"Located along the Dotonbori River in Nipponbashi, Osaka, is the popular Chinese restaurant "Sangokutei." Among the many Chinese restaurants in Minami, this longstanding eatery stands out as one of the best. The unassuming entrance leads to a cozy interior with an L-shaped counter at the back and a small table up front, seating around 10 people when full. Despite its small size, the restaurant exudes an elegant and tranquil atmosphere, unlike typical casual Chinese eateries. While many small Chinese restaurants may have just one chef in the kitchen, Sangokutei's open kitchen features several staff members working efficiently, creating a bustling and professional environment. We tried dishes like the crispy and delicious "gyoza" for 500 yen, the unique "shrimp and kiwi mayo stir-fry" for 1,600 yen, "spring rolls" for 1,400 yen, "garlic chive stir-fry" for 1,400 yen, and "yakisoba" for 950 yen. Each dish exceeded our expectations, especially the gyoza and the shrimp mayo with a hint of kiwi. It's a shame that this restaurant is so hard to get a reservation at, as it would be perfect for enjoying a beer and gyoza on a whim. Overall, everything we tried was incredibly delicious!"

The juicy pan-fried dumplings, shrimp in chili sauce, and yakisoba were incredibly delicious. We sat at the counter with two adults, and the distance between seats was okay. We ate a lot and the bill came out to be less than 10,000 yen.

Located on the outskirts of Dotonbori, this Chinese restaurant has a subtle sign at the entrance, making it hard to tell what kind of place it is from the outside. Inside, it is a small shop with mainly counter seating, and only one table. You can see the chefs cooking from the counter, and the energy is fantastic. The staff are all lovely. The total bill for shrimp fried rice, pickled vegetables, dumplings, and draft beer was 2500 yen, which is not expensive. The shrimp fried rice was delicious, but the dumplings were especially amazing! Truly a highly-rated restaurant. I will definitely go back if I'm in the Namba area again!

In 2021 and 2023, I visited a very popular Chinese restaurant in Nakanoshima, Chinatown! I went on a Sunday night and was able to get in smoothly with only about 3 groups ahead of us. - Gomoku soup soba 950 yen - Ebi fried rice 950 yen - Gyoza 500 yen The gomoku soup soba had plenty of vegetables and seafood in a flavorful soup with thin noodles. The soup had a rich flavor with a hint of pepper that made me want to drink it all up. The ebi fried rice was moist and fluffy, with a deliciously rich seasoning. It was one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had. The addition of cucumbers added a refreshing touch. The gyoza is the most popular menu item at this restaurant! The crispy skin was cooked perfectly, and the filling was so tasty that I finished them in no time. The restaurant has an L-shaped counter with 14 seats, and one 4-person table. The seating is limited, and by the time we left, it was full, so making a reservation is a must if you plan to go with multiple people.

