We had lunch in a private room on the second floor of a hidden kaiseki restaurant located on Ogawa-dori and Kawai-cho. The GOEMON set meal, priced at 1,800 yen, was satisfying and generous in portion size. It included a small dish with a sashimi platter, tempura, soup, and rice, all at a reasonable price. Everyone was very satisfied!

This is a small cuisine restaurant located in Sawaraki-cho near the prefectural office and the second Red Cross hospital. There is a counter on the first floor and tatami seating on the second floor. I enjoyed a course meal, and each dish was very elaborate and delicious. The selection of drinks was also extensive.

The hidden kaiseki restaurant located at the corner of Ogawa-dori and Sawaraki-dori offers very reasonable lunch options, priced at 1,000 yen, 1,200 yen, and 1,800 yen. Even the day-to-day 1,000 yen set meal comes with hamo tempura, a small side dish, miso soup, and rice, providing a high level of satisfaction. Meanwhile, the 1,800 yen GOEMON set includes a generous serving of sashimi, making it an incredibly good deal!

Every dish was incredibly delicious! The colorful presentation made me feel so excited while eating. There was also a wide variety of drinks, which paired nicely with each dish, making it great. The staff were kind and provided wonderful hospitality, allowing us to have a fantastic time. Thank you so much! I will definitely visit again!

I've been going here since the time of Uoki. This was my first visit since the shop changed. The lunch menu is as shown in the picture. I ordered the seafood bowl for 1,200 yen. This time, I went for the large portion. The first floor has a counter, and the second floor has tatami seating. There are two rooms in the tatami area, which can accommodate up to six people. I recommend making a reservation. The seafood bowl, as shown in the picture, has a generous amount of seafood with great quality. The rice is not vinegared, but you can pour homemade dashi soy sauce over it, giving the rice a nice aroma. I will definitely visit again.

Today's lunch is at "Kuzushi Kappo GOEMON," a Japanese restaurant located up the small street off Oggawa in Kamigyō-ku, Kyoto. The store's exterior looks upscale, accentuated by a wild sign. Upon entering, you take off your shoes and step into an L-shaped counter with a dugout seating style. It seems there are additional seats on the second floor as well. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, and the illustrations add a playful touch. Today's special set meal is reportedly delicious, so I quickly order the "Today's Set (Grilled Seabream with Saikyo Miso)" for 1,000 yen. The lacquered counter gives off an elegant kappo atmosphere. Reservations are available even during lunch hours, which is a plus. A nicely folded cloth oshibori is provided with the meal. The elegant white-collared chopsticks also convey a sense of quality. There is a bouquet of flowers for the opening displayed at the entrance. The set meal arrives on a half-moon tray, presenting a refined Japanese-style lunch. It doesn't take long, which is appreciated during lunchtime. The miso soup, of course, has rich dashi flavor. The potato salad in a small bowl is a smooth paste with interestingly textured diced ingredients. The pickles are simple and rustic. The nanban-zuke (marinated vegetables) in another small bowl demonstrates a high level of preparation. The dashimaki (dashi omelet) is subtly sweet, matching my preference perfectly. The main dish, seabream, is a seasonal high-quality fish with a stunning grill color. It is soft and rich in fat yet refreshing, with the saikyo miso bringing out its flavors. The skin is grilled perfectly, allowing the fat to enhance the taste. Both the atmosphere and the food exude quality. I'm thoroughly satisfied with this excellent value lunch, and the evening menu also seems reasonably priced. The courses are affordable, and there appears to be a wide selection of sake, which makes me excited for future visits. I've found a place to enjoy both lunch and dinner.

The restaurant has 10 counter seats. I've heard that there are two private rooms on the second floor. For lunch, there are three options: 1000 yen, 1200 yen, and 1800 yen, which include the daily special set meal, seafood bowl, and the GOEMON set with tempura and sashimi. I've used the restaurant twice, and both times the food was delicious. It's better to go early or make a reservation as it seems to be more secure that way. By the way, when I had the set meal, I could get free refills for the miso soup and rice, and I refilled both twice! 😊

The ingredients were truly amazing! ✨✨ I enjoyed sashimi, grilled dishes, simmered dishes, and Matsutake mushroom in a teapot! The cooking was perfect, and the braised abalone was so tender… I’ve never had such a soft abalone before. I absolutely love shirako (cod sperm) with ponzu sauce, and it was the most delicious I’ve ever had! ✨ I was also excited to see such a selection of sake. There were so many options that I wanted to try! Each drink I had was delicious. I enjoyed Yamazaki whiskey as a highball, and even had makgeolli! I wondered if it was domestic or Korean—it sparked some fun conversation. They also had wine and shochu, making it a paradise for alcohol lovers. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm, and all the staff were very kind. ^_^ I will definitely go back! ✨✨
