealing. The lunch menu starts from around 2000 yen, so I would definitely like to visit again.

Miyama, a Japanese restaurant on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel. This time, it was used for a celebration. The restaurant offers various plans for different occasions, and we chose a private room with a sunken kotatsu style seating. The view from the large windows during the day is breathtaking, with the blue sky and sunlight creating a refreshing atmosphere. We chose the Hoorai Daikokuji Plan (April), which included a variety of delicately prepared dishes with a subtle flavor profile. The dashi (broth) used in the dishes was exceptional and added a unique touch to each dish. The highlight was the Tai Kamameshi rice dish, which was both seasonal and celebratory. The staff at Miyama were attentive and knowledgeable, promptly addressing any questions or special requests. They even entertained a child in our group with handmade paper toys, showing their professionalism and warmth. Miyama is a reliable choice for any special occasion, offering a sense of comfort and high-quality Japanese cuisine.

After a memorial service, we went to Miyama, a kaiseki restaurant near Sapporo Station on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel. The private room had a great view overlooking the Sapporo area, but unfortunately, there was a blizzard outside, so we couldn't see much. I've been to Keio Plaza Hotel before for a friend's wedding, and that day also had a blizzard which caused flight cancellations. It seems like Keio Plaza Hotel and bad weather have a connection (laughs). Now, onto the kaiseki course. It started with a small appetizer, followed by beautifully arranged dishes one after another. The crab was delicious. Since it was a private room, we could relax and enjoy our time. The selection of Japanese sake wasn't extensive, but North's Victory from Nemuro is a must-try. It's a local sake. My mother-in-law was interested in Dassai, so we also tried that. It seems like Dassai is becoming more popular lately. The food itself wasn't particularly outstanding, but we had a relaxing time. I hope to visit Keio Plaza Hotel on a sunny day next time (laughs).

◆◆◆◆◆◆ 【Second Post】 ◆◆◆◆◆◆ 【December 2014】 Due to heavy snow, the roads were congested. When I called the restaurant midway, they said it would be impossible to have a kaiseki or small kaiseki meal if we arrived at the last order time of 2:30. Luckily, we made it just in time. The restaurant's lunch service ends at 3:00. When we entered the restaurant, we were informed that they were closing at 3:00. We were seated at the same table as our previous visit. However, this time, due to the snow, we could only see snow from the 22nd floor view. (Tears) Since time was limited, both of us ordered the "Monthly Enjoyment Meal - Seasonal Tasting Meal" from the waitress in traditional Japanese attire. For drinks after the meal, we chose hot coffee. After a 6-minute wait, the dishes arrived. ■ Monthly Enjoyment Meal - Seasonal Tasting Meal Sashimi Platter Shrimp, Squid, Radish, Perilla, Wasabi Grilled Salmon with Nameko Mushroom and Grated Daikon Poetic Dish Grilled Cheese Chicken Simmered Dish with Shinoda Roll, Broccoli, Fresh Gluten, Pumpkin Chawanmushi with An Sauce Topped with Lily Root and Rice Cake Pickled Vegetables, Perilla Pickles Miso Soup with Mitsuba, Gluten, and Tororo Kelp Rice with Carrot and Wheat Gluten Sukiyaki-style Rice with Carrot and Wheat Gluten Fluffy Egg Sweet Red Bean Porridge Slightly Sweet Dessert Hot Coffee Price: 2000 yen (including 8% consumption tax and 10% service charge) The dishes provided a sense of security. The only disappointment was the lack of time. The nice hotel man who greeted us on our previous visit was not there this time. I would be happy to see him on my next visit. ◆◆◆◆◆◆ 【First Post】 ◆◆◆◆◆◆ The cost-performance of the weekday limited "Weekly Meal" is outstanding. At Miyama, you can experience high-quality time with art!! 【December 2011】 "Miyama" is a Japanese restaurant located on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo. This was my first visit. The restaurant is located along North 5th Street in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, at Nishi 7-chome. For the exact location of the restaurant, please check on Tabelog. Keio Plaza Sapporo has been coming to eat mapo tofu at Nanen, the Chinese restaurant, this year. I haven't been coming as often in recent years. Every autumn, I receive a letter from a foreign department store, and if I apply quickly, I can reserve sets of Christmas hors d'oeuvres and cakes, which the hotel staff will deliver to my home on Christmas. (If you apply quickly, you can also receive a 2500 yen hotel wine as a service) It was a very convenient hotel as it only required a phone call. I had been curious about the weekly meal at Miyama. Limited to 10 meals a day on weekdays. I finally got to try it. The restaurant opens at 11:00, but the menu is sold out by 11:30. It may be available until around 12:00. I called the restaurant several times, but it was sold out each time. When I called around 11:00 to make a reservation, I was told it should be fine. When I called around 12:00, I was told it should be fine. I made a reservation for two people. I arrived at the restaurant with my usual companion around 1:30 on a weekday. A veteran hotel man welcomed us. "Thank you for coming earlier than scheduled." He was very friendly. This person made the time very enjoyable. When I handed over my coat, he asked, "Do you have any valuables?" I replied, "I have no valuables, so please keep it." He then called a female staff member and said, "Please keep valuables in this customer's coat." The female staff member also responded with a smile. We were seated at the reserved table. You could see the northern side of Sapporo. I ordered coffee after the meal. The weekly meal arrived in 5 minutes. ■ Weekly Meal Limited to 10 servings on weekdays Yoro-style Arrangement Finely chopped nagaimo (Chinese yam) arrangement Pork Sukiyaki Very lightly seasoned and nice Yellowtail Teriyaki Average class Fried Burdock Salad Crispy burdock with a very pleasant texture Rolled Omelette with Grated Daikon and Nameko Mushroom, reminiscent of hotel taste Mini Tempura Bowl With Perilla, etc.