Former colleagues from work gathered in Osaka once again. This day was a welcome party for one of them. We went to a restaurant called "Mikunitei". The restaurant is located about a 3-minute walk from Nipponbashi Station on the Osaka Metro, and we arrived around 7:50 PM. We made a phone reservation just in case. The seating area was an open kitchen with an L-shaped counter for 14 seats, and there was also a table for 4 people. The three of us enjoyed several beers, two orders of gyoza, cucumber, pork tempura, stir-fried bean sprouts, mixed vegetables, mapo tofu, and shrimp fried rice. Every dish was delicious, and the beers went down smoothly (laughs). Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Visited for the first time with a reservation at 17:00 on a Saturday in July 2023. "Sangokutei" is a popular Chinese restaurant located north of Nihonbashi Station, across Dotonbori to the east, selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the west by Tabelog. On this day, I entered with a friend and sat at the counter seat at the back. The atmosphere is just right, not a casual Chinese restaurant but not a high-end one either. Checked the menu and ordered the following: - Beer: 700 yen x 2 - Steamed chicken: 1,400 yen - Gyoza: 500 yen x 2 - Small shrimp tempura: 1,600 yen - Shrimp fried rice: 950 yen - Dan dan noodles: 1,000 yen - Wonton noodles: 850 yen * All prices include tax We shared all the dishes we ordered, and each one was delicious without any misses! Among them, the gyoza had a crispy and chewy skin with the filling melting in the mouth, very delicious. The shrimp fried rice had a perfect texture, and it was superbly done! The small shrimp tempura and steamed chicken were also above average. The dan dan noodles at the end were personally my favorite with a great balance of flavor and ingredients. My friend praised the wonton noodles as well. With the high-quality dishes, it was a very satisfying meal. I will definitely consider revisiting. We enjoyed the delicious meal in about an hour. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Located in the deep area of the island, this restaurant has received high praise from a certain food blogger! I have been curious about it for a while now. I decided to visit after having a meal at a nearby yakitori restaurant, as it was close by. The interior of the restaurant is set up with counter seats surrounding the kitchen, giving it a lively atmosphere. From the menu divided into two sections, I ordered cucumber, pickled vegetables, gyoza, steamed pork, and stir-fried squid and celery. The gyoza had a thin skin and a perfect wrapping technique. For my second round today, I ordered yakisoba and shrimp fried rice! The shrimp fried rice was the ideal balance of fluffy and moist – delicious! Overall, the restaurant has a clean atmosphere and offers elegant flavors similar to hotel Chinese cuisine. However, the prices are on the higher side, resembling hotel Chinese prices, with items like cucumber seeming to have a cost ratio below 10%, so be careful not to overeat. Currently, the restaurant has a rating of 3.71 on Tabelog.

Around 17:00, there was no one lining up right after the store opened, so I thought maybe a reservation was necessary. However, there were no customers inside, so I was able to enter easily and was seated at the counter right in front. The recommended dishes were the gyoza, which lived up to the preconceived notions, shrimp fried rice, and the highly recommended eight treasure dish, which I had never tried before. The preserved egg came out in about 2 minutes, followed by the eight treasure dish in about 6 minutes. The flavors were subtle but well-balanced and quite delicious. The gyoza, although a bit lacking in filling, was tasty. The fried rice, on the other hand, was a bit bland and the soup was just okay. As for the preserved egg, it didn't have much flavor, so I wondered if it needed seasoning to enhance the taste. The texture was interesting but overall, it was just alright. I paid 3250 yen in cash and since it was still early for my night shift, I decided to head to Kyobashi.

The crispy and juicy dumplings with a chewy thin skin were delicious! Visited a popular Chinese restaurant in Namba, Osaka for the first time and was seated immediately on a Saturday afternoon. The open kitchen and live cooking style added to the great atmosphere. Ordered the dumplings and they were fantastic. Good quality and value for money, will definitely go back again!

Although it is cheap compared to high-end Chinese restaurants, it is still quite expensive when compared to places like Yoshinoya. Spending 5000 yen per person can fill you up. The staff is plentiful, so the food comes out quickly. It might be just right to have some dumplings and a main rice dish alone. The dumplings and shrimp in chili sauce were delicious.

I can't keep up with writing reviews at all... There are too many restaurants that haven't been reviewed yet... Dotonbori's central location is a bit far from Sankokutei. It feels like this place is a bit hidden from the outside. I wonder how long I've been coming here. It's a restaurant that has been passed down through generations, from parents to children, or even grandchildren. I think really delicious Chinese restaurants like this one always have an incredible sense of cleanliness, and Sankokutei definitely exudes that level of quality. The open kitchen is bustling with many people, each carrying out their roles efficiently, with the owner at the center. He manages the cooking while providing friendly customer service... it's amazing. So, today, let's start with a toast with beer! Super Dry in a bottle is so good. We're enjoying cucumber and century egg as appetizers, and then the dumplings arrive. These dumplings are truly one of a kind in taste. I've been taught since my grandfather's time to have "one person, two servings," so we ordered four servings this time for the two of us... is that too much? No, this is just right. Still amazing. We switch to Shaoxing wine at this point. Everything here is delicious, so it's hard to choose from the menu, but personally, I highly recommend the pork tempura. Or the Fu-Yo-Hai, or even the subtle stir-fried bean sprouts. I can't pick just one. We finish with a mixed soup soba and fried rice. Oh, I'm so satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a popular Chinese restaurant in Nihonbashi, boasting a Tabelog score of 3.63 and selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in 2023. It offers seriously delicious food with a touch of elegance, making it suitable for a casual date. The staff's efficiency and speed are impressive, adding to the overall dining experience. On this particular visit, we decided to end the night with some dumplings. The cucumber, dumplings, mapo tofu, rice, yakisoba, and stir-fried squid and celery were all delicious and well-prepared. The dumplings were thin-skinned and elegant, the mapo tofu was flavorful, and the stir-fried dishes were light yet packed with flavor. It's a versatile restaurant that caters to both light and hearty appetites. I would love to come back for more of their delicious dumplings. Thank you!

