At the lodging in Rausu, known as the "Eagle Inn," you can observe the rare Shimafukuro owl, of which there are only 140 in Hokkaido. The rooms are simple, with traditional Japanese-style bedding for two, and guests are responsible for setting up and putting away their own bedding. The shared bathroom facilities are also simple. The rate for one adult, including dinner and breakfast, is 15,000 yen, with a 50% discount for elementary school students and free for toddlers. Speaking of dinner, it was surprisingly luxurious! We were served a whole crab for two people, and even the children got their own portion. In addition to that, we enjoyed other delicious dishes, including the famous local delicacy, Kin-ki fish, which was rich and tasty. We also had plenty of delicious turban shells, which I love. Overall, it was a great deal, especially considering the discounts for children and toddlers.

Breakfast at the inn in Rausu. It's simple and homey, but quite a lot compared to just having bread usually. Even the children get the same amount. Of course, it's too much to finish. The only Rausu-like items are grilled salmon with salt and kelp. There was a large watermelon included.