It's been a while since I visited "Miyama". The course menu featured fugu dishes. The appetizers were fugu with vinegar miso dressing and simmered fugu, both with elegant flavors. Next, we had thinly sliced fugu sashimi with condiments, served individually. I wished it was served on a large plate for sharing. Then we enjoyed fugu steamed buns with rich filling, followed by fugu chawanmushi filled with savory flavors. The fugu tempura was served with an unidentified condiment. The fugu hot pot was served by the waitress, portioned individually. The fugu porridge was the highlight of the meal. Lastly, we had yurine shiruko for dessert, though I forgot to take a picture. Overall, the meal had an elegant and refined feel.

Miyama is a Japanese restaurant located in Keio Plaza. It's a casual place that I've visited numerous times. The seating is just right, not too close to the neighboring tables. During lunch, it can get quite busy and has a quick turnover vibe. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is lively. In the evenings, it's more serene and peaceful. The dishes are lightly seasoned and easy to enjoy. They use lovely tableware which adds to the experience.

For our child's first meal ceremony, we invited both sets of parents to a meal together. We dined in a spacious Japanese-style room with a great view, which was wonderful. For the child, we ordered the "First Meal Set" (5800 yen), and for the adults, we used the lunch celebration private room plan. The First Meal Set came in small trays designed for the ceremony, each dish was small and cute, and all were beautifully made. The grilled dish with the head of the sea bream was about 30 centimeters long, with the meat cut into bite-sized pieces, making it very convenient for the ceremony. It may be that grilling the whole fish would make the meat dry, so this method was perfect for feeding the baby without the meat falling apart. The adult set had two options, a 5000 yen course and a 7000 yen course, and we chose the 5000 yen course on the day. It was a typical Japanese multi-course meal with about 8 dishes. It was enough for lunch. This plan includes a complimentary sparkling wine for a toast and all-you-can-drink soft drinks. Considering the location and service, 5000 yen seemed reasonable. The service was excellent. I was wearing a kimono and couldn't breastfeed, so I had to feed milk to my baby during the meal. When I asked for hot water, they even brought an ice bucket to cool down the milk. Truly reliable service from a hotel. On the day, we visited Hokkaido Shrine for the baby's shrine visit, and then had the meal ceremony at lunchtime. However, due to snow and bad road conditions, there was heavy traffic, and it took us 30 minutes by car from the shrine to Keio Plaza, which would usually take only 10 minutes. In winter, the roads tend to get congested, so it's recommended to make reservations with plenty of time in advance. But from spring to autumn, having a meal after visiting the shrine is highly recommended due to the location and other factors.