Hey, long time no see! We decided to go to Sanguotei for some food. It was a Saturday but we managed to go! There were three seats lined up at the counter, it was so cute. We ordered gyoza, squid and celery dish, mapo tofu, yakisoba (salt flavor), and cucumber dish. The gyoza here is always so good, we could eat them forever. Everything we ordered was delicious as usual. Mapo tofu really makes you crave for some white rice, so we asked for some and enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal! (•́✧•̀)

My friend made a reservation for me at an old Chinese restaurant. I heard that it's a popular place where you can't get in without a reservation. The restaurant has counter seats and only one table. It's reasonably priced but has a different atmosphere from typical downtown Chinese restaurants. Most of the customers were elegant elderly people, seeming like regulars. I asked the staff for recommendations and ordered based on their advice. Everything was delicious, with no disappointments. They were very helpful in suggesting dishes when I was hungry. The dumplings with thin skin seemed to be a specialty, and they were indeed very tasty. The dumplings were small, with very thin skin that was crispy. They weren't stuck together, making them easy to eat. They were so delicious that I could eat as many as I wanted. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. It has counter seats where you can see the kitchen, and small tables for four people. I ordered some popular dumplings and other dishes. The food was served quickly and one after another. The dumplings looked small but had thin and crispy skin with juicy filling, very delicious. I finished them quickly and ordered more. Every dish was delicious. I would like to visit again to try different menu items. This restaurant gets full quickly, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting.

It has a traditional atmosphere and the food was delicious! This restaurant is known for its dumplings, so it's recommended to order them first even before being seated. We ordered the dumplings first, but they were the last to arrive, which was funny. Each dish had a generous portion, and we were quite full by the end, but the dumplings were so tasty! They were easy to eat and I could have kept eating more. The kitchen is visible from the counter, and I noticed a staff member eating a Western dessert in the kitchen without worrying about customers seeing. The dishes that stood out were the soup-style hollow heart vegetables and the shrimp fried rice.

I wanted to eat gyoza, so I went to Sanguutei in Minami for the first time in a while. It's a famous Chinese restaurant in town, and I had gyoza and char siu while having a drink. The gyoza was delicious, but one of the highlights is watching the master at work. Luckily, I got a seat at the counter right in front of where the master was cooking. I started with beer and char siu, which was amazing with the cabbage strips soaked in sauce. Next, I had the gyoza! They were small, with moist filling and perfectly cooked. The master interacted with various customers, taking orders and chatting, which was enjoyable to watch.

I called to confirm at 6:10 pm on a weekday before visiting. The restaurant was fully booked. The water spinach was tasty, soaked in sauce, but more like a mixed vegetable dish. The dumplings were on the small side and average in taste. The sweet and sour pork had very small pieces of meat, almost like small meatballs, and the portion was also small. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice was only three pieces. Is that it? The rice was nicely separated and fluffy, but the taste was just average. Overall, the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food. The flavors were okay, nothing exceptional. The cost performance was not good.

I wanted to eat delicious Chinese food, so today I came to "Sangokutei" with a drinking buddy! This restaurant is a nice place that can also be used for dates! Since my friend loves shrimp, we ordered shrimp and kiwi mayonnaise stir-fry, pork tempura, and dumplings! The dumplings came first! The dumplings here are especially delicious! They have a satisfying taste!!! They are so delicious that the beer goes down smoothly too! We also had shrimp chili, fried rice, and pickled vegetables! We ended with drinking warm sake! We ate to the max for two people! Thank you for the meal!!!
