I heard that a new restaurant opened after the closure of a diner in Kawakita, so I went there right away. I parked my car in the parking lot next to the store and entered the interior. The inside of the store was dimly lit and there was no sign of people. I sat at the counter on the left and looked at the menu. .... There were no regular miso, salt, soy sauce, or ramen. After sitting for a while, a young woman came out from the back. I asked her, "Do you have regular ramen?" and she replied, "The vegetable ramen is the closest to regular ramen." So, there is no regular ramen. I reluctantly ordered the "Shrimp Ankake Ramen". After taking my order, she went back to the kitchen. The space behind the counter was not a kitchen. When I think of Kawakita, I think of salmon flakes. I was planning to eat salmon flake ramen. After waiting for 10 minutes... it's taking quite a while. The "Shrimp Ankake Ramen" arrived. The transparent soup had shrimp, squid, Chinese cabbage, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions on top. Hmm. Where is the sauce? First, I took a sip of the soup... What? What flavor? Almost no saltiness. No umami. Huh?... There it is! Under the green onions. I found about two ladles of sauce in the center of the bowl. Is this supposed to be ankake? If I had mixed it, I would never have known. The noodles were thin and in small quantity. ... I'm starting to not care. And all this for 950 yen? Goodbye.
