23/07/14 After a long time, I went out drinking with my brothers, and there were three of us. It was Friday evening, the end of the week. I am the eldest of three brothers. I was in a hurry to go back home to Asahikawa, but then... Ring! My LINE started ringing loudly. It was from my younger brother who lives in Obihiro. "Unit 1 is calling you," "Unit 3 is in Obihiro. Please come quickly." Our work schedules and days off are all different. Opportunities like this are rare! I decided to postpone my return until tomorrow. It was a Friday after the end of the pandemic. We were turned down in many places, but we ended up here. The three brothers spent their student days in Hakodate. It must be fate. Cheers! There was no all-you-can-drink option, so we slowed down our pace. We ordered a variety of dishes, but... "The squid is the best!" Surprisingly, we all agreed. We chatted about various things and said, "Let's go to the next place!" Whenever we feel like having dried squid, we will visit again.

The impression is that they have a decent selection of sake from the Tohoku region. It's a seafood-focused izakaya with average food. It was a bit of a downside that the servers were a bit slow to come take our order even though it wasn't busy, but the taste was not bad so that's my overall evaluation.

At the end of the year, on the 28th of December, the restaurant was bustling! However, I forgot to take photos of the dishes (ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡ｶﾞ━━━ﾝ!!!! Please enjoy the atmosphere of the counter at the hearth and the menu instead... Thank you very much!

I asked a French cuisine teacher for recommendations, and she helped me remember the name of this amazing izakaya I had been to. Every dish was delicious. The butter-grilled rice balls with plenty of spicy cod roe were outstanding! I wouldn't dare to make them at home, though (laughs). My companion kept ordering extra raw oysters. The ramen salad could have used a bit more vegetables, I think. The dessert had a nostalgic taste to it - fried bread with ice cream. It was crispy and delicious. We couldn't stop ourselves from finishing it all. If I ever go back to Obihiro, I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Today's first stop was at Hakodate Akachouchin. The appetizer was grilled shrimp. It's a lively izakaya where they grill the food right in front of you. The dried squid chunks were delicious. Sipping on sake little by little was nice.

I revisited the robatayaki restaurant "Hakodate Akachochin" in the bustling area in front of Obihiro Station. The staff were wearing face shields and had reduced the number of seats to ensure safety measures against COVID-19. The central robatayaki grill remained unchanged, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were efficient, the food was delicious, and the cost performance was great. It's a restaurant worth visiting at least once. We ordered dishes such as marinated red sea bream with kelp (510 yen), squid sashimi with mountain wasabi (650 yen), grilled miso silver cod (660 yen), and grilled scallops (560 yen). The mountain wasabi added a nice kick, and the beer went down smoothly. It was a truly satisfying evening.

It gradually got worse,,,,,, I came to Obihiro and went drinking. The first place was good, the second place wasn't that bad either, but the third place turned out to be disappointing. It was a robatayaki place that looked authentic from the outside. I don't really have high expectations for such places these days, always going to these pseudo-robatayaki places. When I said "Just one!" they only had counter seating, which was fine by me. The beer, either dry or tasty, was good. I ordered "Mochi Bacon" and "Tsubu and Maitake Mushroom Ajillo". When I went to inform the owner, he said, "Mochi Bacon is sold out, I'll think of something else! Sorry." I don't blame you, dude... I came back and he said, "The maitake mushrooms are sold out, but I can make a butter-fried different mushroom instead! Sorry." Huh? Well, it's not your fault, so I don't really mind. Just use a different mushroom for the Ajillo instead of maitake, right? But there's no point in telling the dude, so it's whatever. We got grilled shrimp as a starter, but I only eat shrimp as sashimi. But since I didn't order anything else, I ate the shrimp. As I was eating, I lost the desire to order anything else. No one seemed to care, and since both things I ordered were not available, I lost interest. The shrimp wasn't bad, though. Hey, old man, I only ordered two of each, but neither of them were available, so you should tell me directly... I'm right here. The message game at times like this is really annoying. I don't feel like ordering anymore. I just had beer and the starter and called it a night. Sorry for giving a score like this, but it's not my fault that what I ordered didn't come. 2 points. 650 yen.

I went to Hakodate Akachochin! I have been here a few times for party events. Today was a small welcome party on the first floor. The impression of "Hakodate Akachochin" is of a lively izakaya. I'm not sure why it's called Hakodate, as it is a well-established izakaya in Obihiro. We had a toast with beer as we sat down. The Super Dry beer was delicious. The dishes were ordered in advance, so I wasn't sure how much was ordered. We started with a sashimi boat platter, which was fresh and delicious. There was also grilled surf clam, which was big and tasty. The yakitori was a bit overcooked but still delicious. The salt seasoning was just right. We also had other dishes that weren't pictured, but we ate quite a lot. I switched to sake halfway through and enjoyed getting a little tipsy. The speed of drink service was excellent. With a wide variety of menu items, it was a fun and recommended izakaya. Thank you, Hakodate Akachochin!

In January 2020, I stayed at Tokachi River Onsen and decided to stay one more night in Obihiro City before heading back, as it felt too sad to leave right away. I enjoyed watching Ban'ei horse racing and checked into a hotel before heading out to the lively nightlife district. The chosen restaurant had a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere, with a counter seating arrangement where the chef passed dishes using a large "shamoji" (rice paddle). It reminded me of the old "Akachochin" restaurant in Asahikawa. The dishes were all cheap, delicious, and served quickly. The sign said "small profit, quick turnover" and it was true. Now I understand why it's always crowded. Thank you for the meal.

It's just a few minutes' walk from Obihiro Station. In front of my favorite yakitori restaurant OHANA. I knew about the existence of the restaurant, but I always found it strange that people from Hakodate would come all the way to Obihiro to visit a place with Hakodate in its name. So, I had never visited. After leaving OHANA and eating and drinking too much, I didn't have the energy to look for another place, so I ended up here. The interior of the restaurant has a central hearth surrounded by counter seats and many table seats. Even though it was a weekday, it was crowded. There is no all-you-can-drink option. I don't know why, but I ordered an Oronamin beer. Probably because I was full and didn't feel like drinking beer, but couldn't find anything else I wanted to drink. As a result, the Oronamin C was brought in a bottle, so we drank separately. It was pointless. The appetizer was shrimp. I find this kind of thing bothersome, sorry. Especially when it's late. I prefer when a gentleman peels it for me. I'll do it reluctantly. It was delicious. I ordered Iburi Gakko potato salad. It was probably the only thing I ordered because it was too spicy. I don't have a photo, maybe I didn't take one? What is the official name of that spatula you often see at the hearth? I wanted to take a nice picture, but it's hard for a drunk person. I took a picture of the person next to me. The atmosphere at the hearth was lively and would definitely be appreciated by people from outside the region. Next time, let's have a lot of food! This was a clumsy review.

It's been a while since I had robatayaki. I enjoyed the good atmosphere of the restaurant.

The retro music playing in the shop creates a great atmosphere, and everything I eat there is delicious. The cost performance is excellent.

I came to Obihiro on a trip with a friend to visit the food stall village, but a local acquaintance recommended this restaurant to us after visiting the food stall village. The counter is built around a hearth, creating a nice atmosphere. Although we weren't very hungry, we ordered 5-6 dishes. Personally, I thought the mackerel sashimi and blackthroat sea perch were delicious. Next time, I'll make sure to come here on an empty stomach.

The grilled onigiri with butter was amazing.

The fried bread ice cream was incredibly delicious.
