Located in the comprehensive park "Date Rekishi no Mori," which encompasses various facilities such as the Michi-no-Eki Date Rekishi no Mori, the Date Historical and Cultural Museum, and a comprehensive sports center. This facility promotes food education by offering school lunches provided to local elementary and junior high schools at a reasonable price for both residents and non-residents. Date City is surrounded by Mount Usu and the Uchiura Bay, boasting a top-class nationwide shipment of vegetables, making it a treasure trove of ingredients. The meal I ordered on this day was meticulously prepared and presented with a balanced mix, emphasizing the importance of food.

So, I went there but it's just a regular set meal restaurant. If you go at the wrong time, there's almost nothing to eat.

The "Date History Forest Food Education Center," which opened in January this year, provides meals to 14 elementary and junior high schools in Date City and three elementary and junior high schools in Sobetsu Town. It is also designed to serve as a cooking base during disasters, making it a fantastic facility. Adjacent to this center is the food education restaurant "E Spoon," which I visited to try the meals provided there. The menu at the time included a school lunch-style curry and a demi-style pork chop set meal, as well as three types of deep-fried bread. The "school lunch-style curry" was a sweet curry suitable for children, with a nostalgic taste that was delicious. The pork chop set meal was a bit bland, but it seemed to be healthier with less salt and chemical seasonings. Both dishes mentioned the use of "golden pork," which is sourced from a local butcher called "Ooya Meat." This supports the local economy and ensures safe and delicious food. Thank you, E Spoon, for the wonderful meal.