I stayed at my parents' house in Sapporo for about a week, and it was quite busy with my husband joining in for a trip in between, and time flew by quickly. Tomorrow, I will be heading back home... On the day before that, my mother suddenly said, "Since it's the last day, I want to eat Japanese food somewhere," (come to think of it, she said the same thing last time in June), so I hurriedly searched for a Japanese restaurant with private rooms. Since there was no PC in Sapporo and no gourmet magazines, I had to rely on my memory and made a reservation at a hotel that seemed to have good reviews. The private room fee was 2310 yen, which I thought was expensive, but since I wanted to relax while eating, I had no choice. It was on the 22nd floor of Keio Plaza Hotel near Sapporo Station, and the view was good. When we entered, there were hardly any customers at the table seats, so I thought maybe we didn't need a private room after all... The Japanese-style room was quite spacious for two people, but it was not a sunken kotatsu style, so my legs were starting to feel numb... Since it was a hotel, the menu was detailed, and it was stated that separate orders for two people were okay. We ordered the "Taste of the North" for 10,000 yen and the "Miyama" for 8,000 yen (including tax and service charge). [Taste of the North]... A's Photo 1. Appetizer... Boat-shaped kombu assortment, simmered yuba, sea urchin with the scent of the sea, full of flavors from Hokkaido, and there was also luxurious sea urchin on top. 2. Soup... Botan oil child Yoshino pounding, wood buds It didn't have a smooth texture and the oiliness could have been a bit more... 3. Sashimi As expected, the sashimi was delicious and beautifully arranged. 4. Grilled dishes... Lily bulb tamashime, new kazunoko... It didn't seem like it was marinated in dashi soy sauce, but had its original texture and taste. I think I had it for the first time. - Grilled Hokkaido beef with salt... Mountain wasabi I have memories of going to the mountains to pick mountain wasabi when I was a child, and I think it was around the time of the spring thaw. Compared to regular wasabi, mountain wasabi is quite spicy, but when grated and put on rice, it has a delicious taste that you can eat as much as you want. It was nostalgic~ - Grilled king crab shell 5. Simmered dish... Steamed kinki fish Kinki was small, which was disappointing. 6. Side dish... Tofu skin tempura, delicious miso 7. Crab cooked rice in a soup bowl I love crab, but the taste was too refined, which was a bit disappointing. 8. Dessert [Miyama] 1. Appetizer... Tofu skin tempura, beef roll with eight flavors, soaked radish, dried kamasu fish Four dishes are served in a vessel that looks like something you would see at a ryokan, but the dishes themselves were quite ordinary. 2. Soup... Crab shinjo It was fluffy, but didn't have much crab flavor. 3. Sashimi 4. Grilled dish... Grilled eggplant with shijimi clams, shrimp, lotus root, shiitake mushrooms, grilled sauce The grilled sauce was like a sweet and savory miso sauce. 5. Main dish... Grilled conger eel, lily bulb, yuba wrap, mushroom sauce Is this the main dish...? It felt like a home-cooked meal. 6. Side dish... Flounder, scallop, Mizuna salad Was this just placed on top...? 7. Meal... Manpuku-ji jyako rice, soup bowl, pickles 8. Dessert... Warabi mochi, fruits The prices include tax and service charge, so I think the content was average, but other than the sashimi, there was nothing particularly delicious, and it was just a regular hotel Japanese meal.
